Attire for TS restaurants

A post on another board about wearing heels made me think about this - how do most people dress for their TS meals? I'm not talking Victoria & Albert's, but in general. I think I would feel ok going to someplace like Chef Mickey's in my sneakers and touring attire, but is this acceptable for Le Cellier or Kona? Sorry - 1st timer, here!

Only the signature restaurants have a dress code. And the code is pretty casual anyway, and not always enforced. None of the places you mentioned have a dress code.

Yes one should certainly be attired when at a TS.
Anything in the parks expects park attire, even signatures. Outside the parks only signatures expect any degree of dress, and their standards are pretty lax. However, dressing up is part of the signature experience for many, and many of us who don't enjoy seeing the dressed up folk.

You will feel fine in park clothes at either of those places.

When we ate at LeCellier last time there were plenty of people in park clothes. Infact I don't remember seeing anyone dressed up.

Kona will be the same way.

It depends on what kind. I'm pretty sure the code says no flip flops, but you will often see women in the dressy kind of flip flops since they are becoming so prevalent as footwear. So the kind you would wear to the pool - no. Fancy ones - I'm thinking black with little jewels type - won't be an issue.

For guys, I'm going with an across the board no.

edited: when I pulled up the code for my later post, it doesn't mention flip-flops or footwear at all, I had thought that it did.

We usually dress up a little if we're going to a hotel for dinner. Ohana and Cali Grill are the main ones.

Just back after five days and would say that almost anything goes at even Signature restaurants. We would have preferred to have been a bit more dressed for some of our meals (Jiko, especially) but it just didn't make sense given our touring plans. And we were not made to feel out of place.

Did see people quite dressed up at Citrico's (the man at the next table had a jacket and tie) but many who weren't. This was the one place where we were a bit dressier because we'd had time to go back to our room.

Would a nice top and nice jeans and sneakers work at Sign. restaurant. I hate to have to carry around a change of shoes.

For the Signature Dining Restaurants, a "Business Casual" dress code is in effect:

Men - Dress pants, jeans or dress shorts and a T-shirt or long sleeve shirt with collar is required. (Jackets optional.)

Women - Jeans, skirts or dress shorts and blouse, sweater or dress is required.

NOT PERMITTED: Tank tops, swim suits or swim cover ups, hats for gentlemen, cut offs or clothing with rips/tears are not allowed. T-shirts with offensive language/graphics will also not be permitted.

The Signature Restaurants are:

Artist Point, Bistro de Paris, California Grill, Citrico's, Citrico's Chef's Domaine, Flying Fish, Fulton's Crab House, Il Mulino, Jiko's, Narcoossee's, Portobello Yacht Club, Shula's, Todd English's bluezoo, Wolfgang Puck Dining Room and Yachtsmen Steakhouse.

As long as it not a signature, you can get away with almost anything. It's perfectly acceptable to wear your sneakers and touring attire at Le Cellier and Kona. These restaurants are for people IN a park touring, or just getting out of park - so if you can wear it in the park, you can wear it in the restaurant.

I wore sneakers, capris and a top/sweater combo at Jiko and no one said a thing. As my teen daughter said, once you sit down no one sees your shoes!

As noted by Vicki_c, the dress code makes no mention of footwear whatsoever. Sneakers are fine. As are flip-flops. Unless they are those 99 cent rubber pool style things, which then MIGHT fall under the swimwear prohibition.

And in line with what ccrosner said, even the greeters at the podium can't see your feet!!

Thanks so much for your replies. I have a problem with my left foot so it is difficult to wear a dress shoe. At home I wear a dress shoe from the car to the restaurant, thats it. We are going to AP, CG & Jiko. I will be wearing a sweater and blouse combo and a veleteen pair of slacks some how the sneakers don't look awful and I am at WDW. I loke to walk around before dinner and after. We went to GFC and it was super casual & WCC again super casual. I am looking forward the the up coming restaurants, again thanks for your input.
