Aug. 5th, 2006 - Eastern Magic!!!

Howdy everyone,
Just wanted to keep us bumped up to page one!! :goodvibes

Things are pretty quite here today. Suppose to ge thunderstorms 70% chance, but they never seem to show up here. We really need them, so hope today will be the day for rain. :thumbsup2

Well it is less than a month now :woohoo:

Is everyone all ready? :confused3

Just a reminder to everyone that our meet :grouphug: is the first day in the Promenade lounge at 3:00 P.M. I hope everyone can come if only for 5 minutes, at least we will know who we are and will get to see each other throughout the week.
I love seeing everyone during the week and hearing about all the awesome experiences they are having.

See ya soon,
Kathy

Our counters are on days now instead of months. :woohoo: Soon we can start looking out for our docs.

Anyone make any spa reservations? I have the alone time spa villa reserved but I am wondering if I should cancel it. I wonder how hot it's going to be in a hot tub in August. $200 is a lot of money.

Marci, I've never done any of the spa stuff onboard. I guess I just don't want to spend that money. One of my clients just got me a manicure and pedicure as a thank you, so I am going to get that done before we go. (note to self...don't forget to make an appt. for that) I can't believe it's less than a month now!! Yeehaw!! We are having picture perfect weather here. 75 and no humidity. I sat out in the sun a little yest. so I won't fry while on the ship. I have to get out there for a little bit today too. It's actually almost chilly, but I won't complain. I have the air cond. off, so saving a little bit of cash on that!

I still need to book our flight. Air tran keeps offering good deals, but the return trip is like $397 ONE WAY per person!!! Unless we leave at 9:51 am. Blah! (we actually did get bumped up once to a 10:30 flight, but I'd hate to take a chance.

Well, my old (only a year old) printer blew up (not really...it just quit working) yest., so they sent me an "upgrade" for ONLY $169. I got it today already, so I've gotta install it. I think my daughter had something to do w/ its demise. She loves to press the buttons on it, but the help desk guy had me do a million different things to no avail! I do use it alot w/ my work, so I did give it a good workout. I was so distressed yest. I kept telling my DH I can't get anything done around here...hmmm...do ya think checking the boards many times a day has anything to do w/ that??? :rotfl: :confused3

Howdy,
if I do this right you should see a picture of Minnie, if not i will try again.

Well, now is the time to really start getting excited. We are a mere month out. So now the home stretch to get everything done and ready. Since I work Mon-Friday 6am till about 4pm. I really don't get a chance to get sun. So I start Fake Baking next week. !0 sessions for twenty dollars. Just have a couple items to pick up for the cruise so anything we find now is a bonus. Went shopping to Macy's and found a size one, little black dress, (for my daughter, not me) It will be perfect for formal night. Just got to find her shoes. We will arrive at Orlando Airport at noon on Saturday. By the time we get on their bus and check in we will meet everyone at 3pm. I love the picture of Minnie, she is a beautiful dog. Gotta go. Catch you all later.
Sue

Kathy, Minnie is sooo cute. :goodvibes

Sue, I've been tanning too. Actually my DH bought me a year of tans for valentines day so I've been tanning for a while. I go about twice a week and have managed to get my DH into to for the cruise. He's been tanning for a few weeks.

Minnie is a cutie! Ava was walking by when the pic popped up and she got all excited and said something in her little gibberish and pointed!!

As far as tanning beds go, I usually buy a package before our spring cruises, but now just getting some au naturel! I tan pretty well, but that's only w/ a pretty good base. Plus that Caribbean sun is wicked!! I was just telling my mom, I remember when I was 17 and we went to the Bahamas. The 1st couple of days I wore SPF 4 (!!!!) and didn't get anything. So I went down to a 2 or just oil and SIZZLE!!!! Dumb move! I don't think they had SPF 15 and 30, etc. back then. But 4 did the trick.

Well, off for a walk.....after spending half the day setting up my new printer!! Pretty cool, but it sucks when it tells you that you don't have enough disk space when you have entire drive that is empty. Somehow I was able to figure it out. Whew!

Well it's Friday :woohoo:

Another week closer to our cruise

It's hard to believe it's less than a month til we are going to meet and have an awesome cruise!! :Pinkbounc

Have a great weekend everyone, :thumbsup2

Kathy

Hello everyone!! Another one going on the cruise 8/5!! Cannot WAIT!!!!!!! I'm going with dh, ds#1 (5yo) ds#2 (3yo) and some other family members. We haven't booked any of our excursions yet, so I guess I need to get on the ball.

Welcome Jiminy!!! If you have any questions about excursions maybe some of us can help. I am going to add you to the list.

Lyons Family,

You weren't at the Akron Zoo today were ya?? I was walking past a guy who said he was from Niles. The lady he was talking to said she knew where that was, then he said, "well, really from Vienna." Ava had a ball there. Can't wait to see her reaction to the cruise and WDW.

Hi Tarabra family. :Pinkbounc In reply, no we were not able to be at the Akron Zoo today. Both my husband and I had to work. And besides we have an injured child at home. :confused3 One week ago today, the last day of summer camp our Daughter Christina had the misfortune of being bit on the back of her calf by what they think could have been a recluse spider.(OOPS WE FORGOT TO TELL MOM AND DAD SO WE COULD GO SWIMMING). That night I took her swimming, and I think the chlorinated water helped disinfect her bite, by Sunday she had one large inflammed area on the back of her calf, the size of an golf ball. So now, antibiotics, and topical creams, no swimming means sad child. :guilty: Leg is doing much better. Taking Martha the beagle for a walk, doesn't compare to swimming, but keeping her active.
Later sue

Well I dusted off the fairly old Navigators (from this April) to see what I might want to do while on the cruise. Have any of you done the REAS package? I am not for sure if we want to invest in the extra $339 package.

Now all we have to do is wait for the documents to arrive. :thumbsup2

:welcome: Jiminy,

Glad you decided to join us. :grouphug:

Remember we are having a meet on the first day at 3 P.M. in the Promenade lounge. Just a few minutes to put faces with names. Then we will recognise each other around the ship for the week.
By the way, I know your name cant be Jiminy, mine is Kathy. What is your name so we will know what to call you??
We are a great group here, so feel free to ask questions if you have any.

Has anyone seen the new Pirates movie yet???
I wont get to see it til next weekend or the next after that so dont give away any details to me, just wondered if you liked it?? :confused3

Kathy

Joining in on the 4 week dance.

Kathy, my DH & I saw the Pirates movie today. It made me excited for the cruise. I can't wait to see the Flying Dutchman on CC. It was a great movie but it ends pretty abruptly. Definitely a 3rd movie coming.

We also went shopping and my DH got his formal shoes. I got samples of shower gel, shaving cream etc. I also visited my makeup counter at Dillards and spent a good bit. I really needed new makeup though.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Marcie,
I am glad you liked the movie. DS liked it too , but didnt care for the ending. He didnt give any details which I appreciate, I like to be surprised.
We have two other movies to see first before getting to go see the Pirates movie. DH wants to see the House on the Lake and the new Superman Movie. We will probably see one of them tomarrow. They wont be crowded, everyone will be going to see the pirate movie.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend,

Kathy
