Yay I LOVE it!!!!

d is awesome!! Perfect bag for me! V and I love Mary and she is the mos awesome nanny ever!

I did promise to scotch guard the bag!

The bag is beautiful. funny, I often think if I ever get on your list what would I choose for a theme. I have the hardest time. Then, I see something like this and say...."why didn't I think of that". :lmao: Beautiful

YAY for adding the savings from couponing into your disney fund.

prayers from here for everyone too.

I think I am caught up!

The Mary Poppins bag is AMAZING!!!! Mary is my favorite. :goodvibes

So how would you suggest getting dirt off a bag? We brought the messenger bag with us into the storm shelter and it got drenched and a little muddy. I am too afraid to clean it without asking how to spot clean it.

Congratulations to Chaira! I wish her a quick recovery from her c-section.

Awesome pictures as always ! That sandwich sounds like it would def be a favorite of mine BUT with the tomatoes

Me too, but I'd also add onions (not extra - just add them)

Thank you for all the continued prayers & I send them back to all in need of them Give Chiara much love when you have contact w/her again

I will - I also have a very small Chiara update below.

Which day to do you want to meet for ice cream? And where? Let me know, so I can get you down in my planner.

any day you have time would work for me IF we can avoid a Mon (not counting BB day) or a Tues that would be better but really up to the 3 of you and I will make it work :thumbsup2 thought you wanted to Ghiaridellis DTD but if somewhere else...Beaches & Cream...whatever..your choice I'd be happy with a Mickey Bar sitting on a curb with you ladies

That's right... I'd forgotten that we were doing DTD earlier in the week... We can certainly meet you at Ghiradelli's. The girls would love that!

The morning of our DTD day (Friday, Aug 23rd) is our late Ohana breakfast at 10:45. Now, the way they seat and how long it takes them, I am honestly not expecting to be seated any time before 11:30, give us an hour to eat... I guess we'd take the Poly bus directly to DTD? So, we would be there around 1pm? I cannot imagine that we would stay at DTD for more than a few hours? We didn't get very much time there last year - however - I know the girls are going to want some pool time on our day off, and I would like to have them in bed early (this is really our only day "off"), so I think we'd be headed back to the resort by 5pm? I have no idea what time we'd be ready for a "snack" that day - especially after such a big breakfast (ahem- lunch)... Probably around 2 or 3? From what I've seen of Ghiradelli's - those sundaes are a meal unto themselves. I am also thinking that this is the evening we will try to do the POR pasta bar for dinner... So, we'd probably take the DTD boat directly to POR? Sorry for the ramble... Just trying to nail down our schedule a bit. But clearly - you are WELCOME to join us at any time that day Ruthie... I know the girls would love it and so would I. :lovestruc

That bag is so cute! Though I'm not sure about using a white bag....I'm such a slob....

Why do you think it scared me so much? LOL I wanted it OUT of my house as fast as I possibly could. ::yes::

The Bag Is BEAUTIFUL and guess what I am watching right now ?? I kid you not a rainy Saturday here (yes AGAIN !) is a Disney movie day Bravo to you D it is simply

Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious

LOL Thanks Ruthie!

i love it!!!

i love the trip plans! no dis meet this day?!? seriously???

Thanks! As of now, no... I do have a couple of sewing friends that will be down there at the same time I am - but we have not even begun talking about when and where we are meeting... one of them is a good friend I met while in Charlotte last summer - so I am looking forward to meeting up with her again, and introducing her to the girls.

I really love the penguin on the zipper ♥

Thank you Lillian! How are you? I haven't seen you around much lately. I hope everything is going well. :lovestruc

Yay I LOVE it!!!!

d is awesome!! Perfect bag for me! V and I love Mary and she is the mos awesome nanny ever!

I did promise to scotch guard the bag!

Yes - first on your list - SCOTCH GUARD the bag. LOL So glad you like it!

The bag is beautiful. funny, I often think if I ever get on your list what would I choose for a theme. I have the hardest time. Then, I see something like this and say...."why didn't I think of that". Beautiful

Thank you Dee.

YAY for adding the savings from couponing into your disney fund.

prayers from here for everyone too.

Hopefully I can stick to it...

I think I am caught up!

The Mary Poppins bag is AMAZING!!!! Mary is my favorite.

Hi Ashley - thank you... How is little Jonah?

So how would you suggest getting dirt off a bag? We brought the messenger bag with us into the storm shelter and it got drenched and a little muddy. I am too afraid to clean it without asking how to spot clean it.

Well, all of my bags are machine washable... Now, since yours is interfaced (rather than quilted) - some of the interfacing may detach from the bag when you wash it - when you iron it, it should reattach from the inside - but I cannot guarantee that it will. I highly recommend that you spot clean yours first with non-bleach detergent to see if you can get any of it out that way. Otherwise... Delicate cycle... Mild detergent with out bleach. I also recommend you turn it inside out to wash, and wash it seperately from other items - if you have a lingerie bag you can get it into - I also recommend using that. All of my fabric is pre-washed and shrunk before I use it, so I am not worried about anything related to that. You can pre-treat those areas and scrub lightly with a product similar to spray n' wash or the stain stick... Just be careful - and if any of the dirt spots are on the applique itself - you can pretreat them, but you cannot scrub them - or it will wreck the applique. You can wash as many times as necessary. Then lay flat/hang to dry. Do not put them in the dryer. When it is dry - it will definately need to be ironed... Warm iron (set at cotton heat), being careful not to iron each area for too long, or it could scorch the fabric. Also, very quickly iron the applique - if you let the iron sit too long on the applique, it could melt the thread I used to stitch them down. Just go slowly and carefully. But I would FIRST- FOR SURE try to spot clean, if you can... just to see if that works. Let me know if you have any other questions. :lovestruc

Congratulations to Chaira! I wish her a quick recovery from her c-section.

Yes! I also have a very small Chiara update below.

GORGEOUS!! All I have to say about the bag.

Thank you Sandra!

**********************************************************

Chiara update: I did receive a text from her last night that she was home from the hospital. I did ask if I could update everyone, but I did not get a reply back - I am sure she is resting, and will update when she can.

**********************************************************

Yesterday was really an amazing sewing room day for me... I am working on my final auction bag set. I have waffled back and forth, several times, as to which character (and movie) I am going to base this set off of... I had two choices, and both of which I wasn't too excited about, but I felt that it was necessary for my trip budget to have a 5th bag set, and I wanted to stick with my theme. So, I started researching a few months ago... I bought fabric for the one, then I bought the fabric for the other... I still wasn't hit in the head with either of them. So, I continued to work on my other big auction bags - all the while - letting this last one stew in the back of my head. Finally - last week - I took the plunge and made a final decision on the theme - I chose the one I didn't think I would choose. So, I cut it out and once I quilted it - it finally came together... I think it was the combination of the color of the bag and the color of the thread that really made me "feel" it... Then yesterday, I started appliqueing the character on the front - and while I was appliqueing, I began to think about another character that would also be perfect for this bag - however - it had to be on the front, I didn't want it on the back this time. Which sort of presented a problem, seeing as I had already mostly appliqued the first character, and there was no room for a second character... So, I had to make room... I am now pretty excited about this bag... The starting bid will be much higher than I like - but it's very rare that I do 2 detailed appliques on a bag and this theme is just perfect for it... Not only that - but I really want to add a zipper pull as well - I was laying in bed last night when the image for the zipper pull came to me... I am a bit nervous about this bag, because it is not a "standard" bag theme, and I am not sure it is even a theme that a woman would want to carry? So, I am very nervous that not only is the bag theme not a "female" theme, but because of all the applique work involved, the opening bid will be high - so I run a very real risk of not getting any bids at all on this bag and eating the entire cost... Which makes me even more nervous. Mo said I need to go with my gut on this, and just know that what my gut tells me is right... But sometimes it's just so hard. So, I guarantee it will be a FUN bag... I guarantee it will be an AMAZING bag... I guarantee that it will be PERFECT... But I cannot guarantee that anyone will want it. :confused3

^^^ Sorry for the ramble... Since the bag theme is Disney - I do belive it's Disney related? I hope. And it's trip related, because it will pay off my trip. :wizard:

So, I finally pulled myself out of my sewing room at 6pm last night (oops - longer day than I'd realized) - sometimes I get so consumed with what I am doing, I totally lose track of time. I guess that's a sign that I love what I do?

The girls and I had leftovers for dinner last night... Then we watched Monster's Inc... It was on TV... We have the movie - so I don't know why we didn't pop it in?

Today, again, I will be in my sewing room - all day. I plan to stitch out that second added applique and hopefully finish this bag... That way I can work on the wallet through out the week - and maybe get started on my other planned items. I am running out of time very quickly.

Have a wonderful day everyone, and prayers going out to all who need them. :lovestruc

First: this is DISNEY trip planning,,,,not a ramble..:thumbsup2:

I think eating at about 11:30 to 12:30 will you all really want ice cream a few hours after that ? and then POR pasta bar a few hours after that ? I don't know :confused3 in bed early but DTD and pool same day? maybe you should all just "wing it" and get in touch that day & we can see what you feel like and I can come to you wherever you are...truthfully you are probably looking at a HOT day and you may not feel like eating anything at a particular time
so why plan it now KWIM ?

Prayers to Chiara c-section and out the door never understood the reasoning behind that (well insurance wise yes) but always seemed cruel to me

Have a blessed day all

Ruthie

Love the new bag, so unique. And of course, the penguin is perfect!

Prayers to Chiara and Kat, and anyone who needs it.

Love the planning. You are so much father ahead than me. But I am a procrastinator. Ran out of time for embroidering all our shirts, so just finished up 22 iron ons. And working on 2 outfits and 1 skirt, hope I get them finished in time. Next year I need to start this executing the plan a little sooner. Unfortunately, I seem to be able to pull things together more under pressure, but often have to change plans due to not having enough time. I need to strive to be more organized like you.

Again, many thanks for all your prayers and good thoughts for Kat. She had her feeding tube removed yesterday! The nurses also got her up on her feet on Friday. We are going to see her today, so I may have more to report later.

D~ you do need to follow your gut when it comes to your designs. You have always been bang on, so don't worry so much. Someone will want one of your creations!

I'd love it if you did make some camera straps, since I need one. No pressure though :rolleyes1

Great news on Kat....continued prayers.

And oh yes, camera straps. :)

prayers continue for Chiara as well & all my disboard friends.

D~ you have got me very curious with this last auction bag. I could go for a not so femine bag. hmmm...

I can't wait to see all the bags and items for the big auction.

Everything is ok here. We have had it very hot here the last 3 weeks. We got a temperature record that was 74ºF one of the last days in May. The last record was from 1995. And the rest of the days this past 4 weeks the temperature has been 68ºF The temperature is normally around 59ºF in the summer here.

And if that was'nt enough the temperature doesn't go down until 11pm or around midnight because the sun is up 24 hours a day. So when the temperature has gone down to a livable state it's time for bed.

It get's really warm inside since all our houses are built to hold on to the heat so we get it warm inside in the winter. The downside is that it gets very hot inside during an unusually warm summer. I have had several days with 86ºF inside.
Luckily I bought portable air condition a few years ago so I have been using that on the warmest days.

I'm looking forward to the fall when the temperatures are down again so it's possible to get a good night sleep :)

Congrats to V! Looks like you had a fun day. We don't do an 8th grade grad here.

Your Mary bag is absolutely perfect! How wonderful for a nanny. Love the lining fabric!

I've had late morning ADR at OHana. I think they tend to seat you pretty quick when you go late. Plus they make sure you see the characters pretty quickly. Once they make sure everyone has seen the characters the characters can leave. I don't think it will take you quite as long as you think it might.

Yay for getting so much sewing done. Can't wait to see your auction items. I just can't imagine you could make anything that many wouldn't love to purchase. I also can't think of any Disney character that a female wouldn't want to carry. There are however many princess/girly characters that I would likely never carry.

I need to strive to be more organized like you.
:thumbsup2Me too!

I pray your medical issues resolve very quickly.

Enjoy each moment. What a beautiful blessing.

Firstly, congratulations Chiara on your beautiful baby girl! Hope all is well with you.

Went to see Kat today. Let me just say that Walter Reed is huge! We finally found her room and she was sitting up in a chair eating breakfast and lunch - lol

She was sleeping when they brought breakfast in and woke up in time for lunch, but she ate from both trays. She's on a calorie count because they want to make sure she is getting enough nutrients.

She is talking in phrases, though she can't say some words. She will substitute her brother's name at times and then type the word out on her phone. Her boyfriend was there on leave and will stay with her until Friday and then he has to go back to New Mexico. My brother leaves on Tuesday, but both Kat's Dad and her Mom are staying on site with her.

She looks really good and is making terrific progress!

So glad to hear she is doing better!

Yes, Walter Reed is a huge place! Once, when my middle son was an inpatient, we got 'lost' trying to find where we were supposed to be...we were outside in the employee parking lot and all we had to do was to go in the front door...unfortunately, we were no where near the front door! After what seemed like hours (which in reality was only about 30 minutes...but it was cold! and he was medicated in a way that made him want to sleep and he was 6 ..a bit big to carry!) ... an MP felt sorry for us and let us in a door we weren't supposed to go in and then directed us to an unsecure elevator.... After that we took a map every time we left the room!

I was very sad when I heard the rumors they were going to close it...I have some fond memories of that place...like my third child was born there... very glad they decided to leave it open...at least for now!

Very happy about Kat and that she is progressing so well.

Thanks Terry, I appreciate that... Gonna try for camera straps - they will be the very last item... Still have a wallet to finish up and 3 more GACs (hopefully) before I get to the camera straps. :thumbsup2

Yah - I don't enjoy doing the princesses too much - not only are their facial features a bit difficult to capture and give feeling to, but not many women like to carry princess bags. :confused3 I guarantee you all - there are no princesses in these sets.

Well, I finished my LAST auction bag yesterday - barely... It turned out fantastic, and I am very excited about it. Even though it was a bag I wasn't looking forward to, and it was a bit hard to come together in my mind, it turned out to be one of my favorites in this release. I can't wait to show you all! Even if it doesn't sell - I still like it. ::yes::

This morning - I will be working on the coordinating wallet... And a possible zipper pull. Then I will work on my custom order for the week... I forgot to wash the fabric for it - so it's in the wash now... Oops.

V babysat for the neighbors yesterday, and then ended up spending the night. So, Alli and I hung out and watched Long Island Medium - I love watching that show when I can catch it.

I hope you all have a wonderful day today! :thumbsup2
