For what it's worth, American and Southwest both say they use Hepa filters that change the air every 2 to 4 minutes. Southwest says they use hospital grade filters. At least they're actually cleaning the planes now???

I received an email from Southwest this morning which included the following info that should make people want to book the first flight of the day:
“We want you to feel confident when traveling with Southwest Airlines. As a result, we have enhanced some of our cleaning procedures in the interest of our Customers' and Employees' health and safety.
Aircraft Cleaning: We spend between 6-7 hours cleaning each aircraft every night, and, as of March 4, 2020, we have enhanced our overnight cleaning procedures. Typically, we use an EPA approved, hospital-grade disinfectant in the lavatories and an interior cleaner in the cabin. Now, we are expanding the use of the hospital-grade disinfectant throughout the aircraft, and it will be used in the cabin, on elements in the flight deck, and in the lavatory. This goes beyond the standard CDC guidelines.
Also, we equip each of our aircraft with a HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) filter, which filters out recirculated air onboard each plane to remove airborne particles. HEPA filters are also used in hospitals to provide patients with clean air.

I believe that we may soon see Disney close it's U.S. Parks. Rumor that Coachella is announcing a cancellation tomorrow. That's going to open the floodgates, and Amusement Parks like Disneyland, that cater to 10's of Thousands each day, will follow suit. The way things are progressing, I could see it happening within the next couple of weeks.

Sooooo I got this email too, and flew to DC this morning on Southwest. My flight had a stop but no plane change in Chicago. I and two other passengers stayed in our seats while every else disembarked and the new passengers came on so I saw the between flight cleaning.They picked up a few pieces of trash and one flight attendant walked down the aisle with lysol and did a 2 second burst into each row....that was it. She even told me it was Lysol with lavender. I have to say after the first flight of the day, their cleaning leaves much to be desired.

Noooooo!!! I really hope they don’t close. We’ve been planning this trip for a year. My trip is March 23-27. I’ve been scared they are going to close. I’m really hoping they don’t, I honestly think everyone’s over reacting.

Coachella and other music festivals are completely different than amusement parks. These festivals already have issues with cleanliness and hygiene amongst festival-goers. It’s not a stretch to see why festivals where many of the patrons are essentially living together and/or spending lots of time together in close spaces, and that rely on porta potties for waste removal and use hand washing stations that have to be manually pumped to get the water to flow (and always seem to run out of soap by the fourth hour and water by the sixth hour on day 1) would cancel their events.

Disney has way more options at their fingertips to limit the spread of Coronavirus. They could drastically lower the amount of people allowed in the parks each day, cut park hours to allow more time for and call in all hands-on-deck for cleaning, they could space people out at restaurants, they can even go so far as checking guest temperatures. The last one would be pretty extreme, but I am willing to bet that Disney will not close down until they are forced to close down. Or when the measures they have to take to prevent Coronavirus from spreading in the parks outweigh any profits they would make.

My sister’s MIL is a flight attendant for Southwest. She says ALWAYS take the first flight out. It’s the only one that’s actually clean.

Disneyland Paris had a cast member test positive. I think eventually all the parks will close for at least a 2 week period. We have had to cancel trips in the past, usually due to health reasons. It really hurts at the time, but before you know it, you are there again! For anyone having to cancel trips, keep your chin up! And your ears ready to go!

I soooo wish I was wrong. I have a Flex Pass that's good through May, so who knows what they would do in regards to AP's. I assume they'll have to extend them. But I fear it's only a matter of time now that other major entertainment options are being postponed/cancelled.

Disney will do everything it can to not close. They will lose way too much money to close unless it’s 100% necessary.

They won't be forced to do anything. He will have to admit the US response has been substandard for that to happen.

We’ll see. I kept thinking there was no way they’ll close, but now I don’t know. We are tying to decide what to do about our trip the first week of April. We have other things besides DL planned and I don’t want to fly across the country and have everything closed.

My H and I talked tonight and decided we will go if things seem to be staying steady and not getting worse in Southern California. If more places start closing and/or cases seem to be rapidly increasing in the area, we will save our flights for another time. We will probably just drive somewhere. I’ve already warned the kids DL might not be happening right now, just in case.

I hope if they close the parks, they extend AP’s.... obviously this virus is serious, and I don’t mean to sound like an “entitled American” as someone on the WDW boards said when they had the discussion a few weeks ago, but with as much money as Disneyland charges for those passes, they should extend them.

We just had our first case in San Diego not related to someone evacuated and quarantined on a cruise ship. A woman in her 50s, foreign travel. Hope that overseas trip was worth it. I’m glad I took my girls last week in case it escalates here quickly.

They cancelled the BNP Paribas tennis tournament in Palm Springs last night. That is a nearly 2 week event that brings in 450, 000 people. They had a confirmed case in that area yesterday. It is so sad as we were set to attend it this weekend, and then me and DD12 were going to DLR next week. We cancelled the BNP part of the trip. Still deciding about the DLR part, but leaning towards cancelling. I spoke to DL travel tonight and they said they have not liberalized the cancellation policy as of tonight, so I have until Wednesday to decide to cancel without losing my DLH deposit.

So today was more crowded that I imagined it would be!! Currently riding Small World. The last ride I needed to ride to do every ride that was operational today. What a workout!!
