Woohoo, August 29th Alumni here:rotfl:! We are also booked on the 5 day double dip (this is cruise #3). We are thrilled about the price, $3860 for a family of 5 in an 8D - stateroom 6672 (we usually have to book a Cat. 4 - and we used the balcony just a handful of times this last cruise). That large Porthole looks great, and the girls have already "called" it for Day 1-5!

Hey Parlay!!

Looks like our old thread over here!

Just booked Aug. 16th today too! We are a family of six, so we have two rooms. We got two 11C which are booked as a gty.
Our family:
Thad (Dad)
Bonnie (Mom)
Ryan (will be 11)
Kate (will be 8)
Olivia (will be 6)
Brady (will be 2)

I can't tell you how thrilled I am...now how to pass the time until then? :goodvibes

Your Kate and my Katie (will be 8) may get along great!

Welcome aboard! We are on deck 6 also. We have 6578 & 6580 the last two 5D cabins before the Deluxe Family Veranda Staterooms.

Glad to see the former August 29 group are now having a reunion:thumbsup2

Joe

For those who do not know me. We are a family of five. Me (Joe); DW (Michelle); DD Natalia (19 at cruise date); DD Jenei (15 at cruise date) and Deyshia pronounced Deja like Deja Vou (11 at cruise date).

Can't believe all the DIS gang already booked! Hopefully by the time it gets here I'll be able to keep track of who's who. Definately the furthest out I've ever planned a trip.

Well, back to work tomorrow for me....Hopefully I don't day dream too much. :goodvibes

So how far in advance do you all put in for vacation? I'll feel kinda silly putting in 21 months in advance as I'm not even sure I'll still be there or what sort of changes will be made between now and then. I know one coworker who put in a request a year out for a vacation. Thoughts anyone??

April

Welcome, welcome to all our friends from our Aug 29/09 cruise. Looking forward to seeing all of you again.:grouphug:

Wow! this board is rocking already! I just booked this cruise with my dummy date from the Hallowonder cruise last month. There are 4 of us Me-Celebrating the big 4-0, DH-older than me, DD-Amber 14 on the cruise, and DS-Jake 10 on the cruise. Wow that's wierd thinking that my daughter will be a teenager! :scared1: I know this is really early but I'm in if we are doing a FE, my kids had such a great time with it on this last cruise. I like the name "Double Dipping Dreams before the School Bell Rings" that Texasgirl came up with! It fits my crew perfectly, I'm not even sure when our school starts that year because the calander is not out yet. I hope they don't miss the first day of school because we're on a cruise!

I can't get over how many Aug 29th "alumni" there will be on this cruise! I'd like to say how cute our bracelets were and so handy for striking up a conversation!

I'll post pics of the braclets from "Mickey's So Long Summer Cruise" for the folks to see.

For us in the northeast, school doesn't start until after Labor day.:headache:

That is soo funny!!! My kids have also called it!!!! My youngest, now 6, insist that he is sleeping there!!! The oldest is calling the top bunk!! just to join in the fun my husband and I called the bed!!!!:banana:

I'm new to the board, but we're 8/29 alumni too (celebrated our 10th anniversary). We were hoping the Magic would stay in the US for the Summer of 2011, but 5 days with two stops in CC on the Dream is almost as good.

I still haven't decided on a category or room yet. Still debating between 11C, 10A (if they come available again), 9B and 9A.

Okay, we finally decided. We booked a corner 9A room on deck 8 forward. I'm dying to know how that room will be configured!

I was on the hallowwonder cruise also and booked my dummy reservation for this cruise too.

We are in room 10500, cat 5A. It will be me, my mom and my then 5 year old daughter. I had my TA move us to that side of the ship so we're under the spa. Nice and quiet (I hope!).

Hi All...sounds like quite of few of you already know each other from previous cruises, so I am guessing there are kids that have some built in friends for this trip.

My son asked yesterday if the kids would have a place to "talk" before the cruise..he met a few friends on the boards prior to our last trip and is interested in doing the same this time. If I have counted the posts correctly, there are already 12+ kids in the 11-13 range, which I think is the right ages for the tween club (which looks pretty cool). Last cruise, someone with a lot more skill than I :),set up a kid's website, so they could talk, but more privately than the disboards. Anyone interested, or would everyone be okay with a separate thread for the kids here?

My DS will be 13 at the time of the cruise (just a couple weeks shy of starting eight grade!! That sounds crazy since we have only put a dent in his sixth grade year!)

thanks for any thoughts!

Dahly

We will be joining you! Just heard from my TA (a very brief 1 line e-mail, poor lady is drowning) that she got us on, a cat 6b and 11b, aft. It will be me, dh, ds 18 and dd 16. This is our second cruise, we did a 7 day eastern last October, with Hurricane Omar.

I'm so excited!!!

I am an idiot, I just realized I aged my dd by a year, she will only be 15 when we cruise!!! Thank goodness, she is growing up too fast as it is.

my DS loves your Stitch..he said it looks like he is doing the "wave" with his behind!

My son is in the same scenario - just started 6th grade but will be 13 and just shy of starting 8th grade when we cruise. He is so excited about a teen club. We were on the wonder 2 weeks ago and he went to the club for about 1 hour total. He got so used to Ocean Quest on the Magic that he said the lab was for little kids.

We will be joining you all:banana:

My name is Dana and it will be myself, my DH Ray and my DS Joseph who will be almost 7 at cruise time.

This will be our second Disney cruise.
We booked a Cat 6A #9176. I am so excited to have a verandah. I told my DH we booked an inside cabin so it's going to be a surprise when he walks into the room:laughing:

I look forward to getting to know everyone and to pass the next 21 months with.

Hopefully he does not frequent the boards and come across this post.
