August 15th is good week for our trip of a lifetime?

We can change date of dh's vacation at work 1 time and it just so happens there is 1 opening for 3 weeks in August.

Hopefully we will get back out that way in a couple of yrs but it not written in stone...

Only thing is I'll have to move parents 60th Anniversary celebration up a couple of weeks nothing was actually planned yet so no real biggie other than I was thinking of doing it during a family reunion an inviting both sides of family an any friends who wanted to attend...NOT sure parents would have been up to doing it that way anyway.

WHY 3 week vacation for disneyland? we are riding harley out cannot depend on weather there should not be much rain in august but one never knows an we don't want to HAVE to make trip in 3 or 4 days. Same on the way back we'd much rather know we can take a bit of time not have to ride so hard an enjoy ride more....

Little chance of rain in So Cal. But along the way? Probably. I think Aug 15 is a fine week for the trip of a lifetime. APs are blocked out. Rides and entertainment are maxed out. It will be hot by SoCal standards. Choose a close hotel and take afternnon breaks.

We are planning to be there the week of the 15th. A great week as Hydroguy stated.

The only time we went in Mid-August, we had a very good experience. It was hot, and crowded, but still manageable. August was much better than our September trip the following year.

As far as rain, don't forget that August is Monsoon time in the Southwest. The storms are often short-lived but can be extreme. So, map your route accordingly.
