Hey all...

Juts finalized the last piece of the accomodations for our Florida trip for the summer :). We have rented a house for 10 nights prior to teh cruise and hope to do Discovery Cove, Harry potter, Sea World and maybe a waterpark or two. Then the cruise and after we are staying at AKL! It will be a first for us, the last two times we stayed at the Poly...

Nice to have that secured... now to figure out where to dine during that time.

Hello all!
I just wanted to pop in and say hi! It has been a super busy day for me today, and I have a meeting later tonight. I got about 3-4 hours of sleep last night and I am completely exhausted. I have so much to do before my meeting tonight. I'm hoping I can squeeze in a power nap....it's going to be a long night! I'm going to try to go back and read some posts later. I hope everyone is having a great day!

HI Candy,

Hope you get a nap in before your meeting........

CONGRATS, on getting all of your plans figured out!!!!!!!

Chilly morning here in CT, but I guess to Jen 5 degrees would seem warm. DH has been shoveling snow off roofs two weekends in a row (and not ours), lots of friends and family are having problems with ice dams and water damage. More snow predicted Tues, Wed and Thursday this week, but I think they are being downgraded.

We are on Day 5 of snow days. The distict will allow one more and then it starts taking away from April break, but with Thursday first. So the kids would be off Mon-Wed, school Thursday and off again Friday for Good Friday. Does this make any sense :confused3 My fingers are crossed for morning delays or early dismissals. As much as I love a snow day I'm sick of them now.

Kristen, so jealous of your Dream tour. What a great experience. Fingers crossed for your family that it all works out for you.

Loving all the videos posted with ship tours. My DS is already complaining that he doesn't think the Edge is as cool as his sisters Vibe :sad2: UGH!

I need to start spending some time trying to find flights and car rentals. My parents have decided to drive. We're the only family going the week before (staying in timeshare) and will leave Sunday after cruise. DD starts High School and I don't want to risk her missing an orientation, plus the sports teams start practicing in August. Need to get the kiddies back home.

Stay warm everyone!

Looking forward to both. This August will be a blast since it is our largest traveling party ever. Four staterooms linked with 7 adults and 7 children. I hope that Sasha moves from the Magic to the Dream, he was wonderful during our Halloween cruise.

Since we are at the DVC 7 month mark we were able book our Wilderness Lodge Villa rooms. We booked a one and two bedroom for 08/21 - 08/24.

We are going to Universal for 3 days before the cruise. We booked 3 days at the Comfort Suite at Universal. $80 a night with a AAA discount. We thought about staying "on property" at Universal, but the rates were $300+ per night. There are benefits to staying on property, but the cost outweighs the benefits so CIS it is. :thumbsup2

Beth: I hope all is well. Did you book anything for your birthday cruise?

Jeff

Hey Jeff,
Thanks for your advice about the concierge bookings for our May cruise. I emailed the concierge people for the 5/19 cruise with the dining requests. Since this will be the 3 day cruise with only Steve, I told them we weren't that interested in doing the regular dining restaurants, especially since we'll be doing them with the kids on the 8/16 cruise. So I managed to get Palo for the second night and Remy for my birthday night. And that first night: I think we'll just stay in our room and order room service.

One tip for everyone who is doing concierge (not us on the Aug cruise!): even though I emailed the concierge desk beforehand, I also did get on at midnight when the 120 day booking started. Lo and behold, it was undergoing maintenance (seems to be happening a lot from what I've been reading on the boards). So when I woke up in the morning around 5ish I got online then, was able to book a couple spa treatment, but wasn't able to book Palo or Remy as it said that nothing was available. When the concierge phone line opened a few hours later, I called and managed to book the two restaurants. The concierge told me it was a good thing I called because the ressies were going fast even at the 120 mark. And later on in the day, someone else called me from concierge and told me they had just seen my email. Apparently, it wasn't really looked until then. So I'm glad I took those extra steps.

Glad to hear that you will be at the Wilderness Lodge afterwards and it looks like our dates coincide nicely too! The girls will be very happy to see even more of Little Miss Sarah.

Hey everyone,

I was at our local Disney Outlet on Saturday. The store had a huge sale on costumes (the good princess ones they sell at the park) for $16 which is a huge savings over regular prices. So Skye and Hope are now proud owners of garb worn by Jasmine, Pocohantas and Belle. Needless to say, there were lots of princess tea parties going on in my house this weekend.princess:princess:princess:

HI Laura,

I am still here. FINALLY, feeling better. It was a looooooooooooong week here. First two weeks ago DH got into a car accident on the way home from work in a snow-storm. Well, that was the start of our bad few weeks. Then last Sat. our well-pump started giving us trouble and they told us they would be out on MLK day to fix it. Well, they came out and got stuck in the snow in our front lawn. So they had to have a tow-truck come and get them out of the front lawn.....:scared1::scared1:Lets just say the front lawn is not going to look very pretty come spring-time.......Then on Sunday night. I had the worst pain in my tooth and went to the dentist on Monday and they said I needed an emergencey root-canal that the tooth had absessed.....UGH!! I was terrified to have it so I went to an oral surgeon to see if I could have the tooth extracted instead of the root-canal......No Luck...The surgeon did not want to extract it out!! So as luck would have it we had no school on Tuesday.......so I went to have the emergency root-canal on Tuesday afternoon in an ice-storm and needless to say they could not fix the well on Tuesday due to the ice-storm, so another day without water and having to shower at my moms house. I was soo scared to have the root-canal they had to give me valium and a few other drugs....Well, I had it done but it was terrible since it was soo absessed and infected..On Wed. they had to come and fix the well and we had a delay for school which was good since it allowed me time to rest since I was still in such pain. I am on antibotics now four times a day and today is the first day that I am feeling a bit better. Finally, on Wed. after DH missing a third day of work they were able to fix the well-pump, and it only cost a mear, $4,113.00!!!:scared1::scared1:So we had to do laundry and shower at my parents house and eat there for the remainder of the week since there was still sediment, and chlorine in the well water. Every-hour we had to run a hose in the freezing cold outside for 8-10 minutes to try to clear the sediment and chlorine from the well-water. Today, we showered here and things are semi-back to "Normal." And on top of everything else the snow-blower broke and DH had to take it this morning with our friend to get it repaired. It will not be repaired in time for this upcoming snow storm. At least we got another day off on Friday. But it was fun to be home with still not much water....LOL!! Our plow-guy will have to not only plow the driveway but the walk-ways too.......So in short that was our week and that is why I was MIA!! Not a GREAT week by any means. But I do have some EXCITING NEWS TO SHARE.............I will share that in my next post...........HINT IT HAS TO DO WITH THE DREAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, some of you know that DH finally broke down and agreed to let us go to WDW for the twin's 9th Birthday. So we will be going to OKW for five nights with my parents.........SHHHHHHHHHHHHH, the twins do not know!!

We plan to pick them-up early from school and tell them when they get into the car that we are headed to the airport!!!!

Our friend works for DCL and is currently working on the DREAM....A few of you had the opportunity to meet her on our last cruise!!! She is GREAT!!

She had the opportunity to bring the Dream over to PC..........She has keep us informed about how GREAT and BEAUTIFUL of a ship she truely is...............

Well, she wanted to make sure that she saw the twins for their birthday and wanted to do something nice for them......Well, we are headed the morning of their 9th BIRTHDAY to the DREAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are going to get a tour of the DREAM and the twins will hopefully, weather permitting get to ride the AQUADUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!! We plan on waking them up the morning of their Birthday at OKW and telling them that we are headed to PC to see our friend and not tell them that we are going onto the DREAM for a tour, etc.....until we get there and see our friend..................................................................This was the only good thing that happened all week.......I had to forward all of our passport information, etc....to our friend so she could get us "cleared" from DCL to board the ship for the day......................I am sooo excited. We were supposed to do this one other time on the Magic and then she got pulled into a corporate meeting so we are all keeping our fingers crossed that it works out this time. I can't wait to see this BEAUTIFUL ship and know that this will be one birthday that they never will forget!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She could only get the four of us onboard so my parents are going to drive down to PC with us and have lunch and hang out, etc...............................

I have missed chatting with all of you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow, sounds like you guys have been on a roller coaster ride! and not in a good way. At least it seems as if everything is getting sorted out now, and how exciting to be able to preview the Dream for a day! I always wondered who those "day people" were when they would announce that all people not cruising had to disembark.

Beth

Where is the Disney outlet? Are you talking about the one at Potomac Mills?

to sdchickie: YES, the one at Potomac Mills. I was blown away by the costume sale!

to minniemouse07: Yay! It will be fun running into fellow Dream cruisers afterwards at the Wilderness Lodge. Perhaps we'll see you and your family pool-side at both venues! Skye was scared of going down the water slide at the WL the last time we were there. I have a feeling she'll be going down it with gusto on the August trip, especially if she tries out the Aqua Duck first. Hope is eager to do both, but Skye isn't so sure about the Aqua Duck. Time will tell....

Hello Everyone,

My wife is looking for magnet paper and can't find it at the traditional office supply stores. Any suggestions:confused3

Joe

When I did mine, I printed them on regular paper, had them laminated at Staples, then just used a roll of magnet, and cut it into pieces and stuck it on the back.

Make sure you escape before the next snow "event"!!

It was 3 degrees when I woke up there this morning. Thankfully, it did snow there over the weekend. I am not back in Florida and back in 70 degree weather.

The house inspection went very well. Nothing major which is a relief. Up next, the appraisal. Hopefully, it goes as well as the inspection did. Fingers crossed...

Hi everyone,
My family and I will be joining all of you on the Dream. Can't wait to sit and relax and enjoy the ship.
Sent all of my information to jenanderson and I am looking forward to chatting with everyone.:goodvibes
On the cruise will be me, DH, DD18 and DD15 (at time of cruise)

I know I could not get back on either last night........What are they predicting for you in terms of weather this week??!!

Though it's a balmy 21 degrees here at the moment :rotfl: the "forecasters" are calling for temps to creep into the mid 30s by mid-week so we're looking at rain or a mix here.
