Oh my gosh Joe, that is scarey about the plane hitting a de-icing tower!!:scared1::scared1:

Holy Snow here, we have about 21 inches of new snow that fell last night.......So NO SCHOOL HERE!!!!!!!!!!!! Love a snow day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:thumbsup2:cool1::banana::yay::woohoo:

Wow!! That's a lot of snow!!! Enjoy your snow day!! And stay warm!

THIS is amazing too !!! :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

Unfortunately here we do not get so much snow ...
so our pupils have just some minor issues ... like arriving late at school and being scolded by the principal ... BUT WE NEVER CLOSE SCHOOLS !!!!

;) I told my students that in NY area they had schools closed for many days and ... :rotfl2: I got this comment :
:rotfl: I knew it : I was born in the wrong place !!! :rotfl2:

SERIOUSLY though : stay safe all of you !!!!
laura :grouphug:

We don't get any snow here where I live. Our schools never close either! I'm telling you, California should be the sunshine state instead of the golden state. We have far more days of sunshine than clouds and rain. Our weather is very boring. I guess that's what happens when you live close to a desert.

Kristen-You beat us with snow, we probably got 15".

Here's what my backyard view is (we lost the net during the last storm):

When Jim tried logging into work this morning there was a message that 1-95 was closed due to three seperate accidents, Merritt Parkway was closed in sections and Metro North wasn't running due to line troubles. :sad2: Needless to say, he's working from home today.

Wow that is a lot of snow!!! I think it looks beautiful though! Stay warm!

:) Have you already read this review about REMY ??

http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2011/01/26/disney-dream-remy/

Surely the new restaurant is " A BEAUTY" & the menu so inviting ... though IMHO the extra charge seems quite "high" ...

Is someone planning a visit to Remy ?? :cloud9:

Quote : When guests leave Remy, women will either receive a red rose (to signify romance, if the woman is part of a couple) or a pink rose (to signify beauty). Guests will also find a treat when they return to their staterooms on the ship — a box of chocolates courtesy Remy!

WOW !! I had this "royal" treat when dining at :cloud9: Victoria & Albert's Chef Table ....

MANGEZ VRAI !!!!! laura

Remy sounds great, but I'm not planning on visiting. Palo brunch is what I would really like to do.
Are you planning on visiting Remy?

:scared1::scared1: OMG !!! WE have seen snow like that ;) ONLY in Christmas cards !!!! :confused3

Does NorthEast always get SO MUCH SNOW / STORMS ... or is this Winter specially rough ?
I'm confused as NY in fact is on the same latitude as Naples ... ;) where now they go strolling along the sea in jeans and t shirt ( maybe a jumper at sunset ...)

STAY SAFE and WARM !!!!

laura :goodvibes

The last two winters have been unusally rough. We usually average about 19 inches total each winter. I can recall a few winters where we got less than 5 inches... Last year we topped out at a record 85+ inches :scared1: I've lost track this winter, but with the 15 inches we got last night we have to approaching 40-45 inches!

Oh my gosh that is a lot of snow. Sorry, about your trampoline. Bruce, actually only left the metal frame out this year...I took some pictures I will have to post them later on just got in from sledding..!!

This is unusual for us. I don't remember a winter like this, EVER! We're seeing snowfall every few days with accumulation.

We've hit a new record this month, close to 60 inches of snow :scared1:

Part of the problem is it hasn't warmed up or melted any of the previous snowfalls so the piles are just growing, nor have we seen any rain to melt them. When it starts to melt it is going to be a MESS!

On a good note, it is pretty snow. Our evergreen trees in the back look especially lovely with their snowcaps.

I had Anthony clear off the trampoline last night, so only todays snow was on it. My driveway isn't as bad as yours is yet, but it's getting there. It was an easy enough ride down today, took only 5 minutes more than normal. I heard a little more snow coming tomorrow/Saturday, then another storm brewing for Tuesday...

Hi Everyone! We'll be joining you on this very (DIS)full cruise!

My DP and I are just back from a Western Caribbean, and we rebooked on to the 8/16 double-dip to celebrate my parents' 40th anniversary. Hopefully my brother and his gf are coming as well.

I'm in total cruise withdrawal, so I hope planning this trip can hold me over! :)

:welcome:

Here are some pictures of the girls in the snow today!!

ENJOY!!

Thanks for all the warm welcomes! :) We are pretty buried in snow as well--this is the university's second delayed opening. Fortunately I missed the previously closing (while we were on the cruise), but we got some rain and rocky seas from the cold front.

Our cruise was OUTSTANDING! It was our first on DCL, and I'm glad we gave it a shot after some hit-or-miss trips on other cruise lines. It will be interesting to see how much bigger the Dream feels after being on the Magic! I keep saying we are going to write a trip report--hopefully that will get started this weekend (first I have a letter to DCL to finish), which means we get to start going through the pictures. :) I would say the one lowlight of the trip was our stop in Mexico--I think we'll be avoiding any Mexican ports for a while.

This thread moves fast! I can't believe how much reading there is to catch up on each day! :)

So glad to hear that your first cruise was AWESOME!! I think that is how we all get "hooked"!! We did not care for the Mexician ports either......

Was it warm on your cruise??

How much snow did you guys get in Boston??

OMG - the weather gurus are already saying there's going to be another huge east coast storm next week!?! There's also two clippers coming through tomorrow and Saturday. Time to abandon ship!! :rotfl2:

From a Philly news site - some videos of thundersnow. When it happens - it's kind of eerie, but on the other hand when the lightning flashes it reflects off all the snow and is pretty cool!!

Welcome to all our new cruisers and hello to everyone!!

Yup, we are tired of the snow! :rolleyes1 Soooo looking forward to spring!!

They don't know yet - I think they try to get everyone in a stir to score ratings or something. Clearly we are stuck in a nasty pattern though.

I often time think they do this for the rating too...But this storm our weather people wayyyyy underestimated the amount of snow we would get!!

Hello all.
I hope everyone is staying warm.
Anyone know when the maiden voyage cruisers are coming back? I can't wait to read about their experiences!
