At long last, Nicki & Todd are going back to WDW, LIVE!

So sorry things did not go well at dinner, people are so inconsiderate sometimes.I don't understand why that couple would want to eat there and spent that kind of money when they where already grumpy before they got seated. They should have just left the restaurant and gotten some pizza, they would have been happier and so would their son(poor little guy).I hope that today is much better :flower3:

Hi,

I love your reviews. I was thinking about trying Narcoosees in May, but after reading your review, I think we'll skip it. Also, you're lucky you could get into the new Werthers caramel store. When I was there in September, you couldn't even get near the counter the store was so packed with people. I'll have to try again in May. Have fun tomorrow!! I'm looking forward to more reviews!!

I would def sub something else for Narcoossee's! We were able to get into a very empty caramel shop again today, stay tuned for more pics!

Wow, sorry you didn't enjoy your meal at Narcoosees for the food and your rude table neighbors. This is one restaurant I am looking forward to trying next trip. That and the Yachtman are the only two signatures we haven't tried and in my quest to eat at every restaurant, they are both on my wish list. Hopefully tonight was just an off night for them. Your salad did look devine as I am a huge blue cheese lover so maybe there is hope!

Looking forward to La Hacienda tomorrow!

It may have been an off night, DH doesnt like Yachtsman either because of the quality of the steaks. Cannot wait for LH tonight!!

It surprises me every time HOW people are dressed at signatures! We always try to dress in black pants, shirt and a nice blouse and Tom sometimes even wears a tie at CG, and then we sit next to people in shorts and T-shirts! :scared1:

I would have loved both your entrees! I love cheese and have tried my first cheeseplate last summer!
Your salad with blue cheese looked yum too!
We only have been to Narcoossee's once and didn't like our entrees either. So sorry it happened to you too!
Your dessert looked so good! I could really eat that now for breakfast! ;)

Sleep well and have a great day today!

I was very happy with the appies and the desserts too! I asked Todd if he would get the cheese plate and Cali Grill and he said no  Maybe I will have to get it?

Oops - missed the first couple of days live, but I'm back now.

I'm sorry your Narcoossee's dinner was not great. We're trying CG in January and it's our first signature meal, so hopefully it will go well. And we won't make our kids cry.

I'm getting so excited reading a live review - I can see it in my head more than after trip reviews.

You will love CG, the food was amazing! I love reading live reviews too, it puts me right back at WDW

Sounds like the weather is just wonderful. I'm a little nervous it will be too cold for my grandma in January! But I like Florida cold weather...it's almost never too cold for me.

It was very hot today and supposed to be very cold this weekend, around the low 40's!

Zach is getting better and better, but only time will tell if this will become a chronic problem. He's still eating the special food from the vet so we don't know what will happen once she starts to switch him back to his regular food. Thanks for asking.

Dogs are like kids, you love them just as much as worry about them the same way. Glad to hear he is doing better, your nana must be relieved

Those food court breakfast never really do anything for me either. It's just expensive sustenance to hold me over til I can get to the good stuff!

After this morning's breakfast I agree 100%

Man I'm so sad I won't get to sample the Cosmo Slush! I still haven't tried the Grey Goose Citron though so I guess I have that to look forward to.

I noticed the plates for all the food - looks like they ran out! Up until your photos all the plates were black and white. The ones with the design aren't good for photographing the food. Booo Disney!

At Epcot today they had Halloween cups as well as Xmas cups

Is the Oolong Peach Schnapps Frozen Tea drink available all the time or is that a special F & W item? It sounds yummy.

It is available all year at the China Joy of Tea stand

That caramel stuff looks amazing....another thing to go on my list. Oh so much food, so little time. What's a girl to do???

You have to go and get something here, we did it again today!

When you said you were going to Narcoossee's I wanted to warn you! We really are foodie twins! You said exactly how I feel about Narcoossee's - for the cost, it's just not worth it!
I had the same experience - a very nice salad, entrees were kinda meh. I didn't try dessert when I went. (:scared1: I know, I know...it was late and I was super tired.)

Food sisters, we sure are that! Next trip you can pick my dining :thumbsup2

*Sniff Sniff* Sorry I won't be there. I'll miss you guys. :sad1: Have fun though. Cathy said she would take on the task of drinking an extra margarita for me...so make sure she does! :rotfl:

No dont be mad, we missed the Dis meet...we got so busy with other things and then my mom called to update me on my aunt that is ill (back in Boston) and time just got away from us. I feel terrible about it :guilty:

Hi Nikki

Just caught up and loving your reviews and pictures

I cannot wait to get myself into the Caramel Kitchen - Wow it looks sooooo good :cool1:

I am thinking of giving Narcoosees a go despite your review. I have always thought that the location and atmosphere looks great, shame you had such nasty people sitting nearby :sad2:

Looking forward to hearing more popcorn::

Linda

Hi Linda! The caramel shop is the most incredible thing in Epcot, beats Soarin :lmao:

I hope our other signature meals are much better!

Can't sleep so what else is there to do but look for an update!!!! I'm in luck too. :) Sorry about your dinner. The steak looks small and less than tasty. I'm a farmer's daughter and my dad raised cattle for beef so I am very picky about my meat. Better luck today! Oh, and I love the anniversary present. :) I hope you will go off topic a little and report on the party. I'm still sitting on the fence.

I am hoping the filets we order from here on out are much better. I love my anniversary gift too and promise to take a ton of pics!

I am sorry that you didn't enjoy Narcoosees. My DH and I were just reading your review while having our coffee. We were thinking about it for our annual Aug trip, but I think we will pass. The MVMCP tickets ALMOST make up for a bad meal. :cool1: Good Job Todd!!!! I never understand why parents make ADRs for dinner with little children. Being at Disney is so exhausting/exciting for them. Adding a late/long dinner is just a recipe for disaster both for the family AND the diners around them.
I cannot WAIT to go over to the Werther's store. We are gonna be there in 42 days - shhhh this is the Secret Santa Trip. My kids (and mama) are gonna LOVE us some cupcakes and caramel.
Keep up the GREAT reviews. Hope you have a fabulous F&W day. :goodvibes

Pick another place, I wish we went to Bluezoo or Flying Fish instead. Todd is a love muffin, I was so happy he bought the tickets...he is always doing stuff like that, last year he added 2 more nights to our Poly CL stay while I was in the room getting dressed. I picked a real winner

First time we missed the F&W Festival in years, but living vicariously through your report. The crowd level sounds scary, tho' -- we usually went the opening weekend and it was the same. I think next time (next fall I hope!!!) we will try to go right in the middle so we can enjoy ourselves.

*Do* try WPE for breakfast. In all the years we had been going to WPE for dinner, we had never tried the breakfast before. Last Dec we had some CS credits to use up on our last day and we tried it. Wow!!!! It was awesome. The French toast was incredible. Tons of food. The CMs were trying to tell us to split everything, but we said "we have credits to use up and we want to try all the different entrees" LOL.

The crowds were ok today until 11:30 or so and then it was a nut house again! I am hoping to get to WPE later this week, I love the sound of the breakfast pizza. Todd would love that french toast.

Nicki,

FYI - when you go to Fulton's later this week, you may want to check out the new Pollo Campero, which includes a Babycakes NYC Bakery. They have pumpkin cupcakes!!

Thanks hon, you know me so well!

I'm having so much fun reading your updates. Thanks so much for taking the time to write them each day. :worship: I know that when I get back to the room after a day in the parks, I'm wiped out. I don't think you could pay me to upload photos and construct meaningful sentences. ;)

I aim to please! I am not a napper and the tv has terrible stuff on so I play on the DIS!

Nicki, As always, your reviews & pics are really great! Thank you soooooo much for posting your Narcoossee's review. Like y'all, it's a place that we want cross off of our list. We're going there next Sunday for our anniversary & I've been looking for an updated menu everywhere, but couldn't find one. I'm bummed that the lamb wellington is off of the menu, but I'm very happy to have a heads-up. I'm also sorry to hear that your food was subpar, but you completely saved me from ordering the pork (it's definitely what I would have ordered too). I think I'll stick with the salad, a few apps, & dessert instead.
I hope the rest of your trip is awesome!

Thank you for reading along! Happy to help with Narc's, are you still going to eat there? The menu may change for you dinner date

Nicki Sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your entrees at Narcoosees...That is usually a must do for us because we have always enjoyed our dinners there...

But a friend of mine ate there 2 weeks ago and said the same thing that you did..she was not happy with her surf and turf at all...???

How nice that you were at one of those table with a view...and what a view...!

How awful about the rude table neighbors though.....! And the under dressed people...I thought that they had a dress code...???

Yeah, I would say our experience was less than sub par.....we were so looking forward to it too but you were right about that cheesecake!

Hey Nick! Trying to play catch up here....

One of my fave snacks at the F&W booths was the lettuce wrap, I'm glad you enjoyed it as well!

We made it into the caramel shop but it was right after it opened and it was packed but I managed to get the caramel & chocolate dipped strawberry which was pretty good. It looks like they have a much bigger selection now!!

I'm so sorry you had a bad experience at Nasrcoossee's, I know you were really looking forward to it. We went once and will probably never go again. It's definitely not on the same level as the other signature restaurants in our opinion.

How sweet of Todd to surprise you with the MVMCP tickets!:goodvibes

We had another awesome day at F&W and are heading out to Epcot in a few minutes. Cannot wait for dinner tonight and maybe another treat from the caramel shop??? :lovestruc We love it there!

Todd is a lovey, I was so happy that we can go right after Cali Grill! A perfect night!

I agree. :lmao: I am sure today will be a much better day, dining companion-wise.

LOL it was a much better day!

Omgosh... that couple at dinner sounds unbelievable. You know that is one thing I dislike about customer service and how customers are always right. Because you know what if you don't have maturity you aren't "right". But oh, well. Sorry they made for sour evening.

Your reviews are great! I hope you are having a grand day today.

And, I love your anniversary gift: MVMCP!!! I'd be in heaven.

The best anniversary gift ever! I am not a flower person or a jewlery girl so anything Disney and he gets it right ;)

Hoping our dinner neighbors are better from here on out

I'm sorry Narcossees didn't really work out. Some people can be so rude and disruptive! When I had the surf and turf there I had the exact opposite thought on the food, the filet was really good, and the lobster tail was really rubbery. Your desserts look so good though, and so do the cheese and salad.

I hope you love Hacienda tonight. I'm sure you will.

I hope we will love it too! Sometimes appies and dessert is all a girl needs :woohoo:

I love it!!!! I'm in for the long haul!!! Can't wait to read more!! Have a great trip!

Awesome, glad to have you here!!

I'm in...I'm SO in!! We went to WDW in July, and our next trip isn't until July 2012...so I have to live vicariously through dining reviews here to get my "fix" in the meantime! I have always enjoyed reading your reviews in the past! ;)

So your anniversary is the 17th, huh? Ours is November 18th! This Thursday will be 9 years for us! Great time of year to get married! :goodvibes

Looking forward to reading more!

Happy anniversary to you! Glad you are following my food porn!

They should have just left the restaurant and gotten some pizza, they would have been happier and so would their son(poor little guy).I hope that today is much better :flower3:

These people were just awful, I wanted to say something to them so bad but I kept my big mouth shut and that was very hard for me to do :headache: The worst was them calling their son names and picking on him, they told him he was a baby etc etc....that burned my britches

Sorry for the lack of update but it has been a wild day..promise to get to everything tonight but right now we are headed back out to Epcot

Cya later!

Sorry about your less than stellar Narcoossees experience.

Your Todd is like my dh. We went there in May for our anniv. too. We didnt get a good table like you two did. Ours was at the top right next to the bar, not very romantic. Couldnt even see the fireworks. Just as your Todd my dh hated the filet and thought the potatoes were nasty.

Good thing you didnt order the soup. The portion was so small. I loved the almond cheesecake too. My dh doesnt want to go back either. Hmm, hes turning into Todd.:)

I cant wait to try a carmel apple with nuts for sure too. My favorite place was Beverly Sweets in HS to get one. I will see if the carmel kitchen is better.

Have a great dinner. Cant wait for your review.

Please don't apologize! This is your vacation, we are thankful you chose to share it with us by doing live updates.

We have great taste in men though right? :goodvibes We went back to the caramel shop (I know, again?? :rotfl2:) and they will de-stick the apples and cut them into 6 pieces for you...good to know for tomorrow

Please don't apologize! This is your vacation, we are thankful you chose to share it with us by doing live updates.

Thanks babe! Makes me feel better knowing that you guys will wait for me :grouphug:

I think I"ll have a glass of wine while I wait for your review...ok maybe two:shamrock:

Was it good wine?

Hey, BFF. I've been on the couch all day in dire pain in my back, just waiting for your update.

Where do I begin? Lets start with breakfast. Another early morning and the food court wasnt that busy. I just wanted eggs of some sort and a croissant. DH wanted to try the danish and of course there was fruit and OJ. The line was the shortest at the omelet station so we ordered a cheese omelet that came with diced potatoes even though the menu picture showed roasted red skinned wedges and Todd had a side of ultra thin and limp bacon.

The croissant was hard and very greasy, not good at all

Nov14Epcotday019.jpg

The cheese danish was hard and greasy and not much flavor (per Todd as I do not like this kind of thing)

Nov14Epcotday018.jpg

The fruit was nice and cold and very sweet and fresh

Nov14Epcotday020.jpg

The potatoes were gross but they gave us a ton of them and DH likes them so that is fine. The bacon was ok he said, the omelet was tasteless...no flavor whatsoever

Nov14Epcotday017.jpg

I just cannot eat here anymore, it is pretty blah. Thank goodness we are going to Boma tomorrow so I can get a real breakfast in me! Funny enough is I just eat Special K in my non Disney life but on vacation I want a nice breakfast every day :rotfl:

It is always such fun to read your reviews, glad you guys are back at WDW and that you are reporting back to us! :cool1:

Loved seeing the items in the caramel shop, I was there the first 2 days that it was open and I could barely see the items for sale through the crowd of people, never had a chance to find the end of the line to actually purchase something either! :scared1: I want one of those bags of caramel corn next time, for sure!

Have a wonderful vacation and an enjoyable night at the MVMCP! :santa:

After breakfast we drove to Epcot. I think from now on whenever we stay at a mod we will drive to all the parks except MK because it is just so much easier...especially from CBR because Epcot and HS are just down the street.

We parked really close to the entrance, made it to rope drop. Did Soarin without a wait, the park was pretty empty so that was nice. Did Test Trace without a wait....did a ton of stuff really. At 10:20 am were at Mexico and walked over to Greece to kill time and some of the F&W stands were already open!

Look what was waiting for us at the entrance to the countries

Nov14Epcotday022.jpg

First stop was Puerto Rico for the Medianoche, otherwise known as a Cuban sandwich. This was awesome! The flavor was incredible...I could have had a huge one of these

Nov14Epcotday021.jpg

Then it was the Champagne and dessert stand and had the pear streusel pudding cake. This was disgusting...it was wet and mushy and ice cold and had zero flavor

Nov14Epcotday007.jpg

Picture of the trio offering, the pear cake, strawberry angel verrine and the dark chocolate sensation

Nov14Epcotday005.jpg

Back to Greece, my personal favorite every single year. We had all 4 items.

Greek salad, this was too wet for me but Todd loved it and ate it all. The pita was crispy and I didnt like that

Nov14Epcotday002.jpg

Chicken souvlaki, this is the best thing ever and I wish they would have it somewhere all the time. Super tender white meat with tzatziki sauce and in a pita but the pita was too crispy

Nov14Epcotday004.jpg

Spanokopita, amazing and filled with creamy spinach and cheese but it was soooo hot I burned my mouth :lmao:

Nov14Epcotday003.jpg

And lastly the bakalava - this was so sweet and nutty and delish, I like it better than the one in Morocco

Nov14Epcotday001.jpg

We were both looking forward to Mexico so we ordered all three items.

Chicken tamale with green chile was very good and had a nice little heat to it. We loved this

Nov14Epcotday010.jpg

Shredded pork corn tortillia, this was spicy and very greasy but ok...we didnt finish it

Nov14Epcotday009.jpg

Esquites - roasted corn with spices, mayo and cheeses...this was disgusting! :scared1: It was so salty that we both had to spit it out.

Nov14Epcotday008.jpg

Back to China for pot stickers...these were very good! Another Peach Snap to slurp..love these so much and this one was stronger than the one we had yesterday

Nov14Epcotday006.jpg

Nov14Epcotday011.jpg

And the last of our adventure (before I get to Candy Land) is France for the short ribs for Todd...he really loved this dish yesterday but today it was awful, the beef was dried and hard as a rock and the mashed potatoes were very hard.

Nov14Epcotday027.jpg

We were supposed to have a Dis meet at the Ditch but I wanted to go to the F&W Festival Center first and we got tied up there and then my mom called to give me an update on my 86 year old aunt (up in Boston, not doing well healthwise) and time got away from us so we missed the meet but Catne emailed me and she missed it too because of her knees...I hope she is feeling better tonight!

Up next, a huge sugar rush for ya'll!

We have a serious problem, both of us are addicted to the caramel shop...for me it is the smell :rolleyes1 but for DH it is the treats!

Fresh hot caramel corn was just made and we had to have it. It is so buttery, so chewy and sweet and salty and I just cannot describe it, the taste is unlike any other and I cannot eat caramel corn from any of the other parks now...Epcot has ruined it for me  We just got a small bag to share

Nov14Epcotday026.jpg

And some other pictures to make you go crazy with cravings!

First, I forewarned you that the food court at the CBR was not very good (the two times we ate there I had wished we had gone to McDonald's instead; and the only thing Andy liked there last year was the Philly Cheesesteak sandwich).

You seem to be either hitting or missing at the F&W...and, if I'm not mistaken, it was the same last year.

Romeo is sitting here drooling over your photos of the caramel shop and deciding which one he wants to try first because, of course, he wants one of everything.

DS and I are doing the same thing! Oh my, I want one of each!

Hey, BFF. I've been on the couch all day in dire pain in my back, just waiting for your update.

Oh no! What happened to you? Do you want me to send Pooh up there to take care of you? Please get some rest so you feel better soon!

It is always such fun to read your reviews, glad you guys are back at WDW and that you are reporting back to us! :cool1:

Thank you! That was how it was tonight, the line was out the door and around the building! But it was totally worth waiting in line for treats

Loving your reviews!

Thank you!

You are right, the food court is not the best. I have to figure something else out...I have 2 days at Boma, 1 at the MK Bakery, 1 at WPE in DTD (hopefully) and 2 days that I have no clue what to do

Yup, the F&W is hit or miss and next year I do not plan on devoting more than 2 afternoons to it.

Tell Romeo that Todd is drooling over here too and he is eating the stuff

DS and I are doing the same thing! Oh my, I want one of each!

Now you can understand why we were there 3 times in just 36 hours :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

Oh no! What happened to you? Do you want me to send Pooh up there to take care of you? Please get some rest so you feel better soon!

Have no idea...just hurts a whole lot when I stand or walk.

Why don't you just get some cereal and fruit for the room and then have a CS lunch?

Tell Todd Mark is VERY jealous and said to ship him some. :)

WOW! Great updates! Omg that caramel shop looks soooo good!!! My mouth is watering looking at all your amazing pics. 3 days til we're down there with ya! Keep the awesomeness coming!!:goodvibes:goodvibes
