How about the Cadillac Lounge? is there anything going on there? Might be hard to find each other in Topsiders but that would be okay also....

Thanks for noticing that. We thought we had checked the Navigator for any conflicts...I guess we missed it! We could meet at 9:30 at the Promenade Lounge, but they may be setting up for the Playhouse Party, so we may be asked to move/leave. Topsiders is open for breakfast until 11:00, so that might work if we can find an area large enough to accomodate our group. We could meet somewhere outside, but it might be cold since we'll be on the sea. What do you guys think?:confused3

Scratch that - Cadillac Lounge is Adults Only. I guess that leaves Topsiders so we just have to figure out how we recognize each other so we can grab a table.

BabyFavorite: I am glad your family is feeling better. I am also feeling better. Just in time to be the Perfect Party Planner!

I finished packing today. So now I can focus all my attention on my parents' anniversary party. Tomorrow is the last day of summer school. :cool1:

Aren't minors allowed in the Cadillac Lounge during the day? If that is correct, then it is the perfect alternative to Promenade Lounge (Good idea Amanuensis). I would like to keep the time no earlier than 9:30 A.M. because I have an early spa appointment. I vote to keep it at 10:00 A.M.

This thread is really starting to grow. 50 pages :yay: We are getting closer, and we have 10 days left.

:scared1: Can you believe it we are almost there? I can hear her horn, smell the sea air, and taste that delicious drink of the day.

It is going to be a magical voyage for all of us. I cannot wait to meet all my new friends.

:grouphug:

According to the Navigators, Sessions (Cadillac Lounge) doesn't open until 5:00, so I don't know if we'd be allowed in. If we're going to meet at Topsiders, we can bring some signs or wear a certain color to try to identify our group. If we meet there, we can keep the 10:00 time. For the repeat cruisers, does anybody remember what the seating is like at the Preludes Bar near the Walt Disney Theatre?

If I remember correctly, Preludes seating is couches or a few chairs. Not a bad meeting place probably, but I think the bar is only actually open before events.

HTH.

I vote we meet 10 am at Topsiders. I can make a sign from my "Cruisin' La Vida Mickey" graphic and keep it visible somehow on the table. And maybe another that says "Disboards Group" - what do you all think?

That sounds great. Our vote is for 10:00 at Topsiders as well.

Does anybody know what time the cruise is supposed to get back to LA? I know I shouldn't be thinking about the end before it starts but we have a chance to go see the LA Angels vs New York Yankees that day but depends whether we are back in time!!

According to my confirmation email, the Magic arrives back in LA at 5:15 am Sunday morning, so I would not worry - we are going to that baseball game too!! (My husband and son are big Yankee fans).

If I recall, the game starts at 2 pm so you will have plenty of time to get to the stadium, which is in Anaheim so not too far from Long Beach.

Been away for a while. Are we going to have a DIS get together? Are we going to do the roving door decoration?

I will join you on the single digit dance.

Horse Camp! That sounds like fun. Today was my last day of summer school. As the last school bus drove away, I got a tear in my eye. Good luck with your cruise preparations. I hope it is smooth sailing.

Did you teach summer school? My DD(7) finished summer school today too. she took a class on bugs and critters. We called it "bug school". she absolutely LOVED it and was sad to see it end.

Horse Camp is really fun. Tiring with 16 girls ages 8-14, but still really fun. I love being able to show kids the amazing world of horses. and they get to do everything - ride, groom, tack, give baths, paint horses, clean tack (necessary but not a favorite activity), ride bareback, and a personal favorite - clean stalls! the last camp of the summer starts the Monday after we get back from the cruise. I'm hoping my cruise-induced relaxed state will last for a few days at least.

I think I saw that our kids are similar ages. maybe we'll see you on the cruise

We can do it!

:thumbsup2

All we need is faith, trust, and a little bit of pixie dust

I was reading other threads last night, and it sounds like interesting days at sea: fire on the Wonder, lights out on the Magic, and 400 people getting sick on the ship. Even though there has been some mishaps, I am dying to board the Magic. I cannot wait to get this vacation started.

Amanda is at DL, and she just called to tell me that she just purchased my parents' cake topper (Bride Minnie and Groom Mickey). She also reported that it is a wonderful day to be at the Happiest Place on Earth.

Rae is 13 ,and Nic is 15. Rae also has a friend from the Med cruise onbaord also (from Ireland). They all look forward to meeting new friends. I will let them know (the more the merrier and safer).

I was the summer school principal. It was my first admin job so I am happy to report no major incidents. :teacher:

The last time I went horseback riding was when the Magic went to Mexico in 05. It was fun, but I was not a fan. I was afraid that I would fall off the horse. Crazy. I know.

10am at Topsiders. We'll be there.

I started packing last night and finished up the FE gifts. WooHoo 'can't wait.:cheer2:

That's funny. The last time I was on a horse was when I, in anticipation of our upcoming Carnival cruise to Mexico (in 2006 I think it was), asked a friend about horseback riding lessons so that I could do Randi's Happy Horses in Mazatlan and not make a fool of myself. She hooked me up with a friend who would give me a lesson for free. Long story short, the first "lesson" the horse threw me and I landed on my shoulder and broke my collar bone. I was somewhat healed before the cruise but still sore.

I was told later that I need to learn HOW to fall off a horse.

Nope - not crazy! they're BIG animals! i've had my share of falls, but keep getting back on

My son Jack is 12 and my nephew Austin (14) is coming too. I'll let them know to look out for Rae, Nic and their Irish friend. How cool is that! to have met a friend on the med cruise and to be cruising together again. that's awesome!
