August 13, 2011 Med - Mickey's Marauding Mates

Good luck!

Ever since my Disney trip last year, the weight just will not come off. I tried the 30 Day Shred (Jillian Michael's) workout yesterday from Exercise TV On Deman because I figure I can do 20 minutes a day. Acutally bought the dvd at Target today for $10. Otherwise, I do nothing and I have so much difficulty finding time to exercise- guess I should work out rather than being on the DIS.

My son is home sick today and it is strep throat! Ugh. Poor little guy is really uncomfortable. My dad got here for a long weekend visit. Hope he doesn't catch anything. We were supposed to go watch my son play baseball tonight but can't do that now.

Hope your son is feeling better. My son is home sick today as well with a throat infection. He was supposed to go on an outing last night with Beavers but refused to go. Obviously he wasn't feeling well but at the time didn't tell us that. I just thought he was being difficult. Poor wee mite.

Awww. That sucks. Hope he feels better soon - seems like the Meds for that these days kick in pretty quick. Don't let him kiss all over Grandpa for a few days!!

I was hungry right on cue about 2 1/2 hours after I ate!:rotfl: I forgot how long it takes to get my stomach used to the idea of a lack of food!! I have never had to diet much in my life - but find that age is creeping up on me & I have to watch more than I used to. I am going to get some Tostitos Scoops & Salsa tomorrow at the store so I have a snack that I can keep around to eat without consuming tooooo many calories. The salsa has almost NO calories & I think I can have like 15 of the Scoops. The only time I've ever TRIED to loose weight I kept a food diary & counted calories. It took awhile but it worked. All that hunger came back today in a flash of bad memories!! :rotfl2: A teacher / counselor from the high school where my DS will go next year was on the Biggest Loser this year...she just got kicked off last week. At least I am not in that boat...but it definitely wouldn't hurt to loose 5 Lbs!!!

Concert went well - they had 5 bands / choral groups perform but they managed to get it over in an hour!!:thumbsup2 I hate it when they start going over like 1 1/2 hours. That is just too long. This was tolerable.

I know what you mean but needing to lose a couple of pounds, I could do with that as well but I just don't have any will par to cut back. I just try and do a bit more exercise! A few of my friends are on the slimming world diet and are all losing weight but it just doesn't appeal to me. At least I have lost the few pounds I had put on while in Florida this year:)

Thanks and I hope your son will also feel better soon! My little guy's throat still hurts. He had a fever this morning but it hasn't returned since I gave him advil at 7:30 so hopefully that's a good sign!

What is the slimming world diet?

HEY ya'll - Mr. A. just reported on his thread that the prices had started to go up on his cruise so I just went to have a look at ours & lo & behold ours has started to go up too!!!! west&east - you our new friend booked JUST in the nick of time!!!! Since I have flopped dates & cabin categories more than once I was able to check a couple of things. First, our old inside Cat 10A's have gone up $220 pp for persons 1 & 2 but I don't think it changed for persons 3 & 4. Now here's the scary part - our Cat 5C just went up from $1,829 pp to $2,459 pp for persons 1 & 2 - an increase of $630 pp!!!!! Again, I don't think they raised the price on persons 3 & 4 - but this price is more in line with the OLD prices they had started out with before they slashed them on June 20 I think. I am pretty sure that the verandah cabins were originally starting at about $1,200 more than our old 10A was.

I blew my diet last night by dinner (had McDonald's after the band concert). Today for breakfast I had 1/2 of a bagel with a smidge of cream cheese for breakfast (next week I'll go back to boring old oatmeal but today I just wanted to finish off the bagels that we still had). Then for lunch I had a salad with "light" dressing. Now tonight...I'm blowing it again! Chipotle - Barbacoa Bowl!!!!! :rotfl2:

OH, BTW, I did a "test pack" in one of these new "international size" carry-ons that I bought yesterday. I surprised even myself.:) I was able to get 1 large & 1 medium packing cube in it. Between those & the organizing pockets I was able to pack 1 pr. of PJ's, 3 pr. of underwear, 1 bathing suit + a cover-up, 1 pr. of capris, 4 pr. of shorts, 7 short sleeve tops, 1 long sleeve top, 1 3/4 length sleeve top, 1 tank, 2 pr. of sandals & a small toiletry bag AND it only weighed 18 Lbs fully loaded. :thumbsup2

Hope all the kiddos are feeling better!:goodvibes It is supposed to be a nice weekend here - I have to clean out & shut down my pond for the winter.:headache: I HATE this job!!!

Oh No! We didn't book yet. We were going to wait until we were on the ship. A gamble that didn't pay off. :sad2:

OMG! Oh NOOOO!! I forgot you hadn't actually BOOKED yet!! Oh DOH!!!!! I am so sorry!!! What kind of category were you going to book?? That sucks!!

Hey Jeff - there's a thread going about the Med price increases & the best speculation is that perhaps they've raised the prices like this bcuz theyr'e getting ready to offer like a KSF deal or something for new bookings only!! So I'll keep my fingers crossed that maybe they do something like that for you - THEN you'd wouldn't be in too bad of shape maybe?! Depending on the category you want to to book. :confused3

Wow, the price increase is crazy. Just priced it out of curiosity and for cat5c for 4 of us the total increase is $1260! So, Annie is correct they didn't raise the price on the 3rd and 4th in cabin. Wow.
Jeff, maybe you will be the one with the last laugh if they end up with some other promo.

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend. It is absolutely gorgeous here, sunny and in the mid 70. DD lost her soccer game this morning but it was a good fight. DS is still dragging from strep but is improving.

Oh forgot to add something strange that I noticed. The price for Cat 5B is now lower than 5C although still about $550 per person less than the current price for 5C. Still a bit higher than what we paid for 5C before the increase, but it is interesting that 5B is now cheaper. The price for 3rd and 4th in cabin is identical at $899 per person in both categories, in fact it is $899 for all verandah cabins (not concierge).

Yeah it does. We wanted to book a category 5 of some kind. Not sure if I should rush in and do it now or just wait. I think at this point I'm just gonna wait til we are on board.

I think the 5b pricing is the same price as what we were looking at before (for the 5C) since we only started looking at this a month or so ago. Wondering if I should just bite the bullet and book it and then rebook on board to get the discounts.

I just re-read what I wrote earlier and realized the second sentence doesn't make sense. Not sure what I was trying to say, must have needed my midday caffeine. In any case. you can currently book a 5B for just a little bit more than what we paid for a 5C a few weeks ago, so it isn't so bad. The 5Cs went way up for some reason.

I think you are correct. I recall our TA telling us we could move midship (5B) for about $150 more but I decided I was fine with our location.

On second thought I think I'm going to book now in case the DCL folks realize that the 5c is higher than the 5b and raise the 5b too. THen I can rebook on the ship. Thanks to both of you for the heads up so I didn't delay further.

Good luck and keep us posted! You are very lucky to be going on a cruise now then later. I'm looking forward to our Disney World trip in December but nothing really beats a cruise.

BOOKED! Now for sure some amazing deal will be released - right after I rebook onboard. :lmao:

 Yay! Jeff etc. is official!!! WhoHoo! PARTY!! PARTY!! PARTY!! :rockband: Are you also on Deck 6?? :goodvibes Hey, it sucks that you had to do it this way but you CAN always cancel & rebook in a few weeks to get that pricing. At least you know you have a cabin before they go up again and HOPEFULLY you'll get a better incentive onboard next month!!

OK so they don't always raise the prices on all categories across the board - it's all supply & demand. So I'm sure that most people (like us) book the 5C's first as they're slightly cheaper than the 5B's. Once those are picked over people will start booking the 5B's THEN those prices will go up. It's all supply & demand. Eventually then they'll all hit GTY status. If I were to guess I'd say the 5C's will hit GTY first but I could be wrong.

OK, where are Luke & Kelly & NJOhana?? :confused3

I hope everyone had a lovely weekend. We didn't do very much as Nathan was sick:sick:. He is alot better but still not 100%.

This week DS & DD are off school for half term and DH and I are both off work. Unfortunately we are not going away anywhere we are just going on days out. Although Keira keeps asking can we go to Florida on Friday:lmao: I wish but I like her style!
