CamColt...good luck in purchasing your tix! don't forget to wear red! i'm not into baseball...(my DH is...) anyways, when we took our DSs there, everyone was wearing red. for angels, i guess. (i was people watching, rather than watching baseball! hee hee) so we had to get the boys their red caps! maybe you are red sox fan? either way, they're red, right?

anyways, yes, it is getting exciting! see guys, it's almost spring time, and summer will be here soon!!!!!

i assume you are all going to dl before or after? maybe? maybe not? have you ever been there? this trip is going to be so fun!

i'm trying not to think about this, but can't help it! and i know the closer it gets to "the date", the more crazy/frenzied i become!!!!! :flower:

Im like you when it comes to baseball...not really into it. My kids are huge fans and wanted to go to a Red Sox game. We tried desperately to get tickets for a game out here and spent the day they went on sale on 3 phones and on line trying to get through with no luck. UGH! Ironically my kids are both Red Sox fans and Angels fans, LOL! We couldnt have gotten any luckier with the timing of the game. Our flight is at 9:00pm the day we disembark and the game is at 1:05. Now if we can just get tickets we will be all set. If so I plan to surprise the kids when we are getting ready to leave the ship...and we will all be wearing our Red Sox gear that day. ;)

We are flying in the Tuesday before the cruise and spending those 4 days at DL. Weve never been so it should be an adventure. Ive been learning a lot lately.

I love that all our countdown timers are for the same time. It sort of adds to the excitement to know there are others "with us".

Well school is closed here today (I'm really glad because DH is still in Orlando and I didn't feel like shoveling at 6:30 A.M.

We are staying at GC for 8/11 and 8/12. We used our DVC points so we don't need to pay for that. I want to get 2 day park hoppers off Hotwire. They used to be $90 but they just went up to $96. It seems like everything is going up for the 50th anniversary. I want to try to get Fantasmic buffet tickets and they just went up to $53.00.

We've been to DL twice so DS knows his way around there as well as WDW. I think he's most excited about seeing his cousins again (it's been about 2-3 years). I just want to get on the ship and relax!

Oh, I love hearing everyones plans. :goodvibes

Being on that ship right now would be nice. At this point Id be happy to see the sun and sand on the ground, not snow. We have another snow day here(our 5th this year) and the kids just went back to school yesterday after a week off for vacation. We are all so sick of being cooped up here! :cold:

starwood...what's the fantasmic buffet? dinner, i assume? and where? isn't fantasmic a lazer light show? please enlighten me!

oh, you guys are lucky...with snow! and school is closed! but i'm sure that's not how you are feeling...here, it's a bit cold & cloudy, but am just glad that it's not raining!!!!! i'm sure my cold is nothing compared to your cold there!

anyways, do you guys know what i did last night? i was so excited about our upcoming trip...i took out this cd that DH made from our first cruise...we took pix and he put them into like a dvd movie thing, added disney music to it...so i watched it! kinda "reminesce". and couldn't believe that we will be back on the magic again soon!!! :flower:

[QUOTE=rsjj]
i also want to do a horseback riding thing. does anyone know anything about randi's happy horses? that was the one i've been reading/seeing on the boards. sounds interesting. forgot which port she was in.

Hi RSJJ: Mazatlan ~~~~ heard good reviews about her. Are you planning an excursion with her? :earsgirl:

The fantasmic buffet is only dessert. But it is the only way to get a seat. Otherwise you need to get there about 2 hours before to camp out on the ground by the Rivers of America. They have about 20 seats on the balcony of the Disney Gallery and more (not sure how many) by the Haunted Mansion. I know that my mother (she will be 79 when we go) would never be able to sit on the ground and I'm not sure my back could take it any more either. I really don't care about the desserts I just want a seat.

As far as the snow goes - if I NEVER see snow again I would be very, very happy. My back is killing me from shoveling. Spring can't come fast enough for me. Right now it is 26 degrees and I have to take DS to school.

I don't think I would be able to stand watching the cruise right now with the weather - it snowed a little bit again last night because there is a light coating on the car. Maybe tonight I will push the heat up to 80 and make myself a Konk Kooler.

If you get the opportunity and there are spaces available for the Fantasmic Buffet (book as soon as you can) I would do it in a heartbeat. I've not had the opportunity to get reservations for this so I had to pull up a nice piece of concrete for several hours before the show!! It's a great show, I saw it for the first time last April and went back the next night to see it again. I think there are about 25 spaces in front of Haunted Mansion.

I just booked a bunch of stateroom gifts for my family to receive over the duration of the cruise, I'm so excited for them to arrive each night. I'm hoping that they come out with something special for the 50th anniversary!

alohatee...yes, we are thinking of doing it. but am a bit concerned, since our DSs are 3 & 5. (will be 3 1/2 and 6 by the time we go). anyways, more concerned about our 3 yo. are you thinking of doing it? or maybe you've done it? if so, please tell me your thoughts...

as the date is getting closer, everyone is getting ready in their own way. and as CamColt stated, it is exciting, and interesting to see what/how everyone's plans are! :flower:

rsjj: i rode a horse once but it was many years ago in Georgia (it was fun). my darling neice (9) :earsgirl: is excited about it - kinda a step up from pony rides.
another daring adventure would be the canopy tours where you zip thru the rainforest via cables....I like to do some shopping at each port. more definitive plans closer to May. :hourglass

just looking forward to the cruise :cool1:

I took horseback riding lessons when I was little. About 15 years ago we went to Molokai and rode mules to the leper colony. It was great (a little scarry because you go down a shear cliff). The horses they give you are very gentle and know the trail well because they travel it every day. I don't think anyone would have a problem with a horseback riding excursion.

what do you all think about that with a 3 & 6 yo? any thoughts, experiences? we (DH & i) want to do it, sounds fun...but not really sure about our DSs. they say they want to...then, again, they said they want to swim with the stingrays too...and that didn't go well. anyways, i think i'm more concerned about our DS 3, than our older DS, who will be just 3 months into 6. i don't know! still thinking/debating. like i said, another option is to leave them at the club, and go on shore. will see!

any thoughts, advice, experience, please let me know!!!! thanx! :flower:

We'll be on the August 13 cruise as well - myself, ds7 and dd 3. Hubby and (by then) nearly year old twins are staying home. We're hoping to make friends on the boards so we won't be lonely!

My dd3 is fearless, and I know she'll want to be able to do anything her brother can, so I'm going to have to choose excursions that take 3 year olds ... which unfortunately lets out the dolphin enounter, I think. Anyone know the min age for horseback riding? She is horse obsessed, has been on a number already ...

k

I believe some horseback riding excursions have min. age (10 yrs) and weight (240 or less). My niece will 10yr in Oct2005 - hopefully that would be OK for her to ride. I will keep an eye out for you. :flower:

i think disney's horseback riding one is 10 & up. i was talking to randi's happy horses, and asked about whether they took kids...and have read on other boards that they are good with children. and we're thinking of booking with them. you might want to go check them out.

as for your fearless dd3...our DS3 is also the same way! we call him the "dare devil"!!!!!!! he is so not afraid of anything...and that scares me!

anyways...yes, 5 more months!!!!! just can't wait! does everyone have all the "major" things set? like plane tix (i know someone bought them...sorry, forgot who!), transfers, etc.

oh, CamColt...did you get your angels tix? hope that was a success!

i don't know about you all, but i can't wait for the first couple west coast cruises to come around, so we can start reading about what they have to say/post. and that wait is only like 2 months! and after that, it's 3 months for us!!!!! yay!!!! :flower:

I agree! I am dying to hear what others have to report. I have a feeling come the beginning of June this board will be hopping! Thank God! The planner in me is going nuts. :bitelip:

And yes, we did get the tickets!!!! Thanks for asking. We actually were only on hold for about 5 minutes, but even then all that was available was obstructed view(I guess there was an internet presale for certain people???). Im estatic...and Im not even much of a baseball fan. I just know my kids will go nuts over this. I hope not to tell them until we are leaving the ship on the 20th. Lets see if I can hold out that long.

We have our plane tickets, our DL package booked, and now our baseball tickets. We need to book transfers and figure out how to get to the game...with all our luggage. We are thinking of taking a shuttle back to the Anaheim area and renting a cheap hotel room for the day, but we have to research that more. I planned to do that last weekend, but I got sick.

I didnt even realize we were under 5 months til I just found this thread. Woohoo!!!!

anaheim stadium is very close to dl...and there are lots of hotels near that general vicinity! a lot of them get booked up quick, since it's summer time, and especially it's dl's 50th b-day bash...seems like everyone is heading this way! so hurry, if you're thinking of doing that...

wow, having to keep such an "exciting" secret is tough! and all by yourself too! is this also a surprise for your DH?

hope you're feeling better!

now everyone, remember, can't get sick in august! hee hee...

does anyone know what the weather is like down in mexico during that time? have any of you ever been there? and who's already figured out the date for our 60 days out...when our final payment is due, and we can make our excursions? if you do, please post...too lazy to count! (i need to mark it on my calendar!) thanx! :flower:

We have airline tickets and GC booked. I need to book Disney transfer from DL to ship. Then I need to find a car/limo to take us to DL from John Wayne Airport. I also need to find a way to get a rental car when we get back and a hotel near JW Airport for 1 night. I need to book Fantasmic Dessert Package in July and get DL tickets. Then there are the excursions (no clue yet what we're doing there). Too many people to coordinate with. I think I'll wait until we get back from WDW beginning of May to kick it into gear. I can't wait to have everything set so I can relax and enjoy it.

Our final payment is due 90 days out because we booked through Costco. That's their rule. Our final payment is due 5/31.
