~ Aug 2013~ Sew what... We've gotta find a way back! Part I!!

The Tigger bag is as always, pretty darn awesome.

Now then, about 3D sewing...this is my area! The whole reason I got back into sewing was a) costuming and b) cloth dolls - 3D sewing! Of course, if that element isn't necessarily cloth based, then I probably wouldn't be able to help.

I've actually thought about putting pictures of some of my dolls on my FB page, but I usually check all these social places on my Kindle and I haven't figured out a way to stor picts on the fire yet.

I have never had strep, but my niece had it every year from about age 11 to 15. She was horrible to live with because she was so miserable. Poor V.

And the resort idea for bags is really great. I may have to think about that for 2014.

Just got back from the Dr. V has the influenza virus. She is much more perky today than yesterday, which is good - but I don't think this is over. The strain that has been going through the girls' schools has been a 5-7 day deal. :faint:

Just waiting for the rest of us to get it now.

Dang, well, good thing it isn't strep!! I hate it when one person gets something, then it takes it's time getting around the house. That happens here all the time!! I hope she feels better soon!!!

Poor V...this is a tough flu this year. Kids seem to start feeling better and then take a turn for the worse again and are susceptible to other infections (DW is a pediatrician...been seeing a lot of it this year). I would keep her home for the full week and just let her rest. Were they able to use anti-virals or was she too far in for that?

Yah - that's what I am kind of worried about... There was even a teen girl that was somewhat local who died from the Flu last week - and the paranoid mom that I am... I am not sure if she had other complications - but I just keep pumping the fluids into V, and hope it helps.

The Dr. didn't say anything about anti-virals... So, my guess is that she is too far in for that?

Hope she feels better soon. Lots of juice, airborne and lysol the house for the rest of you. :thumbsup2

Thanks Kathy... I've been doing just that.

D~

Sorry to hear that V has the flu. :sad1::sick: Hopefully the rest of you can avoid getting it. I've had it and it's no fun. :sad2:

I love your new bags...especially the Tigger! The bouncy tail on the zipper pouch is just adorable. And what a great job V did on the lanyards. I'm not sure I could stitch a straight line on a sewing machine...much less make that! WOW! :yay:

So sorry that V has the flu it is so bad this year. I was at the hospital with MIL today and they were saying how awful it is today.

I am totally in love with the tigger bag. Fabulous job.

Wow!!! I just went back and read how you started sewing and it amazes me!! I think it's awesome that you are THAT good after just that short amount of time!!! You are amazing!! :thumbsup2 ::yes:: :thumbsup2

sorry to hear V got the flu...hope it doesn't spread to the rest of you and she's feeling better soon!

tigger bag is fun!

Oh no! I hope V feels better soon!!! Hopefully the rest of you some how manage to miss getting it!!

I also loved her laynards! They turned out great!

Another great bag!! I also loved the little bounce on the wallet. Just added more personality to it.

Update on Jeremy is he's been fever free for over 24 hours now so back to school he goes tomorrow! Found out that yesterday there were 7 kids in his class out sick and 5 kids were out today!!

I've been missing in action for a few days, but I'm so glad to come back to see not one but two fabulous bags. I am totally in love with the Tigger one!!!!! I have a photo of me with Tigger and I have such a goofy look on my face (you should pardon the expression:rotfl:) And the Daisy bag is wonderful too. Love the colors!

Hope V is feeling better by now. I used to get Strepp throat every year when I was in high school. I lost 15 pounds in a week because I couldn't stand to swallow much of anything! Glad hers wasn't Strepp, but the flu is no picnic either. Hope no one else in your household gets sick!

Glad your meeting went better than expected. You'll whip those newbies into shape!:lmao:

Wow!!! I just went back and read how you started sewing and it amazes me!! I think it's awesome that you are THAT good after just that short amount of time!!! You are amazing!! :thumbsup2 ::yes:: :thumbsup2

Amazing is the exact word I used when I read her story. ::yes::

Great lanyards V made. She is really talented in the sewing room. I hope she contiunes to sew so she can enjoy it and make things she wants for herself when she is grownup

Thanks Lillian... I will be sure to tell her. I agree - I hope it's something she continues to love.

The Tigger bag is fantastic!

Thanks!

Holy Moly! I have MISSED a lot!!!

Hi Mo! It's great to see you here - I've missed ya! I do like Suzi's idea - and I might just use it. :thumbsup2

Hmmm... That typing had to have been odd? ROFL

I sure hope V is feeling better! Theres so much icky stuff going around!
the Tigger bag is Bouncy good!

THanks Ruth... Speaking of Ruth... Has anyone seen Ruthie lately - she hasn't been around for several days... :scratchin

Oh wow, I love the Tigger bag! The wallet is so cute with the boucy tail. And the inside material is just perfect.

Sorry that V is feeling so poorly. I hope they figure out what she has quickly so they can get her meds so she can feel better soon.

Thanks Ariana... I will do another V update at the bottom.

I posted this link on Bouncy cat's fb page. She will go ga-ga when she sees Tigger! Great job. And V great Lanyards.

Thanks Tink - that was very thoughtful of you!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT. Tigger is my favorite (and I know Christie's too). So adorable and love the colors.

Thanks Kathy! I didn't know Tigger was your favorite...

Ok as a TIGGER fan I LOVE the Tigger bag! If I was a bag person I'd totally want one!

So...did V get diagnosed with Strep?

Oh and how can I find your Facebook fan page? I'd love to see it or just search and add me: Dina Caddeo

Thanks and can't wait to hear more about the trip planning!

LOL - you've said that to me a few times... I think you are destined to become a bag person eventually. :rotfl2:

I will do an update at the bottom about V.

A lovely bag. Great colors and once again lovely details. I like how the black line on the wallet illustrates the bouncing

Thanks Lillian!

OMG OMG OMG!!!! LOVE IT!!! I can't WAIT to get it!! I'll show you pictures with me of course!! Thanks SOOOOO Much!!! Happeeee Birthday to MEE!!!

:tigger:

I hope you had a good birthday! And I can't wait to see pictures. :thumbsup2

Yah - I am still not sure if I like it - I feel like there is something not quite how I want it, and I just can't put my finger on it.

I've actually thought about putting pictures of some of my dolls on my FB page, but I usually check all these social places on my Kindle and I haven't figured out a way to stor picts on the fire yet.

I hope you're able to figure it out soon - I would love to see!

Awww... Your poor neice. I will do a V update at the bottom.

I like the resort idea too... Now, if I can figure out how I want to do it...

Hope she feels better soon. Lots of juice, airborne and lysol the house for the rest of you. :thumbsup2

Thanks Kathy... I will do a V update at the bottom.

This is exactly what I am worried about. She was quite perky yesterday (compared to the day before)... So, I am a bit anxious to see how she is feeling today.

I love the new bags! You are so talented :goodvibes I hope that V is feeling better soon, strep is no fun :(

Thanks! I know - that Tigger bag really turned out cute. The Daisy one did too - but the lighting in my sewing room really made it look awful. :( Oh well, maybe that will keep the price lower and someone will get a fantastic deal. :thumbsup2

So sorry that V has the flu it is so bad this year. I was at the hospital with MIL today and they were saying how awful it is today.

Thanks for the compliments on the Tigger bag. :wizard:

Wow!!! I just went back and read how you started sewing and it amazes me!! I think it's awesome that you are THAT good after just that short amount of time!!! You are amazing!!

Thanks! LOL I don't think I am amazing... I am a bit shocked at myself, still. LOL But I have so much fun - that's for sure.

sorry to hear V got the flu...hope it doesn't spread to the rest of you and she's feeling better soon!

tigger bag is fun!

I noticed... Now if Ruthie would just show her face again... Both of you were missing. :scratchin

Hope V is feeling better by now. I used to get Strepp throat every year when I was in high school. I lost 15 pounds in a week because I couldn't stand to swallow much of anything! Glad hers wasn't Strepp, but the flu is no picnic either. Hope no one else in your household gets sick!

Wow! So glad that you got over that stage, I can't imagine! I will do an update on V below.

Glad your meeting went better than expected. You'll whip those newbies into shape!

Yah - there were many things that were just awful - but like I said, I really went in thinking the worst, and it was better than that. I sure hope it doesn't continue this way, however - because I am so tired of us being accused of doing things that we did not do, and being accused of having to fix things that we did not cause... Basically - we were left to clean up a HUGE mess (which we are still cleaning up) - and we also took all the blame for it. :( I just need to let that part go, and move forward - but it's so hard when the very people that caused it are sitting there blaming you in the audience. It's so frustrating.

Amazing is the exact word I used when I read her story.

LOL Thanks. I am really not that amazing... I am just weird. :3dglasses

**********************************************************

First off... V update... She was much more perky yesterday. The fevers she was running all day were more low grade than the days before. I am hopeful that she is better, however, from what the Dr. told me yesterday - this strain has been having some time in the middle where people appear to be getting better, and then it comes back with a vengance. So, I am hopeful that she is better, but I am anxious to see her this morning so I can decide for myself. At least she ate a real meal last night at dinner - more than she has eaten combined for days, so I was glad to see that.

She is very excited about her Lanyards now... She even had me make her a new logo for the top of her auction pages... It's pretty cute - she told me what she wanted and I made it for her. So, you all will have to check it out. :thumbsup2

After V's Dr. appointment... We stopped at Target to stock up on some sicky supplies... Soup, juice... You know - all the good stuff. :thumbsup2 Then we came home, and I worked in my sewing room.

I've started final assembly on my bag... There is one part on it that I am just not sure about yet, and if it doesn't come around - I am going to have to rip apart the whole bag... So, I hope that I like it soon. :rotfl: Josh likes it and the girls like it, and there have been times where this has happened and it's turned out good... Sometimes I chalk it up to me being more critical than necessary.

No trip planning news to report - except hours were released yesterday. I did get an email from Touring Plans that a few of the crowd predictions had changed, but I compared them to our planned schedule and the changes didn't affect us at all. I do need to go and look at the EMHs though and see how that works out, and if our plans coincide with any of those.

I am very excited to be making our ADRs in a few short weeks... However - I hope that the website is back to being somewhat hassle free by then. It's been better this last week, but I am still a bit aprehensive. There are a few ADRs that I am banking on that +10 day rule on. :surfweb:

I hope all of you have a wonderful day today!

D~

yesterday & today first time since Christmas I had 2 days in a week off ! oh the plans I had
meet a friend at Fort Wildernes for breakfast buffet yesterday after work that actually happened and was wonderful to catch up after I got home plans went out window
fell asleep mid afternoon and slept and slept basically lost that day

Today major laundry housecleaning bill paying dancing around Disboards trying to catch up with threads and friends texting as my email account is acting wonky

Saving the best for last Your thread D I am now going to crack open that bottle of white zinfandel pour a glass put my feet up and start catching up with this chatty loveable group (until Greys Anatomy & Scandal comes on anyway )
:happytv:

RuthIE

So... I am trying to decide what kind of theme I would like to do for our custom bags for this trip...

V has given me her request (it's not what you think)... Alli has given me her request (it's probably what you think)... Then there's me...

I am kind of sick of making Donald bags - to be truthful...

So, I am stuck... :rolleyes1

What kind of theme do you all think I should have for this year's bag? Remember - I will probably only have time to make ONE  (Even though - I'd really like to bring a few and change them out)... :wizard:

If you could have any bag theme in the world - what would it be? :surfweb:

D~

For me it would be Disney animals the star would be Pluto his love the little ****zu Fifi ?
L&T and those dogs Marie so many characters I think it would have to be a piece of luggage a UPB wouldn't be big enough It must include Horace Horsecollar

RuthIE

Hi Ruthie! So happy to see you here - it had been a few days, and I was starting to wonder if you were OK. :thumbsup2

Sounds like you've had a fun couple of days. I wish I could just go to FW for breakfast. :scratchin

The wine sounded lovely... I am more of a Riesling girl myself. Glad you were able to kick your feet up and relax a little bit.

I was laying in bed this morning, and I remembered that I forgot to email you - I haven't signed into my email in days... I will try to remember to do that this weekend. :lovestruc

LOL It took me a while to figure out some of these characters you mentioned. :) Especialy the censored dog one. LOL I agree- Goofy isn't a dog. What exactly is he? I told V that I think he is a cow because of his love for Clarabelle??? But I honestly have no idea. All I know is that V loves him - and he is a great character to create with. :lovestruc

I am pretty sure the original Donald bag will be staying home. I know I promised you all pictures of it after I returned last year - and I kind of forgot - but it does look really nasty (it's pretty dirty) and with Donald's signature in black Sharpie over his face, it just looks awful - I would be pretty embarassed to carry it - to be honest. I am going to do my best to try and squeeze in another Donald bag for myself. ::yes::

Anyways - glad to see you back Ruthie! :woohoo:

**********************************************************

Well, yesterday my auctions started...

V is sooooo pleased with her's. Every few hours she would ask me what they were at, so I'd have to go check for her. I figured out how much $$ dinner at CRT would cost us (finally got the website to load - argh!)... And I am willing to pay for a regular TS meal, which equates to about half. She was hoping to get $10 each, and I think they are above that now - So, I think she will only have to make and sell maybe 8 more? It really depends on what these end at. However, I think she has a bit of Pixie Dust in her eyes... She may continue on making them so that she can have some extra souvenier $$ too? We will see. I just think it's so wonderful that they are selling, and she is doing quite well. :lovestruc

V is also doing much better. I keep bracing myself to have it hit her again - but she is about 36 hours fever free now - so I think we are in the clear. I hope. I did keep her home from school yesterday, because she wasn't quite 24 hours fever free in the morning. And now the girls are off of school until Tuesday.

Yesterday was MM's 1st Birthday! VIctoria called me at work to remind me... So, after work - I quick grabbed a bag of birthday hats, a cake mix, some frosting and some icecream. Birthday's are a big deal in our house, and we felt horrible that we almost forgot Maxy's. So, when I got home, V whipped up a cake for him, and after dinner we celebrated. He was very angry about having to wear a hat, but we distracted him with his very own bowl of birthday cake and icecream... He forgot about the hat. He kept it on for a good 20 minutes, until I took pity on him and took it off... Not before I took a bazillion pictures though. He is such a handsome feller. :lovestruc

Then, Josh was able to get our Wii working... Some of our setting were off for some reason, and we all played our favorite Mario Kart Wii. I just found out yesterday, while I was at work, that Disney is coming out with their own version of Skylanders, called Disney Infinity... We are super excited about it - we loved Skylanders - and having a Disney version would just be amazing! It has a release date of June 2013.

I didn't get into my sewing room at all yesterday, because I had to work. I plan to get in there today though, for a little while. I also have to run to town - and I am not sure which I am going to do first? I hope to have this bag completed today (tomorrow morning at the latest). :thumbsup2

I hope you all have a wonderful day today!

D~

Happy Birthday to Max.

If I don't win the auction of Vs ask if she might like to do a custom order for the same price of what the auction closes at :)

I can't wait to see the latest bag. I need to sew today too.

I hope V is on the upswing and feeling better today!

I hear ya on the ADRs and the website. I have been playing around with it here and there to see how the reservations are going for dining. Obviously I never get to the "end" to actually book anything, so I'm not sure if they are still having a lot of glitches. I do know I still cannot see all four reservations on the new site, but I can log into and view all my reservations and details by going back over to the old site (if you don't know how to get there, go to the new site, then scroll down to the bottom of the page where the site map listings are. Click on order customized maps under my disney experience and it takes you to the old site where you can view your reservations). It doesn't seem to allow you to make them there though...it bounces you back to the new site, but at least I can see my ressies and know they are there!

I would love to see your auction pages...can you PM me the links (or put them on the FB page)? Thanks! Oh, one last question...I have not subscribed to TP (I think I may have done TGM once...or maybe just thought about it...I can't remember). Do you feel it's worth it?

Ok...I know I am not D~...but if you liked TGM (back when it was updated routinely) you would LOVE easyWDW. Josh uses the same methodology as Mike, and is really, REALLY funny!

And it is FREE! I have used both sites...and for the past 3 trips, easyWDW exclusively....and he has been spot on!
