Has most everyone booked shore excursions?
The only one we have booked is Ketchikan float plane with Island Wings. I keep going back and forth about others.
Am I the only one who can't make a decision?:confused3
No! We're booked for glacier trek by helicopter with Temsco for Juneau. Then the float plane in Ketchikan with Misty Fjords Air. Both gave great discounts if we paid in full early (late Feb or March) so these were easy decisions.
We know we want to do the White Pass train in Skagway but we're undecided if we should do the RT train ride which is 3 hrs total or if we should do the one offered by
DCL where you take the train 1 way, then bus to see a little show & pan for gold, then bus the rest of the way back down. Part of me thinks that 3 hrs sitting on a train is too long & monotonous, even if we enjoy the view. OTOH, I think if the gold panning & show are dookey we'll wish we were riding the train.
We'd save $$ to book the RT train direct since ds12 would be half price which DCL doesn't recognize him as a child anymore. OTOH, if we book through the ship, we could use our OBC toward the price so no $ out of pocket. We'll be getting $1100 in OBC so we could either apply to excursions or just buy a Disney gift card to exhaust the credits & apply it to a future cruise.
Also for Victoria, we don't know whether we should:
-take a horse drawn carriage ride
-take a horse drawn trolley ride
-stay on the ship & relax
We don't know if we'll all be tired by the end of the cruise. We would miss dinner to do one of the horse rides. (I forget which was which time.) One of them can be done later & we could squeeze in a short dinner, but by the time it ends, it will be dark out (something the June cruisers don't have to contend with). The other is right at 6pm so we would have to eat quick service on deck 9 to make this happen. Dh is willing but my dad enjoys the relaxing sit-down meals in the dining room.
Ahhh... decisions, decisions.
I don't want any regrets or thinking later when we're home again: coulda, shoulda, woulda,
