That is the concern--will we (and our stuff) fit? 6 suitcases and 6 carry-on bags (everyone is flying in)... The price difference is ~315 for the minivan and ~440 for the 2 sedans, so I'd really like to have the $125 to spend on something other than the vehicle. Generally I'd say it's a "convenience" fee and deal, but if it makes the drop off at the port more complicated (especially with the changed port opening confusion and our varied arrival times) then it's less of a convenience!

We rent a minivan each trip for 2 adults and 4 kids. We travel with 2 - 30 inch suitcases which are pretty big, a rolling duffle bag, 2 good quality umbrella strollers, and several backpack carry ons. We always fit everything. Suitcases and duffle go in the trunk with one stroller, and one stroller needs to go at the kids feet So I think this will come down to how large the suitcases are. The only bad part of taking the risk and getting the van is that if you don't fit everything, your only option is to change your rental car on the spot which will not include any discount codes.

Count us in with the cruise docs today too. Probably the only time I have not minded going out to the mailbox and came back with a huge smile. Who cared if there were any bills????

I am still upset about the port arrival time thing too. I didn't bother doing online check in for a few weeks and don't know if that is why. The first time that was not grayed out was 12:30 so that is what we have. I need to have the rental back by 10:30 before getting charged an additional day. And, then, we have the issue with DH and not being able to stand around anywhere cause of his back. He's having back surgery 3 weeks after we get back.

That's weird, when I go in, there isn't even a 10:30 showing up as greyed out, it's just not there.

When I go in , 10.30-11.00 is still showing ( as my choice);
after that EVERYTHING IS GREYED OUT

DGH has changed our reservation for the town car : we now are arriving to port at 11.00 sharp ( or later - depending on traffic !) ...

Maybe you could call DCL (or your TA) and ask to be among the FIRST ones boarding - due to you DH 's issue ...

Probably got another 101 things to sort - I put things on hold because of my mil - I really need her to improve more so I can get my head around the chores I still feel v ery guilty about planning our holiday

Long time lurker but I don't get to post much, but just wanted to share our excitement as our cruise documents arrived yesterday we're in Ireland and as the cruise is usually towards the end of our vacation they never normally arrive before we leave so I was grinning from ear to ear all day yesterday.

We're extra happy too as there's only 6 days until we start our vacation. We usually spend 5 weeks in Florida so even though it's a month away until the cruise we're heading up to the airport the night before our flight and the plan is

7 nights in a private villa
4 nights at Vero Beach in two GV Inn Rooms
3 nights at VWL in a studio
14 nights at BLT in a 1 bed SV
5 nights Disney Dream
2 nights at GF main building
Flight home

Got most things sorted and I'll probably pack on Friday, we don't have to take too much as we've got quite a bit in our Owners Locker and I always like to leave a bit of room for shopping

We might see some of you guys as we're part of the cabin tour but for the rest of you, have a fantastic cruise and thanks for all the hints & tips in the two years since we first booked

I am sorry that you are not able to fully enjoy your holiday planning. Hopefully your MIL will get a bit stronger each day and you can begin to relax, work on the details of the trip and not feel as guilty.

I did read all about it. Since we often stay at the Poly, this is sad to see. Yes we love the atmosphere of the resort but part of staying there is the convenience of the monorail. Each change, with all the increases in pricing, is very disappointing. Again, I was annoyed to read about it on the DIS because after the cruise we are staying at the Poly (club/concierge level) and were not told by Disney about this change. I would really like Disney to step up to the plate and communicate better with their customers.

Thanks for our weekly update Marsha! It is really starting to feel close now that we are down to 35 days and everyone is beginning to get their cruise documents! It won't be long now!

Candy - i' m worried about this too. My time hasn't changed either and i'm afraid that the earlier times will all be taken by the time they do change ours.

Count me in on this. I'm in the same boat (har har). My time is still 10:30.

We're on vacation outside Philly this week. We were at an amusement park yesterday & it was beyond Africa hot. All I kept saying to myself was WDW in August. I don't think I'm going to survive. I may look into cancelling the WDW portion. I HATE heat.

Good to hear the party went well (despite no shows - grrr) and the MIL is healing.

I hope to get our docs from our neighbor when we pick up our mail after vacation.

Sorry to hear your concerns about dear MIL ! I'm still praying for her to become stronger and stronger ; I know how these things can be worrying for all involved ...
IMHO you do not have to feel guilty ; Sheila is getting all your love and attention ( Say her a big CIAO !! for us ) - and you and Dave need ALSO some nice "thoughts" .
