We were considering booking a room at either Atlantis or Comfort Suites so that we can use the pool/beach/facilities at the Atlantis? Do we still need to book a Disney excursion to get there? Can we get there on our own? If so how and how much? Has anyone else booked at either resort? If so, was it worth it? THANKS!

Cleo41,

You can take a taxi right off the ship. They are right off the dock in line waiting for cruisers. The hotels are not far at all from the dock. It took less than 15 minutes and wasn't expensive in a taxi although I can't remember exactly how much. We booked at the Atlantis in October 2001 (shortly after 9/11). We booked the cheapest room and got upgraded to the towers with an ocean view because they had everything else closed but the tower buildings because of the travel terrorism scare. To me it was well worth it. It's not cheap even at the Comfort Suites but it's absolutely gorgeous and the water slides, pools, aquariums and beaches are so worth it. It's like being at a luxury water park. I don't know your kids ages but there are some height restrictions on some of the slides. Check out www.atlantis.com for more information. We were able to check out towels at the same place we got our wristbands outside near the slides. Compared to the other shore excursions it just doesn't compare. It was the highlight of our trip. We had the late seating so we got showered at the hotel and were ready to dress for dinner when we got back to the ship. It was very convenient. Taxi's are usually around the hotels to take you back to the port. If not, ask the front desk or bell captain to get a cab for you. Have FUN!! I'd be happy to answer any other questions.

We just got back late last night from our 7 night Magic cruise...and happend to do the Atlantis thing. :D Since we were suppose to be doing the Western cruise...we hadn't pre-booked are arranged anything for Nassau. Once we were there...there are taxi's all over just waiting...it was around $4pp plus $1-2 toll to get to paridise island. We happened to stumble across a "taxi limo" who offered to give us the ride and quick info on what to do on the island for only $21..($5pp+$1 toll fee)...I thought it was well worth the extra dollar per person to have our own limo taxi....the other taxi's are more like suttle vans...which take as many people as they can. The limo-taxi man also gave us his cell number to call for return pickup...If you would like I'll give you his number so you can pre arrange your transportation with him. Very nice man, clean car...but it did have a strong incense odor to it. Let me know and when I unpack his card I'll post the number if you would like.

Oh by the way the day room at Atlantis was WELL WORTH IT:D

I found his number...I PM'd it to you...but here it is again.
