This time next week we will be on the Magic!

I'm glad that many of us will be attending the get together at Topsiders.

Just returned from a day full of errands. I think everybody in the La Habra area was at Target today. At this moment the party planning is under control. My house is a disaster...luggage in the living room and office and party supplies in the kitchen.

My DD cannot find some essentials for the cruise. She is presently tearing her room apart.

The weather in SoCal is perfect. The week's forecast is sunny and hot. Good vacation weather.

Tomorrow starts the work week. The nice thing is that there will be no students so I can get some work done in the morning, and I have meetings most afternoons. BUT I will only be working four days this week. Friday is banking, cooking, decorating, setting up, and working in a pedicure & a manicure.

When my DD was about your children's ages, she loved Legoland. Her fondest memory is getting her driver's license. I enjoyed the mini-lego cities. They were fascinating. Carlsbad is a beautiful city.
You will have a blast.

Okay, the work week has started, but I am in a total "cruise fog." The fog needs to lift so I can focus on work.

Last week I had a dreadful experience. In celebration of the end of summer school, we had a party. Since I was sick last week and I was handling food, I washed my hands frequently. In the rush to serve people, I noticed that my wedding ring was gone. MIA! I freaked.



We looked everywhere including every trash can on campus. But no luck



Before we gave up hope, my sister and I decided to go through the trash cans in the cafeteria one more time. And mixed in with the half-eaten chicken was my RING!

My beautiful diamond covered in chicken guts.

This was what happened...since I lost a few lbs., my ring is big. So while I dried my hands the ring must have slipped off, and I threw it away with the paper towel.

Needless to say, the ring is not going to Mexico with me. I will be the one wearing a fabulous faux diamond!

I appears that some of us are leaving sooner than others, so I wish you a safe journey.

OMG. What an experience. It's so absolutley great that you found it. What a total relief. I am trouble concetrating on anything other than the cruise too. I feel like I still have a ton of things left to do.

On the topic of Legoland, my kids age 5 and 6 absolutley love it too. DH even likes to go too because it is one of the only theme parks that never seems to be too crowded so we always have a nice time there. Have fun HeelMD.

Amanuensis: Some of our info has changed. We switched to main dinner seating and my husband has found some golfing partners. (He is meeting up with some buddies in Cabo for golf.)

We are going to Legoland on Thursday! We are meeting my sister and her family, plus some friends, for 3 days in San Diego before heading up to LA to join with the rest of our 35-person crew! I can't believe it's so close. And I stayed up half the night making door magnets instead of packing, lol, so I anticipate late nights tonight and tomorrow, too! We're almost there, though. Woo hoo!

5 More Days! I am getting very excited!

Yesterday, I finished all my household business that needed to be done before we left ( a fancy way of saying paid the bills). And yes, I have money left for cruise!

Last night I had trouble sleeping.
The awesome responsibility of taking somebody else's child out of the country kept me up.

HeelMD: I love the darling picture. What a precious moment.

I tried to create a signature with pictures, but the process exceeded my tech abilities.

Has anybody else read the other threads about the not so hot service on the Magic?

Well, I have had such fabulous experiences on my past DCL cruises. I cannot imagine it being that awful. So I stopped reading. I do not want to have a predetermined opinion about the service. I rather stick with my memories.

Some of us are leaving in the next few days, so I hope you are able to report (even if it is briefly) on you pre-cruise adventures.

Well, I am not only doing cruise planning but back-to-school planning as well. Kiddos start school THE DAY AFTER we get back. Yes you heard that right, there's not even a day between returning and starting school. So I have to have everything bought and ready before we go. When we scheduled the cruise about 16 months or so ago, school was still starting on a Wednesday so I thought we would have at least 2 days before school started. Now, in our school board's infinate wisdom we are starting on a Monday so we have no breathing room (or room for a delayed flight, DD16 has a perfect attendance in high school going into her sophomore year).

Cruise planning is coming a long. It has helped to keep a "todo" list on the computer/smart phone so that I can access it at any moment.

We are leaving Friday night, staying Friday and Saturday night at the DoubleTree in San Pedro. Hoping to still get a limo to take us there so that we can stop by the Chinese Theatre on the way from LAX to the hotel. Disney transportation is taking us back because of our early-ish departure.
