I have not heard of any one ever going to the Atlantic Dance Hall. If you have been, tell me all about it. Do many people go? Is it best on a weekend night? What type of music?

TIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:yay:

It's been a couple months since I was over that way, but every time I've gone in, the place has been dead--literally no more than half a dozen guests, on nights when Jelly Rolls (right across the way) is standing room only. They didn't even bother checking IDs at the door. As an FYI, last time I went by there it was closed certain nights of the week, possibly Sunday/Monday.

Music is standard Top 40 dance, like you'd here in Motion at PI. When Atlantic Dance Hall first opened, they played "swing" music, trying to tap into what was the hot fad at the time, but that lasted a few months at most.

I've never seen more than 5-10 people in there.
It's a ghost town and all it needs is the tumbleweeds:lmao:
Go to Jellyrolls! It's a lot of fun:thumbsup2

One has to wonder what's going on in there... Disney's not stupid. That's PRIME real estate and could be a major draw if something cool were to be put in...

I've seen it used quite a bit for wedding receptions (Eddie & Brenda's for one) and also for Disney CM meetings/receptions, but that's about it.

Give me Jellyrolls anyday!! :goodvibes

If you have a big group, the dance hall is fantastic! I went with about 10-15 people, and it was really awesome. it was like we had our own personal club. there were probably about 20 other people there - i'm going to go ahead and say conventionears.. mostly dressed in business attire and such, drinking at the bar.

Yes, this place is a major waste of space. I have been twice in the last year and alway's ended up heading over to Jellyrolls. Susan

That was such a beautiful wedding!
The pictures came out great:thumbsup2

When I was over by there in Dec they had latin music going... may depend on what day of the week it is. Sadly JRs was closed (rumor was a fight happened and needed some rehab per a CM)

We are having our wedding reception at ADH this coming November - it will be on a Monday afternoon.

Jellyrolls was closed to put in a new floor and make some
updates. Why would they close a bar for a month for a fight?
The CM was delusional and unprofessional if they said that:headache:
Anyways, the bar looks great now, the new floor makes the
music sound even better, and I haven't noticed the smoke smell
since they reopened:thumbsup2

I was there the day after the last night it was open with a group of girls and the CM that was serving us dinner at the Big River something there on the Boardwalk said it... he had worked night before outside... dunno.. just what he said. Maybe he thought he was being cute... maybe it was just coincidence...

Am glad to hear about not smelling the smoke! Now if the 2 people in my group would just quit as they said they would.... lol

I went back in 2000 when it was a swing club and it was a lot of fun. People came dressed up in "swing fashion" and were throwing the girls in the air and everything! I just watched mostly but it was really cool! I wish they would do that again or at least have one night where it's swing music. They could give free lessons before hand or something.
