Attn: Vegas Fans and Experts

Hello Vegas Experts ... assuming a $200 total difference over five nights, would you stay at NYNY (higher) or Treasure Island (lower)? Our priorities are (1) interesting non-gambling things to look at and do (we gamble, but not big-time), (2) general safety, (3) good pool, (4) proximity to Bellagio, (5) pretty, in that order.

Treasure Island. It has recently been undergoing a big remodel and when we were there in Jan. it was very nice. (We stayed across the street at the Venetian.) We saw Mystere at TI. Wonderful show!!! There were some nice shops, a free tram to Mirage, and I think there pool would be nicer than NY. NYNY is very crowded and smoky imo. We walked through there, rode their coaster & left. Pirate show at TI is very cheesy.

I know you mentioned that you don't do much gambling, but I didn't care for the casino at New York New York. I had seen a deal on the TI website where you can get an upgrade, free breakfast...so that might be the thing to do. You can always walk from each casino to experience everything.

I personally pick NYNY. I've never stayed at TI although it's on my list. Both are at either end of the strip so traveling to stuff is about the same. TI seems so far down there while NYNY seems closer to the fun stuff. The pool at NYNY seemed ok.

If you want to shop, TI is the best. Right near the large mall and Caesars is very close the other direction. I love that mall I think it is called Fashion Show Mall. Has all the big name department stores. Stayed at TI a few years ago and it was very nice then can't imagine what they might have done with a re-hab everything was fine then.

Just adding another vote for TI. Lived in Vegas for 8 years (90-98) would definitely go with TI over NYNY

Have never stayed at NYNY, we stayed at TI for a friend's wedding. (They were married on the English Ship!) We enjoyed TI, and walked as far up as Bellagio/Paris area. I would stay there again in a heartbeat

I have been to NYNY more often, but enjoyed TI as well. It seems like they have more to do there. NYNY is often crowded and actually full of NY residents. It is an atmosphere to see though, quite cool inside. The pool didn't look all that impressive and i havn't seen TI's pool. BUT, i would say TI is the best pick for your criteria, especially with what other people are saying.

I would pick TI. I think the location is better. It's closer to Bellagio, Paris, Mirage and the Venetian.

Also, when we visited NYNY it was teeming with small children, presumably because of the large arcade and roller coaster.

Have you looked into Paris? It's a gorgeous hotel with wonderful restaurants and shopping, and right across the street from Bellagio. Many of their rooms overlook the fountain show. We've stayed there twice and both times only paid $89 a night. Try calling their 800 number directly, they often have the best prices.

Another vote for Treasure Island! It also has easy access to the Mirage next door. Gotta see Mstyere at TI, it was great!!

We were at TI last week, and i wouldn't reccomend it. They have removed the pirate theme, but haven't replaced it with anything else.....very blah. The new TI sirens show is like bad porno with clothes on. Plus the pool is closed for rennovations. We were able to swim at Mirage ( which is a place i do reccomend ).
NYNY has a fab location !
