Aug 23, 2007 - 3 Night Wonder

7 DAYS TO GO!!!!!!!!! YEAH BABY

Hurricane Dean is heading to Mexico!

Whew.....well that was a bunch of worries we didn't need.

Now back to our regularly scheduled broadcast.

I've printed out my packing list and checking what I need to buy that I don't have right now.

We're leaving on Sunday but we have a noon flight so no getting up at some unGodly hour like we had to last year when we flew in the same day as the cruise.

Yesterday I tried on my snorkle fins on my bad foot and (thank goodness) no problems wearing it because it has an open toe.

We're staying on the ship in Nassau as I intend to spend some quality time by the adult pool. We have the snorkeling excursion booked at Castaway Cay so that will take up the morning at CC.

Don't worry if you get off the boat at CC and it looks like there are no available beach chairs. Just keep walking along the beach and there will be empty chairs as you head towards the teen beach. We found its really nice directly in front of the bathrooms as the beach gets a little wider there and you can stay under the trees.

If the water playground is closed, don't despair. It just means its low tide and the playground will re-open as soon as the tide comes in and the water gets deeper.

Absolutely order a drink from the waiters walking around the beach. We all need that pampering and the waiters/waitresses are delightful to talk to.

So relieved Dean is heading away. Though I'm sad to think Cozumel, Mexico may get another hit. We were there last year and you could still see the hurricane damage from a year ago.

Woohoo :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

We are planning to get off the ship briefly but only because it is our first time. We will probably see you by the adult pool at some point later on though :thumbsup2

I am getting so excited - our packing is almost complete, we are leaving in the morning to take our DS to his grandparents, then travel to the airport on Sunday night, ready to fly on Monday am.

I'll be the one by the pool with a bandaged left foot. (oohh, that reminds me to buy more waterproof tape for my foot)

At the Sailaway party.....I'll be wearing a red t-shirt that says "Pez Quadro" on it. It a t-shirt I bought in Costa Maya last year.

This is my last post from home. About 2/3 way through packing. We're getting picked up at 9:30am tomorrow so not so bad.

Had a stressful day today.......1) I had huge problems with my internet account and sending emails....2) thought I had lost my passport. Not that its needed but it was in a case that has other important stuff. Had the classic senior moment when I put it down and forgot about it rather than putting it away in its usual spot.

And get this......DH upgraded his seat on our flight down to first class, but me and the kids are still in coach. Ahhh, gotta love marital loyalty.

See you guys on the 26th!!!!

Whoever posts last last needs to "turn out the lights".

OMG, he is doing what?? Man that would bug me!! I sit with the kids behind dh (he is inthe exit row). This way he gets more leg room.

Hmmm...should that cup of ice I am bringing for your foot be accidently dropped on his head?? :rotfl2:

Just let me know, I can trip real easy!!

The male mind just works differently than the female mind.

Actually, ulterior motive......I intend to send the kids to "visit" dad in the first class section for a good part of the trip. So I told DH to go ahead and switch the seat.

Signing off for good now.

I will probably be the one to turn out the lights.

Not leaving until Thursday morning to drive to Pt. Canaveral.

Have to take my pet to boarding. So I canceled my plans to leave on Wednesday, as I didn't want her to stay away from home longer than necessary.

Everyone have a safe journey to the ship.

A safe journey to you too. We're flying out tomorrow morning.

I just got an e-mail from my TA saying that the parasailing I'd booked for CC has been cancelled by the vendor. I'm a little bummed, but I guess that just means more beach time.

Oh my - that must mean that the seas/wind are not too good - yikes

We fly out tomorrow too. I just have to finish packing!! Almost done with the clothes, will do the odds and ends tomorrow!! See everyone Thursday!!

YIPEEEEEEEEEEEEE! It's here :cheer2:

It looks like I might be one of the last around. My pick-up for the airport is in 2 and a half hours! :yay:

See you all tomorrow as we set sail for a MAGICal vacation that is sure to be WONDERful :rotfl:

have a great trip down. I'm not leaving until tomorrow morning. No use for me to leave a day early. I'll be the one to switch the lights off

just got up and ready to take a shower and finalize things. Will be leaving at 7:30 am

SEE 'YA THERE - LIGHTS OUT ---------------------------

Just got back a couple of hours ago.......dumped the suitcases directly into the washing machine and browsed through the mail and email to see if anything needs immediate attention (fortunately, nothing).

What a great cruise!!!!!!! It was so great to meet you and talking with you all throughout the cruise, it was so much fun to see familiar faces....sorry we missed you Laura.......

Yes, three nights is not enough but we had such a great time and I am on such a high right now.

We had outstanding servers....Christiaan is a fantastic cruise director.....Pikey and the rest of the entertainment staff did a great job.....our safety drill CM was the male muse in Hercules.....the shows were great......bingo was a blast......the Castaway Club party was fun (thanks Kay for helping with the answers) ......LOVED the adult pool and those comfy chairs......Castaway Cay was just lovely and we were eating lunch when the rain came......my DD and Joisymom's DD hit it off and played together.....DS had a great time in the clubs......

Wow....my last Wonder cruise was practically perfect in every way and this one was too.

Oh.......turns out DH did not get a seat in first class on the way down......he didn't submit his request in time and was just on standby.......AND we did manage to catch our 11:09am flight home. Made it there in plenty of time. I wouldn't do that again but its good to know you can make a flight that early.

Hope you all had a good cruise, too, and you made it home safe and sound.

I think some of my best photos are on my film camera as my digital camera takes lousy indoor photos so I switched to my film camera and now I have to go get it all developed.

Glad you posted.

I got home at 10 am this morning also. Been straightening things out and getting the pet from the vets - just kept busy all day.

It was great having the ship cleared at 7 am and being able to get off at that time. Never have I gotten off before 8 am.

That was a great move letting us off that early.

And, yes, the CC meeting was awesome. It is always fun talking to everyone trying to find the answers to those questions. They have new crew members all the time that come to those meetings for us. But the videos are always the same.

I so much enjoyed meeting with everyone the first day and then seeing each other during the cruise. It would be nice if sometime in the future we got to cruise again together and spend a little more time. But that is so hard, isn't it - there is just so much to do.

HOpe everyone else gets home safe - let us know

Did it seem like the cruise had a substantial amount of first-timers? This is the first cruise where it felt like we had the CMs all to ourselves and DH and I spent a LOT of time talking with different CMs. It felt like we were all part of a big family.

Yes, it was very quick off the ship. We could not do that new procedure where you get your airline boarding pass on the ship so you can go right to the airport and not collect your luggage at the port. Our flight left too early today but we will remember that for the future.

We are booked for the double dip Wonder cruise for this time next year. I have a feeling Christiaan will be cruise director on the Wonder next summer as I think Rachel and Brent will do the repo/California Magic cruises. We love Christiaan - he is just so personable. Even he is aware of his resemblence to Que. How about all the American CMs? I have never seen so many American CMs.

Thank you all for your responses and supportive comments. Our trip was absolutely WONDERful! The weather really was great...a little rain the day on Castaway Cay but no big deal. Can't wait to go again next year!:hippie: Cindy

When are you going next year? I'm on the 8/17/08 double dip.

Funny story about the rain at CC. We were supposed to do the snorkeling excursion at 9:15am then eat lunch and then hang out for the afternoon. But we got a phone call at 8:30am saying the boat was broken and we got switched to 1:15pm. So we reversed our plans but it meant eating an earlier lunch (11:45am) than we would have. So the kids & I were eating our lunch under the covered area when the heavens opened.

So we didn't get wet at all. :rotfl2:

If our excursion went at the original time then we would have been in the water and gotten rained on.

But DH was out on the hobie cat when it rained. :lmao:
