Welcome to the DISboards Belle is my Fav!

We'll do our best to help you along. The easiest way to figure out what everyone is talking about is just to read through different threads to get some good info/tips on DCL.

As far as door hangers go, I posted a link on page 23 post #340 of this thread. It's part of the Fish Extender Exchange game. The shirts that people are talking about is a website that will make personalized T-shirts that anyone can order. They are mainly purchased by larger groups that are cruising together to show their family name, group, etc.

We also have a cruisemate list going with people who are on this cruise. If you would like to be added to this list, just list who is in your group and one of the DISboarders will add you to the list. (Thanks to Amanuensis)

I'm trying to figure all this out and want to make it the best I possibly can. Is it too late to order the fish extenders? and where?

I just did a dummy booking for our cruise & looks like its sold out, well at least for kids that is. It came up with no bookings available when I had kids in the booking, but it did come up with some categories for 2 adults only. So, looks like it'll be a full sailing!

Sailing party...maybe you could call DCL and see if there is any hope of moving the 2 cabins closer together? Or get on a waiting list to do so as you just never know if someone cancels or moves themselves. Belle, my daughter is 8 too and she's a social butterfly. She just can't wait to get to the lab and meet other girls!

Sounds like a few of us are doing Randi's and Sea Park! Should be an awesome trip! I know I can't wait!

I passed on the idea to my daughter and she is excited about making the Fish Extenders. Please add us DF41 and DD8 in room 7610. Thanks everyone!

One more thing! IceSk8ersMom, was it you who ordered shirts from cafepress.com? I am thinking of doing the same (another DISer is working on a design for me :) ), and I am wondering if you have any advice or tips about ordering from there. Thanks!

The website is user friendly. We did not create a design. We used pictures. The t-shirts are fairly good quality and reasonable in price. Also, they are very cute.:thumbsup2

I am a disboard virgin! I just found this site and I am in need of some serious help aka step by step instructions. I am a single mom cruising with my 8 year old daughter and this is our first Disney cruise. She is so excited and I want to make this the best vacation ever for her. I am confused and need help! Door hangers? Shirts? What does everything mean. We are traveling with two other families that I'm sure are as confused as I.....any help out there

I know this is overwhelming. This is my fourth DCL cruise, and the boards can overwhelm me. I strongly suggest that you order the Passport Disney Cruise Travel Guide. You can order it online. That is my DCL bible. Also, like others have stated, you can order fish extenders on EBay (just type in fish extenders). We ordered t-shirts from cafepress. We ordered personalized t-shirts in honor of my parents' 40th wedding anniversary. The website is user friendly. It takes you through a step-by-step process in designing and ordering your t-shirt.

We're in Room 5520

Thanks DL DCA fans! Reading the navigators was such fun. Have a question though: When did the Stack change from 13 to 14? I remember last year that it was from 13 and up and kids within a month of 13 were typically allowed to go. My DD 12 will be 13 on August 22. Too bad for her, but I kinda prefer that she not hang out with the older kids.

It's good to know that there's a time change to deal with. I thought we were in the same time zone!

IceSka8rmom (sorry for the spelling?), nice to see that your DD found a Med friend. When did you sail? We were in the June 27-July 7 cruise. I bet my DD would be so thrilled to find an old Med friend.

I saw a ticker that says 26 days to go. It'll go fast!:dance3:

I can sympathize with your reunion problems. I organized a smaller group for an Alaska cruise in 2005 and didn't even TRY to get adjacent cabins, but I did want us seated together for dinner, so I typed up a list of our names, cabin #s and reservation #s and emailed it to my TA. When we got on the ship, I found out that they completely screwed up our dining so that we were all seated apart and even different dining times! Turned out it was my TA's error, she claimed to have faxed my dining request well in advance of the cruise to the cruise line's dining people requesting to have us all seated near each other, but she never followed up to make sure they received the fax, and Holland America claimed never to have recieved the faxed list. Nor did they seem interested in fixing the problem once we were onboard. I spent a day being upset and aggravated and then decided to just let it go and enjoy the rest of the cruise. BUT if I ever try to arrange another family reunion cruise I will not use a TA. I'll contact the cruise line directly.

I have a family reunion group of 35, ranging in age from 5 months to almost-87 (my grandmother), looking forward to this cruise! I'm the chief organizer and have been trying to keep my head above water planning all this, but I'm really looking forward to it.

We had two cabins in guarantee status because those family members found out late that they could come. I just got their stateroom assignments, and I am a little down because they are just about as far as possible from their families. For one single woman traveling alone, it's no big deal, but it is a big deal for my cousin and her husband and their 4 little kids (youngest is 5 months). They are split up on opposite ends of the ship on different decks. :( We requested that they be as close to each other as possible, but I guess nothing was available. I know that's a risk you take with guarantee, but I have to admit I was hoping for a little better. Oh well.

As for plans, a few of us are doing the DCL regatta sailing excursion in Cabo, a bunch are doing horseback riding with Randi's Happy Horses in Mazatlan, and a bunch are going to Sea Life Park in Puerto Vallarta (a few are doing the Pirate Sail and Snorkel). Another group is thinking of doing the Family Ranch Party in Mazatlan.

It's getting so close! :)

Yes, I am nervous about the dining assignments, too. The TA told me that DCL assured her we would all be seated close together, though. I hope so!

That's awful about your Alaskan cruise experience. I would have been really upset, too. I hope you had a fun trip despite that!

Our Alaska cruise was a blast. I even did a music video about it which you can view here:

Despite the problems, it was my favorite cruise experience so far.

I checked online yesterday and they had opened up some Palo reservations. I got a brunch for Friday and was able to move my dinner reservations from 9 to 7pm.

I'm printing out the Navigators now. THANK YOU DL DCA! I also was surprised about the Stack age change. My son turns 14 in September so I guess he can decide which group he wants to be with. (I did think 13 was a little young to be in the Stack with the older kids. )

We were on the July 18th Med Cruise. That was a trip of a lifetime.

My daughter is extremely disappointed in the Stack age change. :guilty:

We were on the Mexican Riviera Cruise in 2005, and as I recall the time change isn't that bad. An hour a day for a few days is much easier to adjust to. Adjusting to the time change when we went to Europe was a bit of a challenge.

I haven't told DD 12 about the Stack age change. I'm hoping she can meet enough people her age to keep her occupied.

DD5 with August 6 birthday is so excited about the cruise. I don't know what we'll have to do to get her out of the ship at the end of the cruise.

I'll have to check Palo, thanks for the tip!
