Hi gang.........next thursday (a week from today, Yikes!) I am having my wisdom teeth taken out. i wanted to know if anyone had any suggestions on things to eat after the surgery since my mouth will be sore for a little while and i won't be feeling that well to get sufficient exercise?? I hope everyone is having a wonderful day

Some suggestions:

Protein shakes
scrambled eggs
vegetable/beef soup (no noodles)
mashed cauliflower w/cream cheese (yummy!)
mashed squash w/butter and a little Splenda

I'm sure you could have a piece of DeLite or Atkins (or other kind) chocolate bar! Just put a little piece in your mouth and let it melt! :) :)

Good luck with your wisdom teeth! You will feel back to normal in just a couple of days!

Before you go in...check out some lo carb soup recipes...I have a great ham/asparagus....you can blend it to make it creamy, or leave a few hunks in it.

Soup! Soup is great.

Also, I like Keto shakes. They taste somewhat better than the Atkins shakes and they have protein. You'll need the protein to heal. If you like the Atkins Breakfast bars, the Cinnamon Bun ones are soft. Make soft boiled eggs or scrambled eggs, too.

Best wishes!
Adele

thanks everyone..........lots of those suggestions I haven't tried yet so they will be good to try for after the operation and to just have on atkins all the time. I appreciate the suggestions so much. I didn't wanna blow my diet at all you know. i've been working so hard to stay on the diet and lose the weight ya know. So thanks again. Any other suggestions are welcome.

I will definetly keep everyone posted about the surgery!!!

there is a great chicken soup recipe in the atkins book that I love and you could leave the chicken chunks out or leave them very tiny.

Also, I like the idea of 'shakes', we always add soy powder to our shakes/smoothies for a protein boost. adds no taste and only thickens the mix slightly.

Good Luck,

Sugar free jello...most of them have no carbs, but be sure to read the box first.

If a local store carries the Atkins Advantage "ice cream", get some of that. Also, sugar-free popsicles.

DH also liked the chicken soup recipe from the atkins book.

I like the advant EAS brand chocolate fudge protein shakes, they sell them 4 to a pack for about $5.60ish at SuperWalmart. I take the shake + 6 or 7 cubes of ice + some heavy cream & blend it in the blender for a yummy "chocolate milk shake". They are actually quite filling, I make them when I get home from work & I find my self eating less for dinner. Each shake has about 2 or 3 net carbs + the carbs for how ever much heavy cream you add.

I am not doing Atkin's, but have been watching my carb in take a little better than I used to. I just wanted to say, I love the mashed cauliflower instead of potatoes! The texture really keeps me satisfied!

wow........thanks everyone. with all the suggestions i am sure to do very well staying on my diet after they take my wisdom teeth out. Thanks so much. It also gives me some new ideas of foods to eat all the time on Atkins. Thanks again, you are all so great!

Have A Disney Day!!!!!:smooth:
