Castaway Cay times two!!! We cruised from LA on our last DCL cruise so we didn't get to go to CC! Very excited!!!!:goodvibes

We were able to double dip on our last cruise because of an unexpected change in itineraries. While we were sad not to go on our eastern cruise, top stops at Castaway Cay were heavenly! :cloud9:

Just wanted to share...
In July while on our family vacation we had our family portraits taken by David and Vicki Arndt Photography at the Poly. They came out fantastic and were very reasonablably priced! The Disney property makes a great background for family photos and just thought I would share in case anyone wanted to try them out... maybe before or after the cruise next year! I already can't wait to get our portraits taken again... Boardwalk next time, I think!

I have wanted to try this so bad but it never seems to work out. Your pictures are BEAUTIFUL! It makes me think I might need to consider the family photos there again.

I can't pick just one thing because it will ALL be a first for us (except the actual action of going ON a cruise).

First time driving down, first family stay at WL, first family visit to Kennedy Space Center, first time sailing from PC, first time going to Nassau...plus first DCL cruise including everything that includes.

If I listed it all I would run out of space!

Well we definitely plan on Remy too...thankfully we are Platinum so that should help...

Chuck:cool1:

Oh Cool! So when your date comes up, can you make a reservation for ohh......I don't know....87? :)

Actually, I wasn't all that impressed with the sample menu. I am not a foodie and a bit picky. However, I've eaten at Victoria & Albert's twice and LOVED it, but I didn't see much that got me excited in that sample Remy menu. I figure that it will change when it actually opens, so I will see then! We may just stick to Palo.

Hello All. I cannot believe summer is coming to an end. My DD's start on Monday 8/30 - One is HS and One in Middle School. :scared1: Where has the time gone? :confused3

Answer to the question:

I would say to explore the new boat, the aquaduct and my eldest DD is looking forward to the teen area and their own spa!

Janeanne

Well not really sure you can completely expect Victoria & Albert's equivalent at sea, and I agree that V&A is outstanding as we too have eaten there (even borrowed the loaner blue blazer I forgot to pack, which is saying something b/c they actually had one that fits - I am 6'8" tall), but we like french food very much...besides, what's to stop us from eating at both Remy and Palo...just b/c you cannot necessarily reserve both in advance does not mean you cannot find a way...

I am hoping that since my kids are older, that DH and I will be able to try the adults only part of CC. DS was afraid to stay in the clubs last cruise, so we are hoping that will change and we can have some adults only time!!

QUESTION OF THE WEEK #2

Oh my! I forgot to post this yesterday!

I questions are posted on or web site and I copied all of your answers from last week and put them there as well. If you ever miss answering one and want to chime in on an old question...feel free to post it and I will try to get it updated! :thumbsup2

So, here is our second question...

What is something NEW (either on the ship or something you haven't done on a cruise) that you are looking forward to?

Can't wait to hear all the answers!

My DD is really looking forward to the spa as well. I told her to start saving her money! :rotfl2:

I am just hoping for one brunch at this point. I love the brunch at Palo and hope I will be able to get a reservation there. I bet if you work at it you will be able to get both Remy and Palo! :thumbsup2

We loved our last cruise because our kids were finally old enough to be on their own a bit more. We really enjoyed the adult pool on the ship and just doing things on the ship as a couple. We had wonderful family time as well but it was great to spend a bit of time with just DH (or other adults).

I have kind of started my FE gifts but have to figure out how to do the big thing that will tie it all together. I am excited though because I think it will be a great gift! :thumbsup2

Hi all, just popping in for a quick sec! Been working wayyyyyyyyyyyyy too many hours lately.
My kids start after Labor Day also.
We are outta here tomorrow morning, off the WDW for our 20th anniversary!!! 2 nights at CR, then to BWV for the next 7 nights. Maybe after we get back and work cools off I can finally start cruise planning!

Have a great holiday weekend if I am not back on here before then.

Enjoy your trip and your last bit of vacation! I can't wait to hear all about it when you come back. I will be especially interested in the crowd levels since this will be about the time we will be at WDW next summer.

HI Janeanne,

We start school on Monday too it is such a bummer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mine are a little excited and have had orientations this week. Everyone will be out of the house by 7am next week. Wow - what a change!!

Are we splitting the list? I am not sure how many to start getting. I want to start making mine soon - got lots of ideas from the last cruise. :wizard: Many people put us to shame last time!! Do you have a JPEG of the pictures without the dates?

Janeanne

Emily had her orientation today. It was a little sad to have my little girl to go her HIGH SCHOOL orientation! :sad2: She looked totally ready to go though. :thumbsup2

We are splitting the list. Everyone will have 20 people maximum to do gifts for. After getting messages from some people, we want to be careful about not having too many due to flying restrictions and such. I will not split the list up until we get closer to the cruise date but you can count on 20.

All the graphics I have are on our cruise website. I don't remember who made the original graphic but all the ones I have include the date. Maybe someone will chime in if they have the original graphic. :thumbsup2
