Anyone have any opinions on which is better, the Atlantis sub expedition in Grand Cayman or Cozumel? Or would it be just as enjoyable to do one of the semi-subs in Grand Cayman? I am trying to decide which would be the best option for us. Our DS will be almost 4 (two weeks short) at the time and I'm not sure that they will allow him to do the Atlantis subs since you are supposed to be 4 yrs. Any input on any of these excursions would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

Having not done this before, ours got cancelled in Jan on RCCL due to rough water, but going on what my Mother said, she did not like the sub in Cozumel. She was on a Carnival cruise but she said they just kept putting more and more people on and you felt like a pea in a pod! She went in the afternoon and there weren't hardly any fish to be seen only the diver. She said she would never do this one again.

No Fish ??? That would never have occurred to me! I guess it makes sense though that they would be more active during some times of the day just like other animal attractions. Thanks Patches for your info.

We did the semi-sub in Cozumel and really liked it. We saw quite a few fish (they take you out to the coral reef.) We also saw several divers and snorkelers.

I wanted to do the sub in Grand Cayman but my son got sick on the tender over so we had to turn around and head back to the ship. Sorry I can't offer advice on that one.

As for your son being almost 4, you can always ask if he is close enough to go on the excursion. I know he can do the semi-sub excursion as there were a couple of very young children on it with us.

my family did the one in Grand Cayman. We booked on our own, so we saved some money, and they had a lot more times to choose from. It was also a quick walk from where we tendered and is easy to get on your own to there. In Cozumel, I believe you might have to take a taxi, or walk a ways to get to the location there, but i could be wrong on this.
