Jen, I'm sorry to hear that you are now unemployed! I can't believe that you would make more money subbing then you did at your school! I always thought pivate schools paid good! Good luck in your search.:)

I think that our lanyards were $2-$3, they were pretty cheap. That was a good idea. T-shirts are a good idea too, of course I don't know if my guys would be too excited about t-shirts....they did wear my tie dyes for embarkation though!:rotfl2::rotfl:
It is HOT here today...92 with a heat index of 105!!!!!! Ugh! and it's not even officially summer yet!

Thanks for the laynard info...I was thinking $2, but wasn't totally sure.

Don't complain about your heat...we are rainy and going to be lucky to his 60°...I need some heat! I actually put a pot of chili on for supper tonight because it is so damp and cold here. :sad2:

Lanyards sound good. Do you remember how you got them? Did everyone pay one person in advance or did somebody just volunteer to buy them and then have everyone pay at the cruise? I'm guessing they'll be lime green :thumbsup2
I think we should all get matching drink coozies!

Terri -

Nope...not lime green! I tried to find lime green but I couldn't get them for any cheap price.

I designed them, people approved them and then I ordered them all. I paid for it and most people sent me the money. Some people paid me at the port though. I passed most of them out while we were waiting to board.

They were black and the writing was white - they had the name of our cruise on them, the name of the ship and a couple of Mickey heads.

I love matching drink things too but most people drink out of mugs.

Jen, I might have the website somewhere for the landyards. I will have to look. They were about two dollars a piece and they were really nice.

Hope everyone had a nice Monday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I might still have the website for the lanyards someplace too. I can also search for it again if people are interested. I did really like the lanyard and felt they were really practical.

I bet you are counting down the days to freedom and your Disney trip!!!

I was reading some stuff about recent 5 night cruises and I have to say as much as I am looking forward to this cruise...there are things I am going to miss.

Our family LOVED formal night and when I look at the navigator that was posted, the closest I see is "Dress Up" as evening attire (day at sea). Then when I go to the navigator for that night, it says "OPTIONAL DRESS UP". This makes it sound like it is a barely a semi formal evening. :sad2: DD and I are sad because there are so few occasions where we can get all dressed up and it was one of our most favorite things on the last cruise.

Also, someone was posting that there is NO lobster on the 5 night. Again, this was a special menu deal on formal night. When I look on the navigator for the optional dress up night, there are no special menus listed. It looks like it is just a normal menu. I really think for the price of the cruise, they could do one special night with lobster or some special dishes.

I am going to LOVE another double dip and other great things about a new ship, but I am going to be wishing it was a 7 night cruise in so many ways.

Jen, I know what you are talking about. Five nights, especially when you travel across the country is just not long enough.

Every cruise that we have went on from 3-7 nights has not been long enough. We haven't wanted to get off on any of them. That's one of the reasons Candy and I have planned the 15 night Wonder repo in January. 15 nights may take care of our cruise fix.

We agree with you... We loved to have a special night to dress up. We have done a five night before and while it is totally "Magical" it was less formal than the 7 night. The double dip is going to be GREAT.

Hi everyone! Hope you're all doing well. :)
2 more weeks of school left!!! :yay:

Just wanted to chime in about the lanyards...I like the idea! :thumbsup2 Let me know if I can be of any help

We aren't really a formal family, but it was fun to dress up. we wern't as dressed up as you though! :) I do wish it was a 7 nighter though! 5 is going to go by fast.

I wish we could go one the 15 nighter! There's no way DS could miss that many days of school. Oh well, maybe one day we will get to do a long cruise like that! You will have to take lots of pics an tell us about it!

2 more weeks seems so long! When do you guys start school that you have to go so late?

I will have to find our lanyards, take a picture and post it so you all can see what they looked like. I really did like them.

So far I have not been doing a whole lot with my summer vacation. I did finish a job application this morning (I hate all the essay questions on teacher applications). I also ran resumes and such to 2 schools that may be hiring long terms subs for the start of the year.

Time to answer some of my PM and e-mails!
Jen

This year we started September 9... And we had a couple of snow days that also added to the school year. I hate that we end soooo late!

Wow! I was just thinking it had been awhile since I checked in here, and had to go track down the new thread! No wonder!

I'm pretty focused on the WBTA we're doing this September, then will turn my attention to this cruise. But I still check prices daily waiting for 9A to come available again so I can move my onboard booking. Though I've seen a 9B room available the past few evenings and the price is higher than we originally booked at, so the onboard booking may not help us very much afterall.

Take care!

Hello fellow cruisers and AquaDuck riders, had to save us from the middle of page 3...Enjoy your day! :goodvibes

Hello Everyone! I am off today since DS's daycare is closed so that the teachers can prepare for the summer program. I love spending Mommy and son time with him. We are going to Target, Giant, & BJs. He likes going shopping. He's a little roadrunner.

I like the idea of lanyards. Jen, please post a picture if you are able to find yours.

It's a beautiful day here in So. MD. It is suppose to get hot and humid over the weekend.

Have a wonderful and blessed weekend. To all the fathers, Happy Father's Day!

A 15 nighter is our dream!!! But that might be a couples cruise - maybe in the far, far future!! LOL.

I'm a little bummed that there is no formal night on the 5 day. Jen and her family looked so awesome on our 7 night cruise - I wish we had been as dressed up!!

We still have 1 more week of school left. Kevin has a few regents exams left at the high school and Tess has her 5th grade "moving up" ceremony next week. Who the heck schedules something like that at 9:30AM?? I can take the time off but I suspect many parents might not. :confused3

Next Thursday is the last day of school and it's a half day. Tess has had an annual "end of the year pool party" since 2d grade, with all the girls form her particular class invited. Well, this year she decided that because several of her good friends are spread out over the 3 5th grades, she's invite EVERY GIRL IN THE 5TH GRADE. Yup, I'm hosting 36 girls on Thursday from 11:30AM - 4PM. :scared1::scared1::scared1: I am praying that it doesn't rain!! (can you imagine 36 girls running rampant through a house? OMG...) And, on that note, I am trying to plan for some games. Maybe a scavenger hunt, hula hoop contests etc. If anyone has any fun ideas (as well as fun ideas for prizes) please let me know!!

As for the lanyards, I'm still using mine from our last cruise for my work ID!! It cheers me up some mornings to look down and see Mickey around my neck!! :goodvibes

Tonight is opening night at our local pro farm baseball team - and it's fireworks night. Go ValleyCats!!:cool1:

Yikes! I can't imagine 36 pre-teen girls anywhere!!!! I would be more than :scared1: I guess if it rains you could do a movie and popcorn. As for prizes you could give out those rubber band bracelets (silly bands) that are shaped like different things. Good luck!
I think a lanyard is a great idea too, I didn't even think about putting my school ID on it.

Hey Everyone,

Happy Father's Day weekend to all the dads out there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
