At this rate, I'll end up in the Presidential Suite at GF!!

So I normally do not have this problem because financially we have only been able to budget Value resorts. When we went in 04, we brought a babysitter with us, and paid her way for everything so we opted for a value resort to save money. Then last year, my boys begged and begged for us to bring my husband's parents. They do not have the financial ability to fit in a WDW trip, so we treated them and opted for a value resort.

NOW, when we go in 2008, we have a little more flexibility. After reviewing Buzz's site, I was set...CSR was it. Perfect for our family. But then, we talked with a teenager who is a close friend with our family and we *may* be bringing her. SO, of course we need more room. I am now thinking Poly if she comes with us. But then if we can afford to stay at Poly if she comes, then we should stay there if she doesn't come. Oh but then if you open up the Deluxe option, then I have to look at ALL of them...but oh how do you decide???

Ok, sorry...went off on a tangent there...SOOO MANY OPTIONS! How to pick!!!!:confused3

You did NOT go off on a tangent, this is exactly what I do..I start one place, then move up a little....ok, how about one more step, maybe a nicer room..well, ok, now how about a standard room at a nicer resort...etc, etc, etc,...I thought the best room at the GF would be where I absolutely had to stop, now someone is throwing in the DVC...:confused3

But if that happened, what would I do with all this time I spend obsessing and changing and calling and changing, etc..I might have to do some HOUSEWORK!!

It's funny how some of your DH's think you're nuts for making all these changes..Mine hasn't a clue..He just sits back in the car and when we get there he goes...ok...has no idea what I have gone through..it's just (one of ) my dirty little secrets.;)

:lmao: :rotfl: Soooo glad to know I'm not alone in bothering the CMs in CRO every other week!!
So far this trip, I've gone from AKL to the Poly to the GF! Seems like we're settled, but ya never can tell!
And...I'm really sorry to know that they can tell when we called last!! That really makes us look like "crazies"!

Right now, I haven't asked for a specific room, other than the CHEAPEST!! I am pushing it with the AKL, but since we are there for a week, I wanted to enjoy the resort some, too. Do you have a standard room suggestion? I will definitely "hint, hint" at check-in if they happen to have one of those complimentary upgrades I hear about...but for now I am just going to take a breath....

Alright going to stir the pot a bit here. AKL has pool view rooms, when we go in Sept its only $10/night more than a standard view room. If its the same difference, can you squeeze $70 from somewhere else in the budget? At least you'll know what view you'll have and not be praying for an upgrade.

To all my posters: This has got to be the most entertaining thready I've read, thank you all!

We booked WL and changed to AKL. Our resort is set, dates are the one thing that could still change. I'm not in your league, but I "admire" you! :thumbsup2

Count me in for making changes!
We started out with one night at POR before our cruise, now we are at BC. Post cruise WAS CS for two nights and then WL standard room for last two nights. NOW it is BCV and WL VP suite. SHHHH my dh doesn't know the last 2 places and I want to keep it that way!:thumbsup2
Of course when the codes come out I may change something again!!!

Yep, $70 is in the budget, I didn't even think of anything other than going up to Savannah, which I am sure will be way too high. I can actually afford Savannah, but the little voice inside me says..."reel it in baby, remember you started out at PC for $65/night!"...I have been asking about Savannah, but none available at AAA discount, so I don't even know how much more it would be. I tried this a.m. for WL again..I am making it a point now to just keep calling them until I get what I want. I don't like to be said, "NO" to..:rotfl:

I don't work outside the home, SAHM, but I keep a "vacation account" for Disney, which pretty much amounts to embezzling money from the paycheck and here and there...(rebates, change, I pay myself $20 to cut the grass...;) ) Then I can justify an expensive vacation, but not TOO expensive..there's always a chance DH might see a bill or statement....Oh, the things I go through..:rotfl2:

I hear you girl!! We started at POP last May. Then a month ago, I said moderate! So tried to get CSR, but not FL resi rate. So we went with POR. Yesterday, CSR finally opened up so I switched again. Keep in mind, we check in this Sat! haha. My DH thinks I am nutty.

Even worse... I now tell the CRO that I "already know what they are going to ask me" when verifying my personal information. Then I proceed to speed through all my information. Always gets a good laugh! Name, address, phone and confirming email is correct! :lmao:

So CSR it is, unless that lovely Dream Team taps me on the shoulders for a Castle suite stay! Yeah right! :cloud9:

Uh oh... I'm having those thoughts about where to stay again. I think I'm going to call and switch us over to AKL.

Maybe I can ward off the thoughts... stay tuned.

LoL, Geez I thought I was the only one who does this. Last Nov started at POFQ, changed to POR when code came out, then decided to switch to a 4 day at the poly and 3 day DCL cruise.

This year for our November trip started again at POFQ, code came out switched to CBR had second thought about that and then switched to GF with a code. My DH doesn't mind all the switches, but he always scratches his head as to how is upgrading with codes saving him money, its not really saving him money, but I just cannot pass up these great code rates and he gets a bigger bed :) , wife is happy all is good.

Another little obessive resort thing I do is to keep checking almost daily whats available at all of the resorts for the dates that I am going. Just in case something better has opened up, even though I have made my final choice of resort, or so I thought. lol Does anyone else do this?

OK, I just have to say you all have made me smile today! ;) Thank you! I have finally found where I belong.

For our upcoming trip I have changed the dates 4 times, talked another family into joining us, and have gone from Dolphin to Swan to Boardwalk to Poly and are now at the Yacht Club. Oh my! I think I have spent more time on this board reading everyone's advice then I have with my family. :surfweb: I know it is sad, but so much fun!!!!

 I think we may need to start a 12 step program.

Thanks again for making me feel 'normal'.:cheer2:

UPDATE: Well, I switched us over to AKL - standard view. Honestly, as much as I loved Coronado Springs and the Pepper Market, I couldn't get past the thought of sharing a full bed with my DH. I need a little more space!

The queen beds at AKL will be much better for us. DH and I love Boma and the Mara, and the kids will love seeing the animals in the viewing areas.

Hopefully this will be the last change.
