Someone told me that you can go over to Atlantis and use the beach for free. Is this true.

It was my understanding that you had to be booked in a room. Either at the Atlantis or a nearby neighbor hotel...A comfort Inn perhaps?
Otherwise NOTHING is FREE @ Atlantis.

I hope someone posts their experience with booking a room?

When we were there we went on the DCL excursion to Atlantis. They had us wear wrist bands that specified that we were on an excursion we were not allowed to use the beach (and it looked fun!). I think you definitely have to get a day room or work it out. It seems to me that if you went there planning to use the beach you could get kicked out.... Anyone else know about this...?

I was just there in May (sailed on Carnival this time) and we went to Atlantis and were restricted to certain areas because we didn't have a wrist band.

We were there last week. Its the "Atlantis Beach Day" excursion. You receive a wristband for access to the beach (you are given a towel & beach chair), access to the casino, all 3 aquariums & the grounds (including the shopping mall). You also get a lunch coupon to use at one of the fast-food outlets there. You do not have access to the pool or slides or sit-down restaurants. We had a blast! We didn't feel left out of anything. The day goes by fast!!

a tip i read on allearsnet said
you can book a room at the comfort suites for the day and
depending on size of party, spend less than the disney beach
tour of atlantis, and get the use of the entire resort pools and all.

I looked into this and it was $184 for the day we will be there.
and we are thinking of doing this.

Even though it is going out of your way, this is the way to go, since you can have at least 4 people depending on the size room you rent for the night, or should I say day?
After you check in, you walk over to Atlantis, which is a short block or so, and go to the outside poolhouse, where you show your credentials, and get your wristband for the day. You have
access to everything there, which is really nice, to sit on the beach undisturbed, except for the constant badgering to braid your hair.:hyper:
I have to say, it was paradise, the beach and the water are breathtaking, and I really dig the coarse white sand. It is so very different than Jersey sand.::yes::
If you love fish and chips, try the fish at Pisces, an outside stand, it is to die for. Make sure you tour everything there is to see, it is like a palace of marble, unbelievable. :teeth:
I just wish I was one of the lucky ones that could afford a week there, so you get to be a princess for one day!:wave2:
