About age 6 but only because he has a skin problem that is worse in water. We have to limit the length of the showers for same reason. I think that kid could spend all day in the tub if we let him.
As a newborn, DS used to scream his head off in the tub. No matter what I did to make him happier, he screamed and screamed.
Finally, I couldn't take it anymore. One evening when DH was in the shower, I handed baby over to him, and said, "Take this, and return it when it's clean."
DS loved it!! He's showered ever since, and only returned to baths when he had the chicken pox. (He still talks about that oatmeal in his bath!)
DS started with showers at age 5. He's almost 9 now and
back to baths. I don't know why but I think it has something
to do with languishing in the tub; he loves laying around until
the water is cold.
My daughter is 4 and still hates showers....she will let me wash her hair in the sink but wont take a shower. When she gets in the tub its a 1 1/2-2 hour process....After about each 30 minutes I let half the water out and replace it with hot water so she doesn't have to sit there in cold water...sometimes we take a bath together and other times I sit there and read the paper or crochet.
we started giving our kids showers when they were babies. We have a hand held shower head and I would spray them off when I changed their diapers and it just kind of went from there. Now everyone takes showers expect my DD who is 7 still likes a bath some nights.
Well since we only have a shower my kids are forced to shower. However, it wasn´t until they were about 6 that they could do it by themselves (wash hair etc.) They still prefer a bath, anytime they have the opportunity, but don´t we all.......???
I'd say 6 yrs old for DD
but she still enjoys soaking in the tub sometimes
I still have to help her wash her hair though
she has really long hair and she hasn't mastered washing that yet
Isabella is 5 3/4 (just ask her, she'll be sure you know about the 3/4ths). Her bathtime is my ONLY quiet time each evening. She likes the tub as full as she can get it with really warm water. She floats around on my old neck support pillow from an airline and plays with various toys and squeaky things. She can stay in an hour some evenings. I pop in and out and help her wash up at the end but those precious quiet minutes are heaven especially some days, this is a little girl who NEVER stops chatting. I'm not complaining, believe me, but I hope she continues to take baths for a long while yet.
