Hi guys - I was wondering when do you break for the summer is it soon? Sadly we dont break up till July 22nd Work always gets crazy this time of year We go back September 5th.

As Amanda pointed out - colleges pretty much are wrapping up their spring semesters now. As for the rest of the education system - it varies across the US. The NE generally wraps up mid to late June with some districts going longer to make up snow days. Schools in the south, I believe start and end earlier then schools here in the NE.

Our elementary schools are changing to trimesters next year - same September - June schedule, but broken into trimesters instead of quarters. Are others here in the US seeing the same thing?

How is weather now ?
We could use some refreshing rain !
Today , during my commute from school , there were nearly 90° F , sun and hot winds .............
I'm marking my papers while sipping a lemon/ orange shave-ice !!!!

Saw a wee bit of blue sky today...no glimpse of the sun here.

My kids are in private school and have always had trimesters instead of quarters. They go from right after Labor Day, usually the 4th-8th of Sept. and School ends around the 3rd week of June. They finish June 22nd this year. I am ready for summer vacation!

We booked Remy for night 2, but I'm not sure if we are going to keep it. I want to try all the restaurants and $150 extra for dinner is steep. But I didn't want to pass on it and then decide I wanted it.

My daughter is in 4th grade and our district has been doing trimesters for the elementary schools (not sure about the upper grades) since she was in kindergarten.

It has worked well for us so far. I like our grading system as well. Instead of the traditional letter or number grades, they use the following in combination w/ specific goals:

E = Exceeding
M = Meeting
A = Approaching
B = Beginning

I prefer this for elementary school. Tells me she is and isn't proficient at specific goals & objectives, and the school district has a complete list of the specific objectives where they illustrate specifically what E, M, A, & B look like for each.... so we can work on things at home if we need to!

Is there just the 1 signature form to print when you do the online checkin? I have 1 form for each of my rooms. The form for my room is two pages because I am the person paying for everything for both rooms. Is there anything I am missing?

You will! Im in the same case, the other couple traveling with us havent pay in full yet, but from our other cruises I know that DCL reserves certain amount of reservations for the ones that dont use computer, and until now we have been able to book the brunch/dinner every time on board. Worst case, we have a reservation aswell for the 3rd night at 7:30 pm and will keep it for your friends since we have decided that we don't want to use it, the reason we made it at 7:30p is because sunset happen at that time! and the views from Palo are SPECTACULAR at sunset, later than that you just see the little lights and the reflecion of the inside of the restaurant in the windows. xoxo Elcka

Hi Elcka -

You are so sweet. We have Palo reserved for 6pm on Night 3. I always like to go early just in case we want to go grab the kids and go to the show afterwards. Though, I always like to make Palo night...adult night out Though, I will take any time on Night 3 as long as I can go with our friends. She deserves it! I think if we show the Palo staff her scar from her brain surgery, they might feel bad if not, they can sit on our laps!

Been busy here too! Things are starting to slow down. Now I think I really need to get serious about losing weight before the cruise though! I'm running out of time!!

We actually had more than normal rain this year. We even had rain Tues. when my niece got married. It was definitely not normal.

Question for those of you playing "travel agent" with family members' linked reservations:

When you log in to their reservation (say to set up their online check-in), do they have to have their own Disney/DCL account? I tried using my account with the other cabin res# and birthday (matching who I think is the lead traveler) but couldn't log in. TIA!
