Just gave an update to DH and he said, yup sounds fun. So we are in!

I saw that 6614 is a connecting cabin, but our friends are probably booking oceanview so not sure why we got that one. Cabin reports seem ok, location seems good, but I'm going to read some more...

DH travels a lot and is so fed up with USAir that he is starting to take Delta and deal with connections, but I would like him to rack up a few more miles with USAir soon. I may even get the credit card to get some more miles...

AWESOME!! Glad to hear it's official!! Tell your friends to come join us here too so we can all get to know each other!!!

(PS) I just peeked at the DCL website and there are still 2 "SPH" cabins available - 5520 would be the better one of the 2 that are left (least obstruction). Was thinking of your friends if they're looking to book an oceanview - this would probably be cheaper than booking a Cat 8 or a Cat 9! Worth pricing anyway maybe...

Well welcome to the DISboards and welcome aboard!! We're on a roll now with picking up peeps!! FINALLY!!! I am PSYCHED!!! I have to run out to an appointment in a minute but I'll be back to chat in a bit - as you can see from my post count I spend a LOT of time on the DIS!!! I'll check out the FB page later too!!

Hi Kelly! I saw that you joined our FB group. Cool! We also are tracking flights. We track our flights with Kayak and our direct from Newark, NJ also went up 9%! I don't know if we should wait any longer.

OH WHAT a shock that must've been for you to leave Hawaii for NEW JERSEY!! Which island did you live on?? We absolutely LOVE Hawaii - we try to go every 5 years! ACTUALLY, we would be "due" to go again NEXT summer but when DVC announced the new Aulani resort at Ko'Olina wouldn't be opening until FALL next year we decided to do this cruise instead - then we will go to Hawaii in 2012!!! We usually island hop but with the new DVC resort we'll probably spend more time on Oahu than normal. Probably 5 days on Oahu and 5 days on Maui. Then we want to stop in CA at DL on the way home for 2 or 3 nights... SO another BEEEEEG vacation in 2012!! I say that like I am made of money or something!! NOT!!!

The 'D' in front of H (DH) & W (DW) & S (DS) & D (DD) can be interpreted as either Dear or Disney. I think it is up to your own interpretation. So there could also be DSIL (Disney / Dear Sister-in-law) & DGM & Disney / Dear Grandmother / Grandfather) etc. It takes awhile to get the forum slang down. Just ask if you don't know!! You're a newbie!!

Well, DS and I had the night off from swimming. THANK Goodness - last night practice was from 7-9:15 - we were both pooped today just 'cuz it was a late night by the time we all got to bed. DH has a class tonight though so he is out tonight....so still not a "normal" evening. I am trying to and pack 'cuz I am going away for the weekend with some of the other Mom's in my neighborhood. My nextdoor neighbor has a townhouse in Bethany Beach, DE & every fall the Mom's go down for a weekend of and and more I skipped it the last 2 years though (last year DS had a swim meet that weekend). Anyway, I need to keep with my chores for now... I'll pop back in tomorrow before we head out!! Ya'll are gonna have to keep up the chatter while I am gone!!!

Great to know we are not the only newbies. So pardon me everyone while I keep asking the questions that have already been asked a thousand times on DISboards. We have a lot of catching up to do. We are just learning about FEs and the different ports and flights and hotels.......yikes! There's a lot to do!

I am originally from Kauai, moved to Oahu for college and that's where I met DH. We moved to NJ two years ago but went home to Kauai last Christmas and will go back again this Christmas.

FB is a fun way to connect. It's also easier to view on my mobile. I know the trip is months away but they say planning is half the fun!

LOVE Bethany Beach. We used to go down there nearly every summer; have friends with a beachfront condo there. But we have been doing too many long vacations in the summer to take another week to get there. Kids asked this year if we could go back soon. Now that we are heading to Greece and this cruise next summer, not sure when that is going to be. Maybe 2012....?

Speakng of vacations, nothing beats Hawaii. We usually go every 2 years and we would be "due" this next summer but.....(see above for what we are doing next summer). So maybe 2012. err. maybe 2013. Yikes. Too many vacations, not enough time. We honeymooned in Maui and fell in love with the island so that has been the main focus of our trips. Last year we went to Oahu for the first time ever (minus changing planes) and even stayed in Waikiki and just absolutely loved it. We also spent five days in Kauai (where we had been one other time). Now that I know you grew up on Kauai and are now in NJ, wow THAT'S a culture shock. Kauai is so beautiful it's really almost surreal when you are there. The first time I visited I thought it was jet lag, but this time, we were over that by the time we got there and it was STILL surreal. Just a gorgeous amazing magical place. And of course, Maui No Ka Oi.

Aloha peeps!! Afraid I am OUT OF TIME - at 11:00 my Mom Peeps bumped up our departure time to 1:00 & I'm almost but not quite ready!! SOOO I am shutting down for now. Culture shock for sure,but I love it! New food, new culture and now we are addicted to traveling. We love to road trip, something not possible living on an island. We are celebrating our tenth year anniversary next year and wanted to do Europe. We thought the cruise would be the best way with kids in tow.

But as I was born and raised on Kauai, I beg to differ- KAUAI No Ka Oi!
