The caramel shop has now moved up to a MUST DO! Pure awesomeness!
That caramel stuff looks amazing! Guess we will finally start leaving money in Germany (apart from my Hummel Mickey figurines, which they discontinued!).
Are they making the dipped pretzel sticks right there? Can you choose what you want to have or are they pre-made?
Off to fetch a piece of chocolate - you made my mouth water!!![]()

Cannot wait to try those caramel goodies! Those cupcakes look amazing!
Some day we will get to F&W! Every year I look at the pics thru the green eyes of jealousy!Just can't justify pulling DS out of school and can't go without him so we wait a few more years! Someday ....
Great reviews and pictures, as usual!
My keyboard is wet with drool--everything caramel!!!!!!!!!!! I got a little distracted when you mentioned a Magical Star Cocktail (which I had last December at Narcoossee's), but all that caramel candy, etc., looks sooooooo delicious.

Nicki What a great start!!! Oh and all of those caramel pics...my mouth is watering!!
Enjoy your dinner at Narcoosees.....its a favorite of ours...so many delicious entrees...but for dessert ...my one recommendation is... dont miss the almond crusted cheese cake..its terrific!!
Oooh...I'm waiting for my chop suey to finish and I'm drooling over your pictures. Everything looks so yummy -- the shrimp, the sausage from Germany, your drink. We have GOT to do the F&W next year.
DRIVE to the parks...it is SO much easier than waiting for the buses.
And that caramel shop -- definitely on the list for Romeo.
That carmel shop looks so good! I cant wait to try that vanilla cupcake! THanks for the pix. Gives me something to look forward to (and a reason to stick to my diet for the next three weeks, cupcake on the end of the stick)![]()

Things look really yummy so far. Those goodies from the carmel shop-oh my! I hopr you get to try some food from Mexico and Greece-those are my favorites.

Everything looks great...but I just cannot get over the caramel shop. I can't wait to check that out in February...and if I somehow got to meet you guys and Karin Tom...that would be so amazing.
Hope you're enjoying Narcosee's, as I believe you are there as I type this.
I just got back from a week in Virginia Beach to a Nicki & Todd review. Life doesn't get much better.
Looking forward to more.![]()
I leave in a week and these reviews are getting me so excited. I want a caramel/chocolate pretzel!
Yum - what a great first day of eating - and we haven't even heard about dinner yet. We had already planned to check out the caramel shop but now that I've heard about the pretzels I know what I want.Your mention of a Magical Star coctail reminded me of a blog I read recently. It said the drink menu's at resorts and TS has been revamped and has lots of new choices. Did you see anything new at dinner tonight?
Yay - I'm already feeling some martinis!!!We did see alot of new martinis...I forgot to take pics of the drink menu because SOMEONE that I will not mention was hogging it. They did have a new key lime pina colada, key lime martini, tropical martinis, lemonade martinis etc
You should have ordered the cinnamon BUN instead of the cinnamon BUT. It probably would have tasted much better!Per our normal Disney breakfast we had to get fruit (awesome) OJ (nasty but he drinks it) and a cinnamon but that looked so much better than it tasted.

I'm back! Wow what a night! We left here at 6:30 and drove ourselves to the GF. Lots of traffic out there tonight, there is a huge golf outing at the Shades of Green...Childrens Miracle Network.
We valet the car, the told me to make sure to keep my dinner receipt and show it to them with the TIW card. We walked over to the restaurant and we were early so we sat outside and just talked and looked at the castle, how weird the CR looks now that the BLT dwarfs it and boats going by...it was cool but after 30 minutes it became much colder so we moved back inside.
Now I am not one for being uber dressy for a vacation dinner, not even a signature one but Todd had on nice jeans and a long sleeve sweater, I had on black pants and a red sweater but these people look like total slobs, one teenager had on slippers! In a signature place! You had people dressed like they just woke up, just got out of the gym and some that were just...well...a mess.
There was one couple, the hubby acted like Joe Pesci and the wife acted like Marissa Tomei in My Cousin Vinny....they had a little boy. They fought and yelled at the kid the entire time they were in the lobby. They complained to the hostess, demanded to speak to the manager. Turns out they were walk ins and were told there would be a long wait.
The little lobby is too tiny to hold that many people and it became unbearable, especially with the arguing duo. We were seated right at 7:45 and had a prime 4 top table right in front of the castle, we were thrilled with the view and happy to be away from Joe and Marissa UNTIL they were seated right behind us. She had her chair pushed all the way out and it was hitting my chair. When I got up to use the Ladies I said "Excuse Me" trying to get her to push in but that didnt work so I shoved my chair back and moved out, she got it after that.
The entire time we were there this couple fought and they were not quiet about it either. They were terrible to their little boy, yelling at him, made him cry twice. The table behind Todd had a man that sent his dish back 3 times and each time complained that it was undercooked and cold...the chef came out and the manager and they offered to get him anything else but he said the appetizers filled him up. The table across from us had a man that sent his filet back twice because it wasnt cooked how he wanted it. We were really starting to get nervous about eating here.
Our server, Amir, was awesome! He took our drink orders and gave us a few minutes to look over the menu and sip on our white sangria and Magical Star cocktail

Todd shocked me by ordering a cheese plate. He loves all cheeses and for years I thought he would try a plate but he usually goes for the salad or soup. I have no clue what they are but the far left is a very strong blue cheese with a honeycomb, the middle was the most amazing goat cheese (he doesnt like it so I had it all to myself!) with blueberry preserves and the far right is a cheddar like dry cheese with a sweet cookie like crisp. There are sesame crisps on the end on the right. Would he get this again? No....he didnt like the blue cheese or the goat cheese but loves the other dry cheddar like cheese BUT he was very happy to have tried it.

I had the Harvest Waldorf salad with spinach, apples, blue cheese and walnuts. It was huge, fresh, tasty and just awesome. DH had some and said it was good but too much blue cheese, especially after he had some on his cheese plate. I should have had this salad and a bowl of soup because it was so big and filling

We had fresh hot bread and butter too, this was great!

Todd decided on the surf and turf, had his filet cooked medium (in the last 12 months he has seen the light and will order it the RIGHT way - um, that would be MY way) Amir de-shelled the tail at the table for him. The potatoes were very dry, the broccolini was very bitter, the filet was the worst quality of meat...tons of fat and just very tough to chew, the lobster tail was the best part and cooked perfectly and very sweet.

I had the pork stuffed with sausage, fennel etc served with goat cheese polenta, almonds and broccoli rabe. The pork was dry and very tough, the stuffing was eh, the broccoli rabe was horrible but the polenta was amazing and the almonds were awesome.

We watched the electrical parade go by, it was so fun but the constant bickering from Cuz Vinnie was making us miserable and they were planning on waiting for the fireworks! As much as I wanted away from them we had to get dessert and coffee, give the place the full try

Todd had the almond cheesecake with fresh whipped cream and cherries. This was excellent, very light and creamy but very rich too. The cherries were so sweet and added a nice kick to the cheesecake.

When I saw the word apple I was on board! I had the apple walnut cake with poached apples. This was incredible, so light and creamy but packed with apple flavor.

We shared a pressed pot of coffee and received complimentary champagne for our anniversary.

While we are glad that we tried it we are sad that we didnt enjoy the meal foodwise and neighboring diners wise. The atmosphere is excellent, the service is excellent but for the $$ it cost it just wasnt worth it. Todd was sad that we didnt go to Flying Fish and mentioned that Narcoossees and Jiko are great for appies and desserts but not entrees and I agree with that.
One good thing did come out of this meal, DH suprised me and purchased MVMCP at the front desk of the GF while I was in the ladies room! Nov 18 right after dinner at Cali Grill! Great anniverary gift!
