~Aug 2013~ Sew what~We've gotta find a way back-Part II- TR link posted - 8/31

I am posting this here, as well, just in case you don't see it on FB or in Chiara's PTR...

Chiara just texted me and asked me to let you all know that she is having her baby tonight, her C section is scheduled for 9:30pm Eastern time.

I don't know any details other than that, but I do believe that prayers for both her and the baby would be coveted.

D~

Yay for Chiara!!! Best wishes for Mom and baby....can't wait to see pics :cheer2:

Been wondering and wondering for some reason I thought it would be May Of course best of prayers being sent to Chiara and new baby Can't wait for more news and pictures !!

Also glad to hear Tess' niece Kat coming along what a wonderful Father's early Day gift for her Dad
(as far as "decisions being made elsewhere...well that's the military for you !)

Given the issues Chiara has been having with her BP and swelling, this is probably a good thing. Prayers being said for both mom and baby.

Kat is at Walter Reed, finally. My brother called and the Navy has put him up in a room at Walter Reed through Monday. He will be flying home on Tuesday. He said Kat has made really good progress since he met up with her in Honolulu. Last Friday she could only say "yeah" and give a thumbs up or down for yes or no. She is now saying phrases, though she can't say a whole lot yet. She has some movement in her right leg, but not so much in her arm. She can have liquids and soft foods like jello or popsicles. We are planning to see her at some point over the weekend, probably.

It seems that once I get up there to work, I can't make myself leave... But other days - I can't get out of my sewing room fast enough... LOL The problem is that I have soooo many things to get done for our trip, and I know that once I finish this last bag set, I am free to work on our trip stuff in my spare time. :woohoo: And thanks to Jennifer (at princess pie bowtique) - she has me designing bags off of her headbands and I have her designing headbands off of my bags for our trip... It's getting a little out of hand - but rediculously FUN!
!

D~
Yay for getting lots done! Can't wait to see what you come up to go with your super cool headbands. So fun!!!

I think I would be able to get more done if I had a sewing room.

I did see on FB this morning that Chiara had her baby - however - she did not post it herself, and I'd like to leave the announcement to her. From what I read Mom and Baby are fine.

They usually have mini cream puffs...but I think you are looking at the canolis up in that picture. Yum
... Those are delish! But my favorite are the Mango Shooters....yummmo. Can't wait!

Mmmmm.....

OK from what I can remember - there were pudding cups with graham crust, choc and berry mousse, cookies, mango shooters, assorted tart (key lime and fruit ones) choc and PB tart things, choc covered strawberries, double or triple choc mousse, truffle balls which OMG were my FAVE!! -- canoli's, creme brule and an ice cream machine.. might have been more I just can't remember.. LOL

OK - it all sounds divine! I cannot wait to dig in!

Yay for Chiara!!! Best wishes for Mom and baby....can't wait to see pics

Me too - I am so excited!

I agree...

Ahhh, got it... I wasn't thinking "military" - I should know better.

Glad Kat is finally at WR... Also so happy to hear about her progress. Glad you get to see her this weekend. :thumbsup2

I think I would be able to get more done if I had a sewing room.

I am excited to see what I come up with to coordinate with the headbands too... I just love Jennifer's ideas!

I do get a TON more done with my sewing room... before I had one - I was spending more time than anything packing and unpacking... Now I can just leave my projects out and pick up where I left off - it's so much easier.

good news! Prayers continue.

Yes - for sure.

**********************************************************

I thought I worked at Target yesterday... I did not. Oops - that's the second time I have done this recently.

I work today though. :confused3

So, I came home and worked on my custom order for this week. I am making good progress there - I hope to finish tomorrow.

Then I will work on my final BIG Auction bag... Once I am finished with this, I have a GAC set to do... And that's it. I do have a $$ goal to make with this auction, so I might end up making something else as a "bumper" just incase... I have not decided yet.

**********************************************************

In trip related news... I did go through and count my GCs yesterday - it has been several weeks since I purchased the bulk of them, and I had forgotten how many I have. I am pretty sure, as long as I get one or two bids on everything, I should be able to make my goal with this big auction. This final bag - the character is very unique, and I have a feeling it will be hit or miss. :scratchin But I am still going to go with it, because I think the character itself is likeable.

I've been trying to work our trip budget up one side and down the other... I am still so nervous that I am going to be cutting it close - not for pay off, but for the other stuff... I really need to put all of my "other stuff" on a list according to priority...

Once the bulk of the trip is paid off, I still have to purchase:

1. Park tickets & Water Park Tickets ($1000)
2. Photopass + (150)
3. Baggage fees ($150)
4. OOP meals (approx $250)
5. Tips (approx $100)
6. Souvenier $$ (only for me, the girls are providing their own) - not sure how much yet???
7. Dessert party ($75)
8. Our final 3 headbands...

So, once I pay off the trip - I still have a lot more saving to do. :scared: It's going to be rough... At some point, I may have to start whiddling things away... The first to go will probably be the + portion of Photopass... Then the extra meals... But I really think we will be OK.... It's just gonna be close.

Alrighty... Enough trip rambling for me today...

Must go get ready for work.

Have a great day everyone... Prayers to all and CONGRATS to Chiara and her DH (if she sees this).

Yes, I am on the dining plan... but we kind of go over our snack budget... :rolleyes1 And some days - even though I say it's "snacks" I am really paying for breakfast, because it's way cheaper and we can just refill our mugs... So, our "snack" budget is actually our OOP meal budget. popcorn::

congrats to Chiara on the baby. Glad everyone is fine.

So, since you mentioned the Photopass Plus, can someone explain exactly how this works, how much it is, and your opinions if it is worth it? I keep debating on it, but then I fear I am not understanding it correctly, so I don't order it in the end.

Sounds like you are doing great with the sewing. You are a super star. I love the off the track characters. I can't wait to see the one you are doing for the Big Auction. hey... BA.... could also be Bad A@$. .... just saying

Hope your work day goes well.

Chiara update: I just recieved a text from her, the baby is fine and healthy, but she has not been feeling well since the delivery. She is asking for continued prayers. <3

Such great news!! I pray she continues to improve in speech and mobility. I know you'll be so glad to actually see her and hug her this weekend. That is just awesome!!

Oh no. Praying.

First off -missing five days on the Dis is like a month on a deserted island - so much happens!!!

Prayers for Chiara & all those who need it - which is probably all of us in one form or another.

Every time you misremember your schedule, the manager in my giggles and wants to say "WRITE YOUR SCHEDULE DOWN" Being the manager that I am, I provide all my direct reports a hard copy of the schedule, but part of that is due to the fact that I used to work with teenagers and they need all the help they can get usually.

I saw your ticker and was kind of shocked at how close your trip is. So many people around me have trips coming up, next week our HR manager is going, next month a manger peer of mine is going and then in August one of the educators is going for the first time since she was a kid! I'm excited for all of you.

5 days? I feel like if I miss 5 hours it takes so long to get caught up. :confused3

I had to laugh at your managering teens. My DH is always complaining about "young adults" calling daily to find out their schedule. He finally said, "you have a phone with a camera? ... take a picture of the schedule." I thought that was pretty creative!

Oh no...I hope it is quickly passing. Will be thinking of her!

So glad the baby is doing well and I hope Chiara feels better soon.

Kat has been moved from intensive care to a regular room and has been cleared to eat whatever!

I made lots of progress in my sewing room yesterday on my custom order. Then in the afternoon I switched to my final big auction bag... I was trying to figure something out in my head - and I think I got it yesterday - so that makes me more pleased about this set. I really hope to finish it by the end of the weekend - that would make me immensely happy!

I've been deep into trip planning for our own trip... Because of my conversations with Jen yesterday - I have sooo many customs ideas, my head is twirling from the excitement of it all, and it also forced me to add an entire extra bag set on to my work load for our trip.... :rolleyes1 If you all saw my list, well... It's kind of crazy - I still dont' know how I am going to get it all done... It would make me immensely happy if I could get started on something this weekend - but I dont' think that will happen?

Ok - better run... I *think* I work at Target today... I haven't been there in 2 weeks, so I haven't seen my schedule, I am just going out on a limb... I will be there in Red and Khaki at the time I normally am, and hope for the best.

Have a fantastic day everyone!

D~

Getting excited for the auction! Can't wait to see what all the new bags look like!

It is fun planning everything though!! I've been on a bow kick recently for Sarah and my poor DH if he knew how much money I've spent!!! Would not make him very happy with me right now!!

Congrats and prayers for Chiara!! Hope she starts to feel better soon!

Got some good news today in regards to my accident! Finally heard from the other guys insurance today to give my statement. Here we are almost a month later and my insurance was all over getting me back to where I needed to be with getting my van fixed. His insurance told me that after hearing both sides they are condering it 50/50 because he told them I was moving (she made this determination right after I gave my statement, don't think she took mine into consideration at all). Uhhh NO!! I was stopped so he wouldn't hit me!! I reiterated to her in a very nice firm way that no I was stopped! I stopped to make sure he had room and wouldn't hit me. I have said from the beginning I was stopped and he hit me. That's what happened why would I say any different now. So I got off the phone with her saying she would call my insurance company to see if they had reached a determination of fault and would go from there. I was a little upset when we hung up but am like oh well it is what it is. About an hour later I get a call from my insurance company telling me that they are sending paperwork over to the other insurance company because by the end of their conversation it has been deemed 100% HIS FAULT!!!! She even told me regardless if I was moving or not he still hit me so how they can say it's anyone's fault but his is ridiculous. Makes me thankful I have such a reputable company that will fight for their insured's rights. I've now sent over my out of picket expenses to make sure it all get's paid back with little to no fight. Here's to hearing more good news about it in the next few days!

I just did photopass + in May. You get the CD you would get of your trip photos that you would with photopass PLUS you get all ride photos (digital on CD with other photos) PLUS dining photo packages at places that take photos like Tusker House PLUS a CD of about 400 stock photos of the parks & resorts. Plus is $169 prepaid so only $30 more than regular CD. You get a special plus photopass card and I did find that the photographers tended to take more photos when they saw that card and know you prepaid for the CD. My May trip was with a coworker and her 10 yo DD. I wanted the 10 yo to have all the pictures even ride photos from her first (only) trip. If you know you want regular CD and are doing an ADR with pictures (like Chef Mickeys) OR think you might buy 2 ride photos then I really think plus is worth the extra cost.

All that being said I haven't decided yet if I'll get it in August. I don't think we will do any ADRs that do photos. And the ride photos usually have other people in them.

Thank you very much for explaining. If you don't mind a couple more questions... So, I get that you get the CD with both packages & the rides/character photos, but can you order the prints from the traditional photopass website at no charge, or do you take the CD to a photo place like CVS or something & get them there? My printer isn't very good for photos, but I imagine with the CD I could print them myself if I so choose, ist that correct? Sorry for the silly questions, but this has always confused me a bit. Then again, I just figured out texting not too long ago.
