Hi ..... My son has always like the spinning flying rides like Dumbo and Alladin. I think part of his "fun" is the fact he knows I am not crazy about spinning rides and he likes to bounce me around a bit, lol. With that being said we have never been on the Asto Orbiter and I know he wants to go on this year. Is it faster than Alladin? I know it is higher, but I was curious about the speed. Thanks.

I think it's faster. Maybe the height makes it feel worse, but I still think it is.

I agree with mom2rtk -- there is definitely a height thing going on!! With that said -- we LOVE this ride!!!!

It's definitely faster, but you'll mostly feel that during the landing when you get pushed to the outside of the rocket by the centrifugal force.
It's a very short flight though, so if you're not loving it, it'll be over quickly.
If you're going to ride, try to hop on before 10. It's slow loading and low capacity - so the line gets pretty long in the afternoon and the wait is all outside and very boring.

It could be going the same speed as Aladdin, but it definitely feels a lot faster. It can easily make you dizzy where as Aladdin or Dumbo wont

Just got back this week. Astro Orbiter is faster than Dumbo and Magic Carpets. It is much scarier.

I am not good with spinning rides either. Astro Orbiter is faster, but that is not what freaks me out. It's the fact that the cars tip slightly. That with being so far up, I always feel like I may fall out at any moment (even though my head tells me I won't). The view is great from up there though, especially at night, so I do it anyway. :scared:

I feel like I am going to come flying out at any time, too...which is why I don't ride it anymore.

I'm trying to suck it up and ride this finally this upcoming trip. I always chicken out! So high and worry about falling out :scared:

Glad I'm not the only one that felt I was about to fall out and I'm an athletic guy who rock climbs and I did not enjoy that ride.

Thanks to everyone for the comments. I would love to see the views from up there but I don't know if my stomach could tolerate the quick spinning and feeling of falling out. Thank everyone.

If you decide to try it and feel yourself getting dizzy, close your eyes. I've done that a couple times and it worked for me.

I have never ridden it, the only ride I refuse to go on. Well that and Tower of Terror. I look at it and say "oh hell no"

The view is indeed pretty cool...but I'm such a wuss and it does feel faster and I sometimes feel a bit sick by the end...but it was worth it to see DD loving it soo much...just maybe don't eat right before lol...and yes...slow loading and line can take a while even when it isn't that busy.

I like Aladdin and dumbo but usually opt out of astro orbiter. It really pushes you to the edge of the rocket on the way down.

If you guys ever make it out west, you might like their Astro Orbiter better. It sits down on the ground like Dumbo.

I just had to google this because I grew up in Southern California and grew up going to Disneyland and they were up high too. I see that changed in 1997, the last time I was there was in 1995.

Hi. I just wanted to share my experience with AO. I don't really like spinning rides, but can usually be okay if I ride (I do like the carousel). DH and I decided to try AO 2 years ago since there was no wait. It was the first time I ever worried that I might actually get sick on a ride. If it had gone on any longer, I think I would have lost it! My DH thought it was the funniest thing. He doesn't do thrill rides and I do, but he could handle it and I couldn't! I wouldn't recommend it for you if you know you have issues.
