My wife and I (30, and 31 respectively) will be doing an adults only no kids trip August 7-13. She has never been to USA I went 15 years ago, we will skip all shows and kid stuff since we will see that stuff when the kids are with us. So what rides and attraction do you suggest? I have heard that it should take us at the most a day and a half to visit both parks. We will be staying on WDW property but we will have a rental car the whole time. Arriving on Sunday leaving on Saturday so which days of the week would you also suggest?

Thanks for all of your help

A day and a half? That's really rushing it.

I'd plan for a full day at each park.

At Universal: Terminator, Shrek (yeah I know it's a considered a kid movie but it is really good), Back to the Future, Men in Black, Jaws, and Revenge of the Mummy. If time, you can add in Earthquake and Twister. Plan on hitting Mummy and Men in Black more than once. The only "must see" show in my opinion is Horror Makeup Show. Fear factor Live is also pretty good if you like that type of show. For a sitdown meal, I'd suggest Finnegans, Lombard's, or for a quick/cheap meal Louie's.

At Islands of Adventure:
Hulk, Dr. Doom (if you like that kind of ride), Spiderman, Dudley, Popeye (you will get wet on those two rides), Jurassic Park River Adventure, Dueling Dragons, and Poiseden. Plan on riding Hulk and Spiderman more than once and doing both Fire and Ice on Dueling Dragons. Cat in the Hat is cute even for adults. Shows: Sinbad if time. For a nice sitdown meal, I'd recommend Mythos. For a cheaper or quicker meal, then I'd choose Enchanted Oak Tavern.

If you decide to eat at Citywalk: Emerils (expensive but nice), Margaritaville (lots of fun), Pastamore's (Italian), or Hard Rock Cafe.

If you just want to hit the highlights you can do both in a day. Be at US when the gates open and go straight to The Mummy, you could do it twice, there won't be a line. Go do Jaws and then walk around to MIB, I would skip Back to the Future, unless it is a walk on it is not worth the wait. You could do Terminator but if it is something your kids will like, it can wait. I agree Horror Makeup is good but my grandkids loved it so you may want to save that for when the kids are with you.

Head over to IOA, Spiderman is a must so get an express pass if the lines are long. Hulk if you like that type of rollercoaster, Dr. Doom is like the TOT without all the creepy stuff. I would skip the wet rides, unless you really like getting soaked, go on to Jurassic Park River Ride and then head over to Dueling Dragons, get an express and have a late lunch or and early dinner till it is time to ride.

I think these are the must sees, if the parks are not crowed you will be able to do more. But if you are planning to go with the kids anytime soon I would save the shows and Cat in the Hat, Shrek until then. The first time on these rides is always the best and you may want to share the surprises with your kids.

I would suggest you go on Tuesday, or Monday. We were just there and Monday and Tuesday were the least crowed days.
