I called AT&T about getting their internet connection through U-verse. They have a good promo for the first year and then the price goes up about $15 per month. The sales person said that once I was out of my 1-year promo period I could call and get on another promo period. Has anyone done this with U-verse?

I have never done it, but I cancelled a few years ago and they offered my great deals to stay with them. I wish I had stayed with them. I tried to cut the cord and was so un happy I went back to them and can't see leaving anytime soon!

We have ATT DSL and I call every year to get the new promotional price.

That's what I was hoping to hear. I have crappy DSL which is running at about 80% of the crappy speed it's supposed to be running at and I really want to change NOW. I also have Dish, which I like, but my bill is really high for no premium channels. When I called them to ask how I could save on my bills they suggested that I downgrade to a cheaper option ... at full price ... going from 200 channels to 120, while dropping some of the channels that I do watch. Thanks for NOTHING Dish :thumbsup2! I suspect that if I tell them I am cancelling they will suddenly come up with a deal, but who the heck wants to play that game?

I had att... Hated their service, after the promo ended we couldn't get a discount,I tried calling more than once....nothing.....so we paid over 30 per month for their crap dsl and their unbelievably bad customer service....then we switched to comcast (internet only) for 8 more per month at 25x the speed..... Good luck getting more promo prices applied.... But again we didn't get uverse in our neighborhood.....

it wasn't easy... i had to call back 3 times but the last time only took me 8 minutes, i just did this last week.

Been with AT&T for 6 years, and have never paid full price yet:thumbsup2

I just called last week to get a better price plan for home phone and u verse Internet. I currently have home phone with voice mail and caller ID bundled with u verse 6mbps internet $76/mth. Was able to drop bill to $56/mth with same phone service and double the Internet speed to 12mbps. Offer good for 12 months.

I ended up calling last month and got them to bring me down to $30.50 for 18mbs for 12 months. Guess I'll be calling back in a year, :)

We have TV/Internet through Uverse. I called as our 1-year period was ending. I'd read this article on renegotiating with Uverse and followed the steps they recommended.

The best I could get was a net increase of $10/month, which was still better than what it was going to be if I hadn't called. In order to get that deal I had to add their phone service. So we came out paying a little bit more but with an additional feature we didn't have before.

I love Uverse. Way better on so many levels than what we had before (Time Warner).

I was ATT DSL. They dumped DSL here so I had to go Uverse.
They gave me the highest speed for a year at the DSL Price.
When renewal came up, no offers, but just DW and I so I down graded to slowest Uverse speed.
This year, DD is back after a year going to college in England, I called, no offers, I asked for the "retention" person. Poof, fastest service for a year for $26 a month.
DS is in IT and checked out service, and it is the fastest service, but none of us can detect any difference in the stuff we use, including Netflix and Youtube.

My promo periods end the first of the year. My old boss told me to call at that time and tell them I wanted to cancel and they would give me a lower price. I am glad to hear other people have done the same thing.
