My DS really wants to go to Sci Fi Dine-In for dinner but we are a party of 9. Can they accomodate that many people for seating in one car or will we be placed in separate locations. I've never been to this restaurant and have no idea how it works. Also, Sci Fi has gotten a bad rap food wise. Does anyone suggest I skip this one? Any help is appreciated!

It really depends on how big the people in your party are. If you have alot of kids a 3 seater may fit you. Usually it's 2 adults per seat, 3 seats per car. My 3 kids all fit in one seat together.
If you don't fit ask for cars that are side by side. You'll still be close enough to be "together".

Hope this helps!!

We had a party of 8 last year (and will have this year as well, except 2-1yr olds and a 5 yr old). Last year they obviously seated us 4 to a car. This year when I booked Sci-Fi, I was told no more than 6 to a car, so therefore the CM said she was "booking us for 2 cars".

there were 6 of us in one car, grandsons x2 in front, dd and sil in middle and dh and I in the back..................back seat drivers I say. LOL

We also did 8 .........4 adults 4 kids,... 2 adults,2 adults 1 kid then 3 kids in one car.

Sci-Fi at dinner was the worst food that I have ever had. They even brought 2 of us a different dinner because they knew it was bad and both were unedible. We basically had drinks and dessert and didn't touch our meals. This applied to both adults and kids.

I have heard that their hamburgers and french fries and milkshakes at lunchtime are good.

We had a little car on the side which had only 2 rows when we went last time. Perhaps you could get a 3 row car and a two row ? We always do Sci Fi, it's a blast and I loved the ribs and hot fudge sundae we had last time !

The food was not great....but it wasn't un-edible. I feel like most food at Disney is over-hyped. There wasnt anything wrong with our food, it just wasnt fabulous. The atmosphere more than made up for it for us. It's a cool place! :goodvibes

I agree. The food was decent, but the surroundings were a must see. We will go back every year. As far as seating......The 2 kids sat in front and us adults fit fine in the rear.

I'm OK with mediocre food at some of the restaurants. Like you, I agree that the experience makes up for the food in some cases.

Also, congratulations on your engagement! I wish my DH had thought to propose in WDW but we didn't start our minor obsession with it until we went in 2002 (by which time we were married with 2 kids.) Good luck to you.:flower3:
