Attire at Jiko?

Is it considered ok to go to Jiko in the shorts you wore to the parks that day, or do you need to wear business casual attire? My parents would like to go on their trip next year, but are hesitating because they don't want to go back to the hotel to change after visiting AK. Thanks!

Dress code is no tank tops or hats on men, no bathing suits, no torn clothing and nothing with vulgar graphics. Anything else is accepted.

They wont turn you away for showing up in shorts but they may not feel comfortable doing so. We've dined there several times and the majority of people don't wear shorts, they dress a little nicer.

"For the Signature Dining Restaurants, a "Business Casual" dress code is in effect: Men - Dress pants, jeans or dress shorts and a T-shirt or long sleeve shirt with collar is required. (Jackets optional.) Women - Jeans, skirts or dress shorts and blouse, sweater or dress is required."

What Castillo Mom reports is what they SUGGEST--it is not required. If you don't wear what is suggested, just don't wear what is actually prohibited in the restaurant--the list that Pakey has given.
Shorts are perfectly fine and you will see all kinds of shorts other than the suggested "dress shorts".

We've been there three times and my husband wore shorts each time. My son wore short onces and clam dippers another time. I never thought they were underdressed. The outfits were nicer than park outfits. I wore a fun summer dress each time, just to dress up. I did not find people TOO dressed up during any of our visits.

The suggested attire is resort casual, not business causal. I could never get away with capri pants or dress shorts at work.
