We thought Christiaan was great. I have never had an American cruise director. It was always British or Australian voices doing the announcements. But I think Christiaan has a sexy voice. ;)

Anyone else see his one-handed cartwheel onstage before Disney Dreams?

Hello everyone-

We are back home safe and sound. We had such a wonderful, fantastic and amazing time:yay: We arrived home on Thursday night because we went to WDW for 4 nights after the cruise. WDW was fantastic and we loved the Poly. It's a great hotel. Luckily we didn't get rained on very much, however, boy was it hot!! The crowds weren't too bad...the most we waited was 30 minutes. We also went to the PPP and that was amazing...totally worth the extra $$. We walked right on to the rides.

The cruise far exceeded my expectations. I knew that it would be awesome because its Disney, but it was beyond what I thought it was going to be. The service, ship, accomodations, food and beauty of it all was out of this world. Plus add the fact that I didn't get sea sick  and there is a perfect marriage of everything.

It was so nice to meet all of you. I want to say thanks for giving me some great advice along the way. It was really all very helpful. I am looking forward to seeing you all again soon. All my best...

What a great cruise. I'm sorry we missed the meet, but I am new to both cruising and the DISboards. We did rebook for next year though. We are on the 7 night western cruise on December 13th. The August heat was just too much for us. After 6 days in the parks we were completely spent by the time we boarded. Again I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to meet you all. I'm sure it would have enhanced our experience. Good luck in the future

It was such a wonderful cruise!! I just wish we'd gone for longer than 3 days. I'm sorry too that we missed the meet. We took the DCL transfer and by the time we got on board it was already almost 2:30 and then by the time we'd eaten lunch it was already past the meet. And the parasailing that had been cancelled I found out was back on when I got on board but by that time I'd already decided to book the stingray excursion which was a blast.

We spent a week at WDW after the cruise which was alot of fun, although more crowded than the same time last year. I'm thinking of maybe pulling my DS out of school in May and going then, maybe doing a Land/Sea. :)

We, too, found the heat at WDW before the cruise left us exhausted on the cruise. I did not make any of the night time activities other than pirate night.

Man that was hot at WDW - it wasn't just the humidity but the fact that we had brilliant sunshine the entire time. No clouds to block the sun.

I don't mind the heat on a cruise because either we're at a beach or if its a sea day then you can go back to your room, but at WDW there's no avoiding being outside.

You know the kids are tired when you go to pick them up from the clubs and they don't object at all.

DH & I decided we won't go to WDW in the summer before a cruise anymore. We'll reverse it and do the cruise first.

It really was such a fantastic cruise. This is the cruise I will be comparing all others to.

Great, great photo. That was a pretty good Jack Sparrow. The one we had on the Magic last year seemed more intent on posing himself then the interaction with us.

So glad you had a good time. Yes, we didn't get to the port until after 1pm. That is one negative of taking the DCL bus from WDW. Its kind of a let down to get to the port and its empty because everyone is already onboard.

We had boat problems with our snorkeling excursion at Castaway Cay. It was supposed to be in the morning, then we got a message saying there was mechanical problems with the boat and it got switched to the afternoon. Sounds like the parasailing boat was having the same problems.

How did DS like the clubs? Both my kids loved it. They had fun with the other kids and the counselors. I was worried they would miss the separate Oceans Quest club they have on the Magic but my kids didn't miss it at all.

Actually, I'm jealous of the kids club - they have playstation, guitar hero, gamecube, Wii and there's a DDR machine outside of the teen club. I had to buy one of the gamecube games the kids played on the cruise.

And I was thinking the opposite, that I'd wished we'd done the cruise after the WDW instead of before. I love going to the parks, but you're so tired afterwards, it would have been nice to have the cruise to relax on afterwards.

I was just e-mailing my TA about checking out a land/sea for the end of April. I'm still a little unsure of my son's school schedule but I'm thinking he'll have off 5/1 and 5/2. He's in catholic school and 5/1 is Ascension Thursday and he had a half day on the Wednesday before and the Thursday and Friday off this year. If we did the land/sea starting on 4/27/08, he'd only miss 2 1/2 days of school.

My DS loved it!! His favorite was when they did the So You Want to Be a Pirate?. He's still talking about that. It seems like they really go out of their way for the kids to have a good time. :)

A couple of more pics, checking out the stingrays and of course with the first couple of the Wonder -

The only issue we had with WDW before the cruise was that scorching heat. I don't remember that being a problem the last time we did a land-and-sea. It was also having four days at WDW in that heat as well. DH & DD started having problems with headaches because of the heat.

I think the rest of the year, its better to do WDW first.

Definitely go for the 4 night cruise. The day at sea is just so relaxing.

We had our formal picture taken with Goofy - he blew kisses at me and took my arm.

That Goofy can really dance - did you see him at Pirate Night!!!! He grabbed DS's pirate hat and put it on his own head and danced around then gave it back to DS. :rotfl2:

That's what makes DCL cruises so special.

(I saw someone besides me reading the Harry Potter book at the adult pool :rotfl: )

Hi everyone:

glad to see all the pictures

And, BTW - I was standing right next to your son when this was being taken. You probably didn't see me.

Nice to have met everyone on the cruise
