August 16, 2011, Disney Dream - Part 4

Yes, let's hope the storms are gone by the time we sail!!
Is everyone planning on rebooking on the ship? I am! I'm probably just going to do a dummy date though!

Thanks, Kristin! i hope they turn out good!

I hope so too!!

I bet they turned out Great!! Want to give us any clues??

Suntan lotion...
Need to run to BJ's in the next day or two, how many bottles of sunscreen do you think a family of 4 needs? I pack both-lotion for a base coat in room and spray for touch ups. I wish I would write this stuff down to remember year to year on how much we actually use per trip.

Last time my suitcase was flagged by TSA, pretty sure it was all the sunscreen (I probably had 6 bottles total). I'll have to spread it out amongst the bags this time, or send it down in advance with the FE stuff.

That is funny, Bruce and I were just talking about if we had enough sunscreen and if I needed to run to BJ's for more...LOL!! It is a really good price there.

We were figuring for the kids (two of them) one bottle between them every two days.

I think we said for us six bottles. Not sure though feel like I do not have enough for a 15 day vacation!! Thoughts??!!

Wow page 3 already! Have one little power outage and see how much you miss!!

Kristen, would love to sail next year but we really need a to do some work around the house, so this will be our last vacation for a while. But a DCL for my 40th is what started us on this DCL addiction.

Since we are spending almost 2 weeks on vacation this summer and have to go shopping in VB anyway, I have decided to purchase our toiletries in Florida and not have to worry about them exploding in our suitcase or the 1-1-1-3 rule, they also weigh a lot. I am just going to buy it there.

I did our VB online check-in this morning!! 10 days until we leave! I think this is the most I have ever longed for a vacation!! We are so looking forward to this one.

Happy Monday!!

I am headed to BJ's this morning and my main reason for going is sunscreen. LOL. I have 4 kids to buy for so I need to buy big quantities at a good price. I just wish there was a coupon for sunscreen this month.

I found it, too!!!

For those of you who think packing stinks, I'd rather pack "for" the trip then unpack "from" the trip!

Very well said! Unpacking causes laundry- and, I do not like doing laundry.

We are thinking of rebooking onboard. I am pricing out an 8 night out of NYC next July or I will book a dummy date and then move it to 2013 when dates are released. Our 2013 vacation will be to celebrate DS11's Bar Mitzvah. Our 1st cruise was to celebrate DS15's Bar Mitzvah.

As for tropical depressions...for all of you experienced hurricane season cruisers...when do we need to start watching out for them.???

Have a great day everyone! Time to go to work.

Just did our online VB check-in too! I can't believe we'll be there in 10 days!

Looks like this one might not effect them too much it looks like next weekend and the begining of the following week. Lets hope they are gone by the time we sail!!
You're right-- I misread the forecast. IF it gets to the Bahamas (as Emily), it is about 5 days out, but it's still a big IF at this point. Still, I would be watching it if I was leaving on the Dream tomorrow.

Did you check the coppertone website??

Hi Sherri,

I usually start watching the weather about a 7 days out!!

I'm just going to sneak into one of your cabanas at CC and grab all the sunscreen!! :lmao: Just kidding, I usually bring one bottle with us for the first day and buy the rest at Walmart when we get to FL.

Any-one know if Alfred and Seymour will be on our cruise. This is a GREAT show!! I surely hope so!!

My FIL is a frustrated amateur weather geek. Really.. all winter we receive multiple emails every day updating us on impending snow storms.

I have been holding off asking him about the Caribbean weather ...too early and I get too many updates!

I will email him today and pass along any updates he sends.

The man is truly a geek about this stuff. He LOVES watching the weather channel and has all kinds of internet sites he goes to so he can read the satellite info as well as all the data the weather service uses to make their predictions. :sigh:

In other news... I have one FE finished and 2 FEs half done. 1 FE has to be purchased next weekend, and dd and I may be working on something on the train ride down...still deciding on that last one. All of them are small items.

My FE arrived on Saturday. It is simple...but I like it!

12 days until we leave! :cheer2:

I am getting worried about traffic around DC in order to get to Lorton and the AutoTrain. Still trying to work out a good departure time. We have to check in by 2pm or we don't make the train. Google maps is saying the trip is 3hrs, 21min. I figure if we leave by 8am that gives us a 2.5hr cushion. Do you think we need more?

I even had my Google Maps App open on my phone with the traffic overlay all Saturday morning, monitoring traffic along 95 and around the DC Loop (it was all green until 12:30, then a few yellow spots popped up).

I'm planning too much aren't I?

I found an Android App called Ship Mate - Disney Cruise Line. It is supposed to allow you to get specific info about your cruise...but our sailing isn't listed as an option! GRRRR

There are some nice maps there of the ship though and they insist that it is available offline (so you can access it at sea w/o obscenly expensive charges).

I'm not sure how I am going to get through the next two weeks at work. I took this Friday afternoon off to run some errands (busy out of the house all day Saturday and Sunday is final packing day!). I just want to leave NOW!!!

Love your FE, my parents got one that looks really similiar my mom and Hopie took fabric paint and put their last name in the Mickey Head and their names on it so it would not get taken by someone!!

Did you check the coppertone website??

I was going to suggest this. That's what I just did. Or you can Google sunscreen coupons.

Anyone have an answer regarding the last feasible day to send a box to the ship? My FEs aren't done, but I want to send them ahead.

Now that we're on thread 4 (I won't feel so stupid asking this since it's in a totally different thread) Does someone remember where to find the Navigators for the 5 day that is the same as ours?

Hi Beth,

Just finished sending you an email...

My TA said that I should rebook this cruise onboard to get the 10% and the OBC and then transfer it to her for her OBC..

Would you guys think about joining us?? That would be FUN!!

Kristin , would you be able to give me your travel agents buissness card on board . - I think I'm going to book a dummy date but I might do on the quiet and not tell Dave ;);)

:scared1::scared1:Looks,, like there is a tropical depression out in the tropics!!:scared1::scared1:

Hopefully it will all be gone by the 16th - ALthough you did mention you have been on a few cruises that got diverted ? right:rolleyes1

:lmao:

I'm not sure how to fit DeLaurentis on it... darn husband and his abnormally long last name!
