At long last, Nicki & Todd are going back to WDW, LIVE!

We left Via Napoli full...well I was full but you know who wasnt and I knew where this was leading to.

DH: Nic, I need something sweet

So I kiss him

DH: While that is sweet that is not what I am thinking.

So off we go to France...and he has the baby aspirin, oops I mean a Gran Marnier Slushie. I thought I liked these but one sip and I was nauseated. Give me Grey Goose or give me Death!

Since he wasnt feeling in a French mood we walked off lunch and went to Norway (seriously do you know how many times we made the Epcot lap??? Helps burn off the calories!)

No go at Norway either but I did get a Voss water and some pictures :goodvibes

I know where this is leading before he does...or maybe at the same times he does. We are going that way, the aroma is starting to get stronger, there are people with Werthers bags....we are in for some TROUBLE!

We walk in and I told him that I wasnt that hungry and he could get what he wanted. Problem was they were making a fresh batch of caramel corn and Todd has a law "Thou shalt not pass up hot caramel corn"

So we got some :lmao:

Nov19day021.jpg

Another problem, they had just made hot fresh caramel brownies and were putting the caramel drizzle on them

Nov19day010.jpg

And we had to have one, much like a child having to get the latest toy we had to have the latest goodie :rotfl: Pure bliss...the brownie was soft and right and sweet but not too sweet and had caramel all through it and on top to boot....it was just

I would have loved to take home this gingbread caramel house

It is a miracle we are not in caramel shock this week

Loving your reviews once again!! So glad you enjoyed Citrico's so much. Now that's on my list of possibilities for a romantic dinner for DH and me when we go back (we're going to put the kids into the camp at beach Club one evening and go to a signature restaurant). My DH would love those short ribs!

That sounds like a great plan...you will love it so much!

We also enjoyed Cape May breakfast. Their pastries were fresh and delicious. Eggs were very good, not what you would expect from a typical buffet. Only problem is...I was VERY nervous about eating breakfast there (the last morning of our trip in July). A few days into our trip, we had an ADR for Cape May dinner. DS5 is allergic to shellfish, but we always go out to eat and DH and I order it with no problem. The only time before then that it affected him, it was from ingesting shrimp, so I took him to have him tested and sure enough he has a shellfish allergy. I carry an Epi-pen, but fortunately never had to use it. Well...we walked into Cape May, and as soon as we passed the buffet when the hostess was seating us, the steam was in the air from the crab legs and DS5's nose got stuffy and his eyes got puffy and red and itchy. We walked right out of there, and within 2 minutes his reaction cleared up completely. The manager was wonderful and arranged for us to eat at Kouzzina instead (our choice, and it was excellent). I knew they served shellfish at Cape May of course, but I didn't know they steamed it right out in the open. I also didn't know he would have a reaction from breathing it in.

I am so sorry this happened to your little one...that is terrible!

So, I was very skeptical about keeping our ADR at Cape May for breakfast. I asked the manager about it before we left, and she said it should be fine since there is no fish at breakfast except smoked salmon (he's not allergic to regular fish). DH and I had talked it over and decided to give it a try. The chef was great, he kept checking on us. He did say that there is no guarantee that someone didn't get some crab juice on the seat the night before. That made me uncomfortable. Thank goodness everything was fine, and DS5 was fine. But looking back, we should have gone to a different breakfast. So unfortunately, we will not be returning to Cape May.

That is such a shame but I can completely understand the reasoning. Have you been to Crystal Palace and Chef Mickeys? Those are excellent too!

I'm so happy I didn't miss much today (yet)! I did some Christmas shopping NOW since I'll be at WDW for 9 days and I don't want to be too far behind when I get home (which I know I will be). :rotfl2: I can't wait to read about last night's dinner, the party, and today!!!!!!!!!!! Glad you are having a great time. Disney is the best isn't it!

I have lots of Xmas shopping to do when I get back! Hope you have a wonderful vacation!

Hi Nicki,
Just checking in to see any new reports. I'm sure you're having a great time.
Can't wait to read more.
Joan

Hi Joan, you didnt miss much cuz I have not updated LOL

Perhaps you should have tried the sushi? ;)

I am totally dismayed by the bad luck you are having with your meals this trip. I know how much you enjoyed Cali Grill the last time and to have it be such a flop (like Narcooses) must be very disappointing for you.

I'm sorry you have been having a headache again. I hope you are better for the rest of the trip. Did you go to Sea World today?

And I'm so tired I got a glimpse of the Food KING!

Maybe :lmao: I guess we should stick with what we know?

Lack of Starbucks is giving me a headache :headache:

Oh, darn, what a bummer for both of you! It's sad to look forward to something so much only to be disappointed. I hope you had a blast at the party though! That filet does not appear to be worthy of the price in my opinion. But what do I know (not much). :rotfl2: We've never ventured to California Grill. Sadly my stomach prevents me from eating steak unless its a filet but this filet really looks fatty to me. It also bans me from chocolate or whipping cream I think. I'm staying clear it on our trip because I do not want to suffer the consequences while on vacation! Make your last few days the best!!!!!!!!!!

Dinner was not great but the party sure was! Filets are not supposed to be fatty but Narcoossee's and Cali Grill didnt get the message :rotfl2:

What a bummer about CG. We had a magical 20th anniversary dinner there 4 years ago and DH just doesn't want to go back because he knows it probably won't be as perfect as that night. I had no idea they had gingerbread goodies at the Contemporary but the one time I was there in December I don't think we made it over there. It's on the agenda this time since it will be easy to reach from the Poly.

Hope you enjoyed the Christmas party - can't wait to hear about it.

The gingerbread they sell at the resorts isnt good at all...get the gingerbread men at Main Street bakery...so much better!

Oh, sweetie. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the pictures. You guys are just cute as buttons and seeing them makes us miss you all the more. I'm not trying to age us any faster than we already are (meaning Mark and I, NOT you and Todd), but I sure as heck wish Mark would reach 62 so we can move to Florida as is the plan so we can be by you guys.

Aw, you make me blush! We miss you both so much too! And watch out FL when you finally make the move!

Well, you did it now! Oh, the power of the written word (and let's not forget the pictures that are worth a thousand words! :rotfl:) DH and I both read your Cali Grill review and... I am canceling our 26th anniversary dinner there in February. Your experience reminded us all too much of our own experience there years ago. There is just no way I am risking 2 TS credits for another meal like yours! BTW, I hate when restaurants serve that ice cold, hard-as-a-rock butter! I also can't believe you couldn't get a French press of coffee with your dessert!

Thanks again for your fabulous reviews. I love the way you incorporate your conversations into your reports! DH had a chuckle of Todd calling your salad "weeds" because he says the same to me about the bitter greens that I like to eat.:thumbsup2

So what are you going to book instead? Citricos? :goodvibes

I hate tearing my bread with frozen butter

Okay, that is it. I am NOT reading your reviews any more. My stomach cannot take it; my eyes are red from crying because I'm laughing so hard. I cannot believe what Todd has pulled on this trip and I cannot believe he passed up LeCellier. 3 times, Nicki? 3 times? I am absolutely speechless.

You?? What about me??? I have to live with this on a daily basis! And when we are home he could care less about what we eat!!!!

Please forgive me my friends but I do not have the energy to post dinner at the Clambake...it will have to wait until tomorrow.

We are going to MK tomorrow but I dont know what we are doing for breakfast, food court or Main Street Bakery. My love muffin said he would let me know...when?? Your guess is as good as mine!

Have no clue what we are doing for lunch but I know there are no lunch TS in MK available, I called dining line, I went online and I checked with the conceirge in the CBR food court.

But you know as well as I do...that means nothing to Sir Eats A-Lot

Dinner is at Fultons and then shopping at DTD again!

See you at nap time - er pool time!

That stinks that your meal at CG was so disappointing! Cannot WAIT for that caramel brownie :lovestruc Have a great day tomorrow!!

DH: Dunno yet but I wanted to be waited on

ME: You get that every day of your life, what else is new?

If anyone was by Canada around noon and saw a short woman climbing up a tall man and beating him over the head with her camera....that was me and I apologize

Our server was Fabrizio and he was just lovely to look at

DH: (snapping his fingers at me to get my attention) Hello? Sadie Sadie Married Lady? You there? What do you want to eat?

Oh yeah, I married a German...so goes the Italian fantasy.....

All I have to say is....:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:
You're TR is hilarious to read!!! :worship:

It would be wonderful if your trip lasted another week! I've enjoyed your reviews so much I don't want them to end!!!! You two are a hoot!!!!!! I can't wait to read where you ate today. :) We have reservations at The Plaza during our trip. Perhaps you can convince your dear husband to eat there. I'd love a current review!!!!! :rotfl2: Happy Saturday to both of You!!!!

We said a "CYA" to Cali
The park wasnt that busy, or so I thought. The rides were all walk on and I do mean all the rides. We did some PP pics, after 5 years I have a new picture of us with Mickey and Minnie in Xmas gear and they had a long line for the 7 dwarfs but it was worth the wait as we never see them all together. Did the standard Castle pics too.

Love the castle pictures.:thumbsup2
Would you mind posting the 7 dwafts pics....I've never seen them together.
We were supposed to go last December but DS and DH both got the flu right before we left so I changed our dates to do Star Wars Weekend. That was fun but I need to go back for a MVMCP.

ME: Ok Charlie (I dont know why I call him this but I always do), what are we eating?

DH: Dunno yet but I wanted to be waited on

ME: You get that every day of your life, what else is new?

OMG! I think my DH must channel your DH or something. This is acommon discussion in our house - not just at DH but on weekends when we are both lazy!:lmao:

Just to let you know - I also had a HORRIBLE experience at Cali Grill in 04. It was for our engagement dinner/my birthday. We had the ressie WAY in advance with notes of the party, because it was what I really wanted. We got there like way early, DH had another convo with the host about it being a special night, that I really wanted to watch the fireworks and so we sat and got a great spot at the bar.
When we were seated we were seated WAY in the back corner overlooking the roof of the COntemporary. No view at all of the MK. I was so upset. DH told the server who got an assitant manager who was incredibly rude - told us there was nothing he could do. (By this point we had been there an hour - it was 1/2 hour past ressie time.) We saw a family get up on the other side of the restaurant and DH said something like - Well what about that table?" He told us no because it had to go to a 4 top and he walked away. DH called the concierge at the GF (where we were staying) - and booked us at an immediate window spot at Narcooses'. So we left. I know this is SO long ago - but I just won't ever go back.
So sorry about your bad meal but I am so glad the Christmas party was fun!
VN looked awesome again! I am just so glad you are having a wonderful trip and anniversary!

That is such a shame but I can completely understand the reasoning. Have you been to Crystal Palace and Chef Mickeys? Those are excellent too!

We went to Chef Mickey's for breakfast on the last morning of our 2008 trip. We loved it there. We went back this past July, but for dinner on arrival night. We loved that too! :) A definite must for the boys!

We went to Crystal Palace an hour before rope drop this past July. We loved it there too. I ate my weight in puffed french toast and chocolate Mickey waffles! :rotfl: My boys love the Winnie the Pooh characters too, which is a bonus...wait a minute, this is all supposed to be for THEM right? :lmao:

My favorite character breakfast of all though was 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian. It's so beautiful in there, and the food was very unique. I loved the bananas foster topping for the french toast, and the lobster eggs benedict. The pastries were to die for also. Can you tell I love my sweets?! ;)

Sorry your dinner at Cali Grille was so disappointing. The more I read your reviews, the more I realize that we HAVE to go to Citrico's AND Flying Fish! I mean, how can we pass up Flying Fish when our DVC home is Boardwalk Villas? The only reason we didn't go there this time was because we didn't want to go to any signatures with the kids just yet, and my little guy is only 3 so we couldn't put both of them into the kids' camp. So I think this will be the plan for next time: Yachtsman Steakhouse with the boys (they both LOVE steak and so do we!), Citrico's with the boys, and Flying Fish by ourselves. So far it looks like those will be the signatures we will try on our 2012 trip. I will change my mind 1,000 times though, DH won't care as long as he eats good food (and he trusts me and knows how important the food is to me...he's so sweet!), and no matter where we end up, we will have a great time!!

You are convincing me more and more to go to Via Napoli next time! Looks like a great place and the kids would love it too! They take Tables in Wonderland, right?

I walked into the Patisserie in France one day and didn't buy anything...I surprised myself that time. THAT time! Other times, I enjoyed the croissants and their chocolate mousse! And I'm with you on the Grey Goose Slush...never tried the Grand Marnier one, but I LOVE the Grey Goose one, I don't think I can stray from that! :goodvibes

Oh no! I am so sorry that you had such a lousy meal at Cali Grill. Mostly because it was, by far, my favorite meal of our trip. But, both my husband and I LOVE sushi and we got an amazing flatbread that I can still taste, I swear. :lmao: I honestly can't say I remember a whole lot about the entrees as we were so full from the sushi and flatbread....maybe I'll order a salad as my entree this time? That might work out better for me. Who knows? I just hope it was an "off night," although I'm so sorry it had to be for your night there. I also think that part of it was that I was completely blown away to be standing anywhere in the Contemporary, where I would love to stay someday, and we did get the window seat with the direct view of the castle, during Wishes...so I might have just been as awestruck with the atmosphere of the place, as anything else. We have a reservation there for our upcoming trip in February for my mom's birthday. Uh-oh.

I have to say that as far as your love of EPCOT, you are a girl after my own heart. It is my absolute favorite park, hands down. There's just so much to look at and do...um...ok...and eat! :rotfl: And I cannot wait to get my hands on that caramel corn in Germany.

Your reviews have been so much fun! Hope Fulton's is awesome tonight. I had a great meal there when I was a little girl and it was still the Empress Lilly. :lmao:

Nicki Just finished catching up...

More wonderful reviews...and your adventures with "Sir Eats Alots" are just hilarious!!!

My DH and I get the same entrees that you both did at Citricos( we are not adventorous and always order the same things!!??) ...glad you enjoyed your dinner there....great food and atmosphere...

I knew as I was reading where you were going to end up for your dessert after Via Napoli! OMG those caramel brownies look amazing!!

Looking foward to hearing all about the clambake...we have always thought about going but never been.........

Something tells me that there is a TS meal in your future even if there are no times available at the MK today....:) Enjoy!

I'm leaving here shortly to go and see Edward for my massage. I hope by the time I get home that you will have an update of where you ended up going for breakfast this morning. And Todd better NOT be cancelling Fulton's....I'm counting on him to eat those King Crab Claws in my honor. ;)

Hope you are having a great day. I can't believe your trip is almost over.

When we get to VN, I'll be able to order without needing the menu thanks to you! That 4 sectioned pizza looked awesome! I laughed out loud when I saw your description of the Gran Marnier slushy as that's exactly how I think it tastes. I have flashbacks to a childhood illness and St. Joseph's baby aspirin :rotfl: BLECH! I'll toast you with my Grey Goose slushy in 33 days!:)

I'm so sad your meal at CG wasn't up to par, y'all have had some bad luck with the meals this trip! So, does the staff at Via Napoli know you guys by first name?

I have been so sick so I'm finally catch up. You guys are so sweet helping the man with the wheelchair.

I was :rotfl::lmao:regarding the flowers b/c I get mad at my husand when he used to send me flowers (I thought its a waste of money)...I rather go out for a nice dinner (but I don't think spending $200 for a nice dinner is a watse but its a nice memories). I'm not a jewerly girl either...:rotfl2:

Thanks for the update on Photopass at GF b/c I was wondering when we could visit and get a family picutre but now I'm so happy that there will be a photographer from 9am-9pm...:worship:

Sorry, for the dinner at Cali Grill...I know you guys were really looking forward to it.

I can't believe whenever Todd wants to eat...he manages to get you guys in...it make people like us who makes ADR or planning like we don't know anything:sad2
I'm glad you guys had a great time at MVMCP (I'm planning on packing hats, gloves and coat when we go)...I have turtle neck and fleece. I rather have our son warm and in layers and have a blast. We will not be able to stay late so we will attend 2 parties.

haha, he remembers what you like/don't like to eat, but not to do the chores. Sounds about right. I call it blindeyes...you know, when the laundry basket is at the bottom of the stairs and he steps over it to go up, then claims not to have seen it:rotfl2:...

What a pity you didn't like CG, but that caramel shop and Via Napoli has to make up for it, right?..did they know you by name?:cool1:

so glad you're having a fantastic time...you two are so cute in the photopass pictures.

Oh the adventures of Nicki and Sir-Eats-a-Lot! :lmao: You guys crack me up.

I'm so sorry your Cali Grill dinner was less than stellar! Seems unusual for them.

At Via Napoli, I saw your pizza, that Quattro Stagioni, on the menu and knew people would end up in the same situation as you, thinking it was 4 toppings evenly spread over the pizza. I wish they would describe how it is on the menu. Quattro Stagioni is a popular pizza in Italy, with one topping on each quadrant, so while it's authentic, they should explain it!
