August 13, 2005

I just found your boards and wanted to "be a part" of the action! My family will be joining all of you. I'm Sherri, my husband is Steve and our 9 year old daughter's name is Madison. This will be our 9th cruise, but our first ever Disney Cruise so I feel like I have so much to learn about cruising "Disney style."

Welcome Sherri! I'm so glad you found us. You will find tons of info here and you will be a pro Disney cruiser in no time. ;)

Do you have any excursions, spa treatments, or Palo booked yet? :Pinkbounc

WooHoo!!! Glad you found us Sherry. Welcome.
Madison will have two new friends her age on the cruise. My dd Sydney (8)
and Alohatee neice Cecilia (9). :) Rsjj, Alohatee and myself are going horseback riding with Randi's happy horses so if your family is interested book with her right away. I hear it's a lot of fun.

Sorry if I missed anyone else on our board who will also be touring with Randi :)

Wow - we have more people than I thought. Alohatee you can add that Sonja will be 14 and Molly will is 12. Sonja's birthday is 8/10 and MIL is 8/16 so we are going to try to have a combined celebration.

I didnt realize we had so many either.

Thanks for putting the list together Arlene. I think it's time for me to start studying the real names. ;)

Hi Starwood:

Edited my post.

Thanks.

Wow!!! Alohatee thanks. Where did you find some of the cruisers. I haven't read any post from some of the names you mentioned :) Good to hear more people are starting to sign on.

The cabin tour sounds great. I hope some people in our group has a category 1.2 or 3 :) I would love to see those cabins also. Defininetly want to see all the categories so I would know what to book next time :)

I think we should also celebrate all the celebrations were having on the cruise. We would need someone who has cruised before to let us know some good ideas.

We all know where to meet right? In case anyone forgot we are going to meet:

When: Saturday August 13, 2005
Where: The Promenade Lounge
Time: 3:00 pm

Have a great day.

thanx alohatee, for posting the list. i didn't even realize there were all these people! you must've read every single post! and i thought i've been keeping up since the "beginning"...and you even got my name spelled correctly!!!! yay!!

ok, everyone, forgive me, if i call you by your "code name"! will really try hard at remember your "real name"...but it's so hard! i know when i finally meet you all, i will say..."oh, so you're starwood...or alohatee...or whoever" got to study that list!!

the "fun stuffs" sounds great...i've read about the door prizes/surprises that people leave at the fish hook thing...not sure what it is, but they've said it's like x-mas! does anyone know? or interested?

as for prizes...how about we get something from where we're from? like we'll pick a theme, and go from there? the only thing i could think of would be baseball...(only because i know one of you are going to the angels game...i think Katie?) like i could get dodger's caps? although that would be a "big" expense...i don't know? or anyone into scrapbooking? t-shirts, maybe? ok, i'm getting carried away here. oh, how about postcards? (only cuz i collect them!)

as for cat tours...what exactly is that? unfortunately, we're not booked in cat 1, 2, or 3...ours is just a "regular" cabin...i'm sure nothing fancy!

Katie...is your son in kinder? maybe Colton & Justin can "hang out".

this is getting so exciting! i just can't wait!!!!! :flower:

Oh LOL! I just noticed the 10th anniversary next to my name. This trip started out (years ago) as being a 10th anniversary thing, but has ended up being a few weeks later. We are going to WDW for our actual anniversary. Actually I joked with DH that we should celebrate on 8/19 while on the boat because we almost got maried on that day (the hall we wanted was booked so we moved it up a month). We wont though. ;)

Rsjj, Colton just graduated from preschool last week. 2 weeks from now he will go to a "Get Ready" for Kindergarten program for 3 days, but he doesnt officially start until the fall. :cool1: He wont be 6 until January.
That would be good if he had a friend. :)

oh, Justin thinks he's such a "big boy"!! he's graduating from kinder this week, and he knows he's going to be starting 1st grade in the fall. yes, it would be nice to have a friend to hang out with...at least, Justin will know in advance that there's a "buddy" there...although he is somewhat shy. congratulations to Colton on finishing preschool! wow, that must be exciting!! i'm sure he thinks he's a "big boy" too, huh? they all want to grow up so fast!

we celebrated our anniversary on the ship the last time we went. it was techinically, couple days before we sailed. but our ta put it down on our reservation for us. it was nice. we got a little raspberry moouse cake thing. it was good. took it back to our stateroom...yum! :flower:

My parents anniversary was 8/19. We got married the week after that on 8/26. No Cat 1,2 or 3 for us just a plain old cat. 9. We couldn't even afford a cat. 6. I'm really going to miss my veranda.

The fish hook is like a mailbox outside your door. Notices are clipped there along with your invitation to the Castaway Club get together. It's a good place to leave notes for people.

Hi all -

I haven't posted in forever, but we're very excited! We're going on Randi's happy horses as well - both my kids are thrilled.

I can't remember who posted about this, but I contacted the Dolphin people directly, and they told me that for the day that we're in port, every slot they had was allotted to our cruise ship. That is, in order to book them independently, I would need to be there on a day that there was *no* cruise ship in port who offered their excursion. So much for going independent.

I see a number of kindergarten-aged boys - my guy will be happy - any 3-4 y/o girls around?

I will plan on joining you all the first day to meet,
K

Congratulations to Justin! :)

We actually have a category 6 this time. We have never had a verandah before, only an 11 and a SPH room while on Disney cruises. This is a splurge for us.

I had forgotten about the Castaway Cay reception. Does anyone know when that is on this cruise? Who will be going to that?

GELH's mom, Im glad to see there is another little guy around. My oldest, Cam, is 8.

thank you! he won't have the "ceremony" till friday. i'm really excited for him!

according to the navigators, the cc thing is on monday at 5:15. we will be attending! has anyone here been before? what can we expect?

do you think they'll change the navigators? you know, fine tune it, maybe? or do you think it's pretty much set? cuz from what i've read, we're having the "regular dining" every other day, with special menus in between.

ok, questions for the expert...is character breakfast the day after our animator's pallette regular dining rotation on a sea day? or just ap (regardless of which menu you get?)

yes, i know, every moment, there's a question to dwell on/think over... :flower:

Anyone from the mid-states joining us on this cruise??????

For cabin tours (our cabin is std Cat 11) - just a thought is to have the kids (big and small) decorate their cabin and everyone that visits gets to vote (details to follow) for the best decorated cabin. The cabin with the most votes (most resourceful, most unusual, most funny, etc) gets a trophy or something (we can make up categories so that everyone gets a prize)......remember this is a cruise - nothing stressful - - - - - just plain FUN - please.

Hello to all! Thanks for the info AlohaTee.
FYI the BCNB is Becky(myself),Chris DH, Nikki DD, Brandon DS. Our anniversary is on Aug. 13 the first day of the cruise. :flower: Congrates to CamColt on you tenth. :wizard:
This is our first cruise and we have a catagory 4 room which by the way was a GTY but we have now been given our room number,YEA was hoping for an upgade but oh well maybe next time. :confused3 heheeheh
We are going to do the dolphin Observer and DD is going to swim with the dolphins in PV. In Mazatlan we are doing to do the city tour and Folkloric show which we might cancel and do something on our own because they have changed the leave time from 8 to 5 and the excursion is over at 4:30. And in Cabo we are going on the coastal highlights tour.
We are getting very excited. My kids are finishing up their school year 22nd is their last day. My Daughter and a few of my foster children are having their dance recital this week :dancer: . Then in 2 weeks DD finishes up her Barbizon classes. So it will be nice to have a couple of weeks before we have to start running again. I have 2 going to camp 1 going on a coastal trip from Wa. to Cal. and one going to DisneyLand with my best friend and then we (me,DH,DD,DS) are going on the Cruise.
Well I am closing for now but thanks again for all the info I am getting so excited :jumping1: :thewave:

Becky, congrats to you too! Is that the Dophin encounter for kids (ages 4-8) you are doing? We are doing that, well the kids are and we are observing. It will be the first one in the morning.

Thanks for the info rsjj. I missed that on the Navigators. ;)
We went on our last cruise and theres a little bit of picky foods, some free drinks(yummy fruity ones) and the Captain mingles. We actually cruised with Barb & Tony (inkognito, and I forget Tony's screen name) so they introduced us to the Captain and we chatted with them a bit. It definitely wasnt long, we probably were there about 45 minutes.

Welcome to the club of excitment

It is great to find out how code names are made....... :goodvibes

Susie(I looked up the name,LOL!)

I saw you posted on that bracelet thread and instead of taking that off topic I figured Id answer you here, since we pretty much have any topic going. ;)

Colton had surgery for a hernia. It was just day surgery, we were home by noon, and he was jumping around the house that night...with Mom in a panic of course. ;) He did fine. But yes, when we first found out he needed it and they said they would call us to schedule it, I wasnt sure how long it would take for us to get an appointment and what the recovery was. I made sure to keep everything in mind...will he be able to swim in August...stuff like. But like I said, it was nothing(after the fact) and he is so proud of his scar, he shows everyone. In fact we go today for the follow up appointment. :)
