Your list of things to get done for your trip IS a lot!! Wow! Hope you can get it all done and retain your sanity. I am very much wanting to plan a trip for September. That free dining beckons me and September is our favorite time to go since the crowd levels are so low. But, DH wants to get our house paid off in the next 3 years and all our extra $ is going to that. So, it may not happen. But he does like to give me anything I want, so we'll see. I haven't brought it up to him yet.
I hope I can get it all done too. That would be fun if you could go in September - I wish we could, but with the girls' school schedules, it just isn't possible.
I struggle with paying things off - especially now that it won't be long and the girls will be off on their own... I figure - I pay off some, and and save some for fun - I have the rest of our lives to pay everything off, but I need to enjoy this little bit of time I have left with the girls young too.
It's so great that you're getting a bit of help from Liz and Chiara. Not that either of them have much going on
I know - they are soooo busy... But I am so happy they are helping out.
As far as the flip flops, I have a good friend who just loves the croc flip flops. They are supportive and look pretty cool as well. you might want to try them. I bought some Keens online last year and love them. They aren't the prettiest things, but they are super comfy. Also, anything by Finn is amazingly supportive and comfortable. Lots of styles, but pretty pricey. Online is better for prices. Zappos always has free shipping and they carry all kinds of brands.
I have a hard time with crocs personally... I never had any foot issues at all until I started wearing them... Not sure if it's just my feet or what? I know that most people wear them and love them.
Well, down to my sewing room I go. Hope you have a great day and that the storm damage is minimal for everyone.
I hope you had a great sewing room day!
We have a DIS friend (who I had the pleasure of meeting at Disney during our December trip), who lives in Moore, Oklahoma. Thankfully, we talked to her last night and she and her family are fine; the devastation around her is surreal as she said.
Oh no... Thanks for letting me know... I am relieved they are OK - how horrible... I feel so badly for everyone in that area. I just can't imagine.

your a busy bee...
Glad your "taking a week off" IF that's what you call it in Minn.. here in Chicago when we take off that mean no work... well the exception of cleaning cooking and running the kids all over still.
9 DAYS!!!
Yes - that is my "week off" - which isn't really... Whoot for 8 days now!
I second the crocs flip flops - I have 2 pair (one I got in Disney - very $$$, but very comfy) - the second pair I bought off the crocs website, they were last years model and on sale. I wore both pair when I was in Hawaii and they were very comfy.
I also just bought a pair of sandals from our Clarks outlet for about $25 - Privos, I think they were called. Seem to be similar in design to Keens, but without the price. I wore them most of the weekend and found them to be comfortable as well.
OK - ok - I will look into the Crocs, but only because you all insist. I will also look into Clarks.
I love the Gingerbread House set! It's absolutely adorable.
I am interested to see what type of flip flops you purchase. I can never find good shoes for WDW. I have tried them all and always have the worst blisters. I always end up wearing my old ugly sneakers by the end of the trip.
It has been a tiring week so far in Oklahoma to say the least. We live north of Moore, but on Sunday the tornado that impacted Shawnee was forming above where we live. We're lucky enough to have a neighbor who allows us to join them in their shelter. I just hope we can catch a break for the rest of the week so the workers can do what they need to do.
I replied to part of your post yesterday... but I will post below about the shoes/sandals... I am such a shoe freak - it isn't even funny.
I woke up today to the news today about the terrible weather in Oklahoma. I can't belive that they only got the warning 16 minutes prior to it happening.
Sounds like you have a very busy time in the sewing room even if you have a week of next week. I hope you can rest a little on your week off.
Yes - it is so sad.
I hope so too - LOL - but it isn't looking that way.
D~ V looks so grown up in her formal dress and I love her shoes! I'm glad she is still a kid at heart - having a ride in the shopping cart! That must have been a fun shopping trip.
It was a lot funny and a bit embarassing at first - but we got used to her. LOL
I'm sure you will be able to get most of your bags done. I was thinking about just making a "cover" for my custom camera strap. I wanted another themed strap but don't feel like recreating another strap so I might try to just make a cover because I love how comfy the strap I made is vs. the strap that came with the camera. Short-cut - YES but for one time use it might fit my bill.
If only I could make a cover for my bags...

I love the idea of doing the appliques on felt. I have the same problem here but luckily I can talk Casey into wearing her "old" custom shirts as PJ tops or can pass them down to her cousin. It does seem like a waste to make something they will only wear once.
Hopefully it works... Then, I was thinking - once we get home, I will just seam rip them off and save them for our next trip - then the girls can still wear their tank tops.

I just bought a new pair of flip flops. Well, actually they are slides from skechers. Normally I don't have luck with sketchers but I really like these. They have a good arch and give me lots of support. They also have an adjustable strap so you can make them slightly wider or more narrow if needed. They were around $40 after coupons at Rack Room Shoes. I am wearing them to break them in before our trip and have been happy with them so far. I hope you can find something for the girls. Maybe Lands End has something???
Thanks for the link... I looked at those... Alli is so picky - everything I show her she doesn't like... It gets really tiring, because I want them to be comfortable in Disney, and all they care about is fashion.

I apologize I am so far behind ///// thanks Mo its YOUR fault will catch up fast as I can Just had to comment on the bag Yummmmmmmmmmm I can practically smell the Gingerbread Bravo fantastic job LOVE the lining too
Sure blame me.. it was ONE weekend!!!
There was a famous movie
The Lost Weekend
just sayin' don't say it was ONE weekend like that could give the wrong impression maybe pick a line from Mr Magoo re-Road Hogs LOL ;-)
Yah - I am hoping your Cliff Notes on her PTR help me get through it... I still have to go back and comment on her second post...

The new set is unique. and..for those not initiated with the Disney Dots, not specifically Disney - If I went to other Christmas activities, like a craft fair or holiday village, I'd take it then too.
That it is Ruth! Yes, I agree - it's Disney, but unless you knew it - you woudn't know it.

Sorry for the messing of the first wallet. Sometimes you just have to blast the Pandora. Of course, I don't have Disney Station specifically, but I do have Zydeco and Bollywood. Maybe I should add Disney, to get in the mood.
I guess - I didn't care what I blasted, as long as I wasn't listening to myself swear anymore.

I found a Tinkerbell dust ruffle for $2.00 the last time I went to the thrift store and I am working on disassembling it. It's handmade, so I feel a little bad about taking it apart, but the fabric is in very good condition and, hey - $2.00! Now I just need to think of something to make.
Cool - I am curious to see what you make with it.
Hang in there for your personal customs. And I have faith that you'll get as much as you want done - without sacrificing the auction items.
I hope so too!

I worked all day long yesterday in my sewing room... I got a lot accomplished, I am very pleased. I am also back on schedule.

I got the call from my mechanic last night... Not good news about my Edge...

Stay tuned for a really LONG rambling post about shoes...
To take my annoyance off of my car situation... I went online shoe shopping last night... No - I did not buy anything... I only LOOKED.

So far... These are the shoes I am planning to take with me... (and, yes, I am a dork - I uploaded pictures of shoes to my photobucket account...

First - these are my Orthaheels... I wear them everywhere - all day, every day - winter, spring, summer, fall. However - I just realized I have been wearing my current pair for 4 years - I think it's time to get a new pair. I love these because they are waterproof, they have the super high arch I need for my planter fascitis (sp?), and they are also very versitile - I can really wear them with anything.

Second - I will be bringing my Keens... I don't wear these a ton anymore, but I have gone back to wearing them to work. I plan to bring these with on our trip because they are semi-waterproof... I wore them on the one really downpour day we had last year, and they were great. The only bad thing about these is that I cannot wear them with out socks - they drive me crazy... So, yes - I am "that person" who wears socks with sandals.

Third - I just got a new pair of tennies a few weeks ago... I purchased these, because for the first time in many years - I put them on in the store and my plantar fascitis didn't act up... They were a little tight because I have a wide foot - so I had to come come and order the next size up... which makes them a hair longer than I'd like - but they are comfortable. I've worn them a few times - here and there... but I plan to break them in a lot harder before our trip.

I would still like to get a pair of red Orthaheels like my black ones... but I have not decided yet if I want to - seeing as I would prefer if the footbed wasn't red, but I do like the strap... We will see... I have this "thing" for red shoes...

As for the girls... I would like to get them something supportive, yet somewhat water proof, and definately a flip-flop, because that is really all we wear in the summer... I found these - and I LOVE them, I think they are so cute, a good price, and everything I am looking for... but I discovered that this is a colorway from a few years ago - and no longer available anywhere... So, I didn't bother showing the girls - or I'd be hunting for them forever.

I did show them these though... Which is the same flip-flop, but one of this year's colorways... Neither of them liked them at all. Figures...

I also showed them these - same brand - different style... I thought for sure - hot pink/zebra... total hit... Nope... it was a total fail. What is wrong with these girls???

I am really liking what I see and the reviews of the Reef Fanning - but they just don't come in any cute girly colors like it seems they carried in the past - unless they have yet to release them? But a lot of the Reef Flip-Flops have the contoured EVA footbed with anatomical arch support - which is what I am looking for specifically for the girls - and their price point is reasonable - IMO.
If only I could find them something cute and girly - yet practical and functional (and water proof would be fantastic)... But I am not having much luck.

I just knew there was a reason I woke at 3am this morning... It was to bore you all with shoe information.

Seriously - I work at Target today... Then I have to go to BFF's house to exchange her car for my Edge - and bring the beast home...
I hope you all have an amazing day... Ashley and everyone else near OK - please know you are in my thoughts and prayers... and that goes for everyone else who has requested the same lately.
