I just got off the phone with Disney Travel Company and they said the packages for 2008 would be released on Aug 5th. I was so excited:cool1: I was going to book my room only but decided to wait and book a package in a few weeks. I hope the guy I spoke with wasn't just giving me bad information. I would be greatly disapointed:sick:

Okay, sounds good! So they should also have details about the '08 dining plan at this time too, right?

I posted a thread about this. I had an online chat with a Disney reservationist yesterday. I was told the 2008 package rates would be out in a couple of weeks. August 5th sound about right! Let's keep our fingers crossed.

August 5th???

Great!:thumbsup2

Now, everyone...

Do not call reservations between the time of 10-10:15 AM EST. I will be making my reservations and do not want busy phone lines! (just kidding!):cool2:

Did he say just the packages will be released, or will it be room only be released as well. I am booked for January as room only. Thanks:)

Thanks, I have heard so many different things I am going crazy. I had to do a split stay so I wouldn't be charged holiday rate for my whole stay. I thought I was booking value season. Now, I have read in some places (not here) that Jan.-1st thru the 5th will no longer be value. In addition, I have heard some people say room only rates won't be released until October. That makes me kind of mad, I already have reservations and have no chance at that time to switch if I have to. I guess I rambled, sorry. It is just so hard to plan or decide if I will be able to afford to go. My reservation is at the 1st of the year. I guess I could look at the package prices and see what the increase is and decide at that point. Thanks anyway:)

There is another option for you if you're wondering how much the vacation will be.

When I booked my room only at Wilderness Lodge, I asked the CM if she could tell me what the package price would have been at 2007 rates. She was happy to do so. She said, normally, the annual increase is 6%. I added on 10% just in case.

If you had that information, you might feel a little better.

I like everyone else wanted to find out any information on the rate increase, so I googled 2008 prices for DisneyWorld. I came across this blog, (I don't know the name exactly it was Orlando something) they were talking about the same things. One person mentioned he had talked to a CM live from the Disney site. She had told him that since the New Year fell on a Tuesday, the days after were going to be peak. Whatever that means, or if it is even true. It seems that there are many different answers, I don't know if the CM's know for sure. I wish they would stop dropping hints, it makes us (me) really speculate and worry. It would make sense to me that they would want to make the days after New Year's a higher rate since the will have the holiday spillover crowd. I do not have any direct information, I just read a blog. What stuck out in my mind is I have seen the CM's name before. I really hope it is not true, or that it isn't to high. I planned this trip because I could get in the value season. I am pretty sure I will have to cancel if the rate goes up too high. I do expect a rate increase so I guess it just depends on how much. I hope I didn't alarm anyone, I wasn't trying to. I think this is all a big puzzle right now and we are trying to put the pieces together. I just hope that I can get some answers on the rate so I can decide. We will know soon enough.:)

I found the site that I read the information on, but I don't know if I can mention it, so I won't. If someone tells me I can I will. The CM said it may be considered peak through that Saturday, that is what she expects.

Does it make sense that they would release packages on a Sunday?

Does it make sense that they would release packages on a Sunday?

Disney is open 365 days a year so they don't operate like a lot of businesses (Monday through Friday). Sunday is the beginning of another week for Disney so it makes sense to me.
