Astronaut Kidnapping Plot: Anyone See This?

I know alcohol has already been mentioned, but to me she looks like a strung out Meth-user.

I would have to imagine that being an astronaut and going through life as "goal oriented", focused, and determined as she has (her resume is pretty amazing) that maybe the pressure just finally got to her?? She somehow believed she had some type of relationship with this other pilot. I would be willing to bet they had "some type of relations" at one time or another that she's built up in her head.

She obviously needs help and I'm pretty sure she can kiss her NASA career goodbye.

Maybe NASA just didn't ask the hypothetical "What if in 10+ years when you're married with kids you have an extramarital affair? Would you be discreet or would you go ape**** and attempt to kidnap an alleged rival for your paramour's affections while wearing a diaper?"
Well, I agree with the poster in that this was not something like 'temporary insanity'. She methodically planned and carried out the plan over an extended period of time. And, yet, thru the last year or two, she even went thru the extensive and rigorous demands of qualifying for space travel and flew on a mission... Nobody at NASA noticed anything??? :confused3

I wonder how long it will take NASA to remove her status as Astronaut????

And, NOTE to Chrissy, I was indeed talking about those to tragedies as two separate incidences.

Wouldn't it suck if you were one of the astronauts locked up in say the biosphere with her for 2 years.:lmao:

Now that has the makings for a made for TV movie.

Yeah, the first thing I thought of when I heard about this was that it's just a Lifetime movie waiting to happen :rotfl2:

Well I read earlier that since this hasn't happened to NASA before they don't really have a protocol. So seeing how things USUALLY move in that organization, her astronaut status should be yanked in oh say 5 years at the earliest. ;)

She wore a diaper to avoid stopping
what a great tip when traveling to Orlando use a diaper to avoid stops.:rotfl:

Adding this to my tip sheet for Orlando trips!

I guess I'll have to be the Pampers lady, since Huggies lady is already taken!:rotfl:

Here is a pic of the man behind the story.

I wonder how this will affect the other girl and guy, career wise, if there were any true romantic relationships going on.

As far as her astronaut status, they probably have to let the court system do it's job first. Although, I could see putting her on "administrative leave" until it is all said and done.

My first thought was that his career was over too. I thought I heard someone say that he was married, and they were "having a relationship", but after I read the stories on the links carefully, it said that the other guy is not married, and she said that they were not romatically involved (more than friends, but not romantic). Apparently, she wanted to be more, but that's not his fault, of course.

It sounds like he may be in the clear. Based on what I've read (big grain of salt there ;) ), it sounds like she's the one with the problem. I didn't read a lot about the woman who was being attacked.

From what I saw on the news..they are already supporting her...

She's obviously sick and the important thing is to get her help....

So far I haven't seen anything said about the victim. I guess she should just suck it up.

Her former supervisor who lost his wife in Columbia was even kind of defending her by saying how stressful it is to be an astronaut.:confused3

This case is going to be disturbing....and I don't mean in what the lady did...but what kind of reduced charges and reduced sentences and "therapy" she will receive.:sad2:

They are even letting her go back to Houston. But I guess that is okay since she won't be near Colleen Shipman.

...or they will leave her on the Moon!

Question: How long does it take to drive from Houston to Orlando?
Answer: Depends!!! :rotfl: :rotfl:

:happytv:

I wonder how long before Letterman or Leno pick up that joke.

Hmm--wondering if I should set the TIVO..the monologue could be a good one. Too much wacky material to just stay silent.

I also heard on one of the news shows that the NASA people will have some kind of military code of conducts to report to because it's part of the military:confused3 If this is true, then I would guess all 3 careers of the people are pretty much tanked.
