August 16, 2011, Disney Dream - Part 4

Those shoes are adorable!

As for the pedi - no brainer - dd and I will have red with white polka dots Yea Minnie Mouse!

dd even has DCL cruise color bands on her braces, red, black, and yellow

I love that DD has the cruise color bands that's so cool!

Love these shoes! :lovestruc where did you get them?

I had to order them from Germany because I couldn't find them anywhere in the US. I bought them over a year ago, but they had alot of different characters. Here's the others they have now... http://www.birki.us/shoes-sandals-clogs/int/collection-disney.html

We're packed, checked in for our flight and ready to go in the AM! Can't believe it's here already! <--- Thats how many sleeps we have now. As for shoes, I'm really simple, I have a pair of tennis shoes, a pair of flipflops that are dressy enough to pass for semi-formal night, and these little cuties....
shoe2.jpg

they're my cruise shoes and I love them. The kids love them when I wear them to school and they're comfy because they're Birkenstocks.

Terri - LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the shoes! Have a great trip and I can't wait to see you on the ship!!!

I have been using the CND (Creative Nail Designs) gel the last few manicures because my nails were breaking and chipping so much. It has been great. Been lasting about 2 1/1 weeks. Downside is that it is hard to get off. Nails have to be soaked in 100% acetone for 10-15 minutes. I use color for my mani/pedi. Usually some shade of red or pink in the summer. Pedi is 3 PM this Friday.

I find that even if I soak mine in the 100% acetone, I still have a really hard time getting them off myself. I decided that I am just going to pay to have my nail gal take them off....it is so quick and easy for her.

Love your Disney spirit! I used to always do red with white polka dots...thought about it again for this trip but still haven't decided what I am going to have put on when they are done on Friday.

We each have 4 pairs, actually DS only has 3. I have walking shoes (Birks), dress sandals, casual sandals for dinners and flip flops.

Dh just says, maybe I'll bring the jacket, LOL. So, not sure now if he is wearing a jacket and tie, jacket and no tie, or just tie LOL.

I never do my fingernails, ever, not sure why, just don't. I just did my toes in red with rhinestone mickeys.

Cute toes! Do you put the rhinestones on yourself? What do you use to stick them on?

I love that DD has the cruise color bands that's so cool!

It is a good thing you did not post this earlier or I would have just had to have had a pair of them! I looked at them all and could pick tons of them that I LOVE!

!

they are adhesive rhinestones, but I use super glue to make sure they stick :). Of course I have red polish on my toes where the rhinestones are, all winter till they grow out, but no one seems them in a mn winter anyway:rotfl2:.

I finally finished all of our "crafts" for this trip! Here are our FEs--finally finished? The blue one is ours--recycled from a previous cruise, and the red one is the new one I made for my parents:

Yay! Time to start packing! Oh wait... gotta do the laundry first! :laundy:

I can't believe how much more there is to do and we only have 3 days left before we leave! :scared1:

Cute shoes!!!

In terms of shoes. I think I might have six packed....

Ok, another ladies question..What are you doing for your mani. & pedi's if your getting them a color or french?? Also, what do you recommend in terms of a mani. mine always does does not last a friend told me to do gel, with my own nails but I heard it was hard to take off when your ready for it to come off.....Thoughts??

Shoes...I think I might end up with as many as you! :) Tennis shoes, red Mickey crocs, flip flops, black dressy sandals, khaki sandals, black flats....I'm not sure yet! I haven't finished packing my stuff yet. I need to go do that now!!!!:lmao:

I don't usually do my fingernails either. Last time I did them for the cruise, they had mostly all peeled off by the 2nd or 3rd day. I figure it was because of using those wipes everytime we ate in the restaurants. :rolleyes1
I'm going to get my pedi tomorrow....I'm not sure what color. I like the red with rhinestones. That sounds good!:)

Cute FE!

I just got gifts all packed up and did my magnets!! Now I just need to go finish packing me!

I'm so glad she was able to get a waterproof cast.

So, I'm just curious ladies, how many pairs of shoes will you be bringing? :goodvibes Today, I realized it might be easier to start with the shoes I want to bring and then select the clothes to match rather than the other way around in order to minimize the # of shoes.

Hmm shoes thats a touchy subject:lmao:
Well I've packed 11 pairs, that includes a mixture of sneakers, sandals, watershoes and dressy shoes.

Terri I love your cruise shoes there fab:thumbsup2

Oh my! I have a lot of catching up to do. I have not been on since last week and I am 40 some pages behind. Last week I was preparing form my parents 50th wedding anniversary which took place this past Sat. It was so beautiful. They renewed their vows and dinner celebration. It was good seeing family and friends. Now, I am trying to catch up. I still have to finish packing and we leave in 2 days.

That was me!

Thanks! The regulars over on the Transportation board have been the voices of doom and gloom. Someone actually suggested we should leave at 4am to make sure we are there by 2pm (the ride is 3.5hrs) because the traffic is so bad.

I figure if we leave by 8am (we are just north of Philly), 3.5hrs is 11:30am which is 2.5 hours before the 2pm check in deadline.

Marsha, do you see any advantage taking 295 down to Lorton, VA instead of 95? Google Maps is saying there is a whopping 2 minute difference in driving time! ;)

Thanks for the traffic tips! I appreciate it!
Sorry for the delay in response. I would take 95 all the way out. And, I discovered this past weekend we we traveled to NJ that the DE toll construction is complete so it was a breeze going through the tolls since we have ezpass. If you do not have an ezpass, there might be a little bit of delay when you approach the tolls. We ran into traffic coming and going but the trip to NJ did not take more than 4.5 hours. Our trip is usually 3.5 - 4 hours depending on traffic. So, you should be fine.

Getting really psyched for this cruise now! Sorry I haven't had time to say what my dad thought of the new check in procedures yet. I've been so busy

Only 3 more days until we leave.:cool1::worship::rotfl::woohoo::yay::dance3:

I am so excited. As I posted earlier my DH does the packing and said to me this am - well I guess I better start getting things in the suitcase. :rotfl: Everything is laid out ready to go.

My DD (15) had her friends over last night for a bon fire, had everything ready by the time I came home from work, and I did very little. So proud of her!

Enjoy your day - Janeanne

Thank you!

Yes we have EZPass. I commute to work every day on the PATurnpike so it is essential.

I checked the traffic again on my phone this weekend and it was a non-event so I'm feeling pretty good about our plan.

Everything is coming together.

I just realized that Ben (5yo) has no dress shoes. Will anyone frown on him wearing sandals (teva type) or black sneakers to dinner? :confused3 Or do I run to Payless and see if they have something?

Thank you!

My DS - 8 will be wearing his black Keen sandals to dinner. I couldnt justify bringing an extra pair of shoes. Last cruise the kids never wanted to come to dinner with us anyhow. We would force them, and then they would head to the kids club before dinner was even over.

So glad to hear that your parents had a wonderful celebration for their 50th wedding anniversary. I bet it was a lot of work getting ready for it but sounds like it was all worth it! :goodvibes

Good luck with the packing! Just in case you are not on much before you leave.....Have a safe journey and we will see you soon!

Sounds like your DD had a nice evening with her friends. Isn't it nice that she is old enough to help herself a bit?

Tell your DH to get stuff in the suitcases! Only 3 days is a very exciting place to be!!!:woohoo:

Off to my last physical therapy app.......:woohoo::yay:

Morning Kristin! Enjoy your PT this morning. If you want....give me a call today. I will be around until about 11:00 (my time) and then tonight around 4:00. My sister is coming today and we will be at the pool this afternoon just relaxing a bit. I really need to be packing and getting ready but she is here on her vacation and wants to do something outside. Hopefully it will warm up a bit because it is pretty cool outside right now.

I just realized that Ben (5yo) has no dress shoes. Will anyone frown on him wearing sandals (teva type) or black sneakers to dinner? :confused3 Or do I run to Payless and see if they have something?

I wouldn't worry too much. My Ben (11) will be wearing black dress shoes for semi-formal but every other night will be wearing some sort of sandals to dinner with his dress pants.

We leave in 5 days!!!!!
I will be spending the day cleaning the entire house today(the appraiser is coming tomorrow morning at 9am :scared1:)
but at least it will be done for our vacation because i can't leave/come back to a dirty house and would have done it the night before anyway - so it will be one thing off our list.

hey- did you know you can do a mail hold online now??? got that scheduled

called and put pre-paid tips on our account

scheduled our airport transportation ($150 to park at ISP for 12 days vs. $30 each way for the three of us -- duhhh)

have DD's Dr./Dentist appts. scheduled for when we get back
just have to pick up her textbooks tomorrow and order her blazer for Middle School (oh and must pay her tuition :rolleyes1 and the deposit for her school trip at the end of september:headache:)

oh and have to stop by my old classroom to pack and label the stuff to go to my new building:mad: and i have to stop by the new building, introduce myself to the principal :upsidedow , and try to pick up some of the books/resources to read on my vacation:mad:

we are taking disney transfers to the port, so will probably miss the 2pm DISmeet :sad1:
I have a feeling this week might fly by...
