Yes and no! I went to our local sears store and they have a Landsend section, I got 2 suits and a pareo for me and 1 suit for DH there. They had 40% off which worked out cheaper than if I ordered it online. Then I came home and ordered the 2 cover-ups and bathing suits I couldn't get there online.

I need to really go thru al of our clothes and see what we really need. I like going away in August because all of the clothes are on sale. I usually buy bigger sizes for the kids so they have them for next season too.

Sounds like you got some GREAT deals!!

Does anyone have any suggestions on keeping medication/baby formula cold while we travel?

We are flying on an early morning flight, going directly to Magic Kingdom, then heading to the port around dinner time to check into our hotel. This will be a long day, and it just hit me that I will need to keep my 10 month old's medication and a couple bottles of baby formula cold. (He is on prescription liquid formula due to some stomach issues and cant have powder, so we will be lugging 16 lbs of liquid formula in our luggage. UGH!) I will leave the house with an ice pack in the cooler bag, but in August in Florida I am sure that will need to be replaced by mid day. I could keep getting ice from counter service locations in MK, but I would expect the ice to melt quickly. My husband thought maybe we could bring some cold compresses (as you would use with athletes when they are hurt). I am interested to hear other suggestions if you have any.

Thanks

:goodvibes:goodvibes When I was in need to keep my "life saver" medications cold ( during a long trip from Italy to US mainland to Hawaii - even for 24 hours ) I purchased a Polar Bear product and it worked perfectly !!!

I've been lurking from afar as we are still in Colorado on vacation. I saw someplace on the main board that someone who is on a Magic Med cruise asked the Captain about future sailings. He mentioned that it was a strong possibilty that Venice and some Greek islands might be happening in 2013. Our family would be all over that one! ...if you search for "Talk on board Magic" you can find the thread.... :)

Once you get to MK you could see if the Baby Center (near Crystal Palace) can keep it in their fridge for you and re-freeze your ice pack. Then after MK you can restock some ice for the drive to port. Worth a shot....Good luck :) Laurie

HI Sherri,

We are staying at kidani village after the cruise too and have a 7.30pm ADr for Boma too on the 21st. :thumbsup2 We have never eaten there before.

Helen -- We love BOMA. The only thing I worry about is that after coming off the ship, we won't want to eat that day! :rotfl2:

Your dog is adorable. I've always wished we could've have reunited our dog with his doggie siblings. He was 1 of 10 and I have no idea where the others went.

Our wait list for BLT after the cruise just came through.:banana::banana: Probably telling the kids tomorrow about the cruise but not telling the kids about the world until we get on the bus after the cruise.

What a great way to end vacation. Your kids will be excited. I loved surprising our kids with a trip to WDW a couple years ago. Well worth it.

Hello all!
We are home from AZ now!! We found a wedding dress for DD!! :woohoo:
I was very surprised it happened as quick as it did. We went into one store, she tried on 5 dresses, and she kept going back to the second one she tried on. :woohoo:She told me she didn't need to go to another store because that dress was the one. So we bought it, and she has to get it altered a little and she will be good to go. She also picked her veil out too!!
Did I mention that I am a bit overwhelmed with so much to plan for!!:scared1:

The good news is, I am all set for my FE gifts!!:yay:

Candy -- congrats on the dress. You're so lucky she found THE dress so quickly. That one was meant to be. Good job on finishing up with your FE gifts. I am such a procrastinator - I must get started!

I like that rumor! In 2013, we'll be doing a cruise to celebrate DS11's Bar Mitzvah. That would be an awesome one to do!

It just took me almost 1/2 hr to read everything from the last 2 days cause I didn't get a chance to read last night-- paying bills gets in the way of having fun!

Have a great 4th of July weekend to everyone. I am so excited about having 3 days off of work cause the next time I get time off of work will be vacation!!!! :cool1: We're starting our vacation the Thursday night before the cruise by taking the boys to the American Idol concert in Baltimore. So, I figured if we were doing that, let's make that the offical start of vacation and I took off Friday too.

I am another one that is unhappy about this port arrival thing and am going to email my travel agent over the weekend as well as emailing the link that someone posted earlier. I do not want to have to pay another day of car rental because of this. Poor planning by Disney.

You all got some great deals on the Lands End stuff. It'll be easy to find you guys!

Love Kohls. Planning a shopping trip there on Sunday to pick up some deals for the trip. The boys need polos and 1 pair of dress pants for dinner. We live about 15 minutes from the MD/PA line and they don't have sales tax on clothes up there. Plus my discount card and in the mail today got $10 from them to spend for my birthday. What are the chances that I would only spend $10 at Kohls???? Never!

Let me know what your TA says. Mine told me to email DCL directly she also
emailed them!!

My TA is on the Magic in the Med right now so no word from her. Besides the posting from Dreams on Facebook and the fallout here, is it on the official website yet? I should have added that we hadn't even been notified of the change. Did they think that when our tickets arrived a few weeks before the cruise that would be sufficient notice? The whole way this has been handled just seems haphazard...I just can't imagine how they are going to handle/control the lines outside, especially from those who didn't know about the change

We were on the cruise before that, it was a special Eastern Caribbean itinerary that had stops at St. Thomas and Puerto Rico. I remember looking at the doppler radar map the ship posts and saw what turned out to be hurricane Frances forming. At the time I didn't know where we were in relation to the hurricane, but found out later it was following us home.

The August 28th cruise you were on was able to leave for its Western Caribbean itineray but on its way back had to "camp out" in Galveston while Frances ran across Florida. If I remember correctly you guys couldn't disembark at Port Canaveral, you wound up getting off at Port Everglades.

Just found these photos from the unofficial 10 night cruise thread - http://community.webshots.com/album/183535977toYppZ It's pictures of the Magic in Galveston, which I believe was the first time it went there. Now 7 years later it will be making regular stops.

Thank you for posting the pictures!!!

I will never forget....we were able to disembark in Galveston and walk around. As we were leaving, I asked one of the Border Guards what there was to do within walking distance. His reply was that Galveston was home to the largest Army Surplus Store. Not all the cute little shops, restaurants, etc....but the Army Surplus Store. It as just one of those moments when you say "thank you" and walk on.... ;) The people at the restaurant next to where the Magic docked gave us a huge cheer and wave as we left. Who knew they would be going back?

We felt bad for the folks waiting to board the ship. And couldn't believe DCL bussed some of the port team down to work at Port Everglades. It was reassuring to see familar, smiling DCL faces.

The ride back up to the Port was one of the quietest bus rides that I'd ever experienced. We saw so much damage and some of the folks on our bus lived in communities that we passed. Let's hope FL doesn't experience that type of month ever again!!!!

Hey all,

1st summer term session is over and my grades are in! Phew! :) Of course, session 2 starts on Tuesday... but once that is over, the cruise is here!

I noticed that the 5-day (Tues) Navigators are up on the DIS site in much better quality--you can really zoom in on them. Here's the link if you haven't checked it out yet:
