I was hoping to get one last year in a bikini, but I am having second thoughts. Is 43 too old for a bikini?

never too old for one - as long as you are comfortable in it - who cares what everyone else thinks?

Hey, if ya got it, flaunt it! Wear it as long as you can!

There is NO age limit! Go for it!!

I don't think there's any set age. It really depends on how you look and feel in it. I've seen women in their 50's who've been able to wear one and women in their 20's who shouldn't be wearing one IMHO.

I think it depends on the individual, the bikini, and the activity - not on the person's age.

My age! But if I could I would that's for sure! GO FOR IT!

No age limit in my opinion BUT you should look good in it. Don't wear a bikini if you are how do I say..."weight challenged". :hyper:

Whatever you are comfortable in is what you should wear. Who cares what anyone else thinks. :happy2:

Can I add a small question to this thread, Tea Please? What is everyone's definition of having the "right" body to wear one? Is it dependent on age, size, hideous scars that need covering?

I also do not think of it as an age thing. Many woman look fabulous at 40+. Take a look at Demi Moore, would anyone dare say she's too old for a bikini? I think not.

If that's too old, I'm in big trouble--still wearing my two piece and I'm older than that! I don't call it a bikini anymore because I have those aforereferenced "hideous scars" from several abdominal surgeries--I wear the more full coverage (just below naval) bottoms, but my husband calls it a bikini. In fact, it's he who insists that they look best on me! Gotta' love a man like that! ::yes::

While this obviously doesn't show much, it's proof of the existence! :DTess, at about age 43, with her then young kids!

Honestly, I think it has to do with YOUR (the general you) comfort level. My sister and I are the same size, but I have a bigger butt and chunkier thighs. She hates bikinis, I love them. I always buy a bottom that covers my rear, though - a skimpier bottom would make me uncomfortable and I wouldn't wear it. Age, size and scars don't matter to me.

HOWEVER, if you plan on diving into a pool, going down the speed slides at water parks or being dragged behind a boat in a tube, I don't recommend a bikini. :o

You're never too old, but you can be too out of shape. Anyone honest with themselves knows where to draw the line. Me....BC (before children) I wore a cute little 2-piece. NOW...not on your life!! And I'm only 30. But I haven't been able to reclaim that pre-kid body yet, so I'll keep much of it covered, for my comfort and that of the beach-going public ;) I know several older women (40's and up) who look good in them. Is their body a temple of youth or monument to plastic surgery? NO....they've just kept themselves up better than I have. Their bodies are age-appropriate, healthy, and in shape. I think that's the criteria.

OT--TESS
Sorry to go OT, but I must know...where did you get that awesome bouncing Mouse in your siggie??? Too cute!!

Yup! That line was drawn about 10 years ago for me.

Is this the voice of experience?? ;) Don't worry, I've already flashed the Jersey shore, so I'll be darned careful!! ::yes::

Experience on both sides, as both someone who has nearly lost her top on the tube and diving in, plus as a lifeguard watching you bikini wearers on the speed slides. ;)

Jolie, LOL! That sounds like a gooooooooood story! :)
