Astro Orbit ride, give me feedback?

How scary is Astro Oribit ride? Great to ride during Wishes?

have a fear of heights, it may be scary. It seems to me that it spins quite a bit faster than Dumbo or Aladdin. It is interesting at night. The load time is way too long usually at night to make it worthwhile.

If you get motion sickness from other circular rides that let the vehicular clues lift off the ground, then yes. If you don't, then no.

It nearly made me hurl, and I do fine on everything else but the teacups. But I'd like to try it during fireworks. But our last two trips, it wasn't running during. Does it usually shut down during fireworks, or were those just flukes?

I did it once. Most terrifying 15 minutes in my life. And I do not get motion sick or hate thrill rides.

Seriously, I thought I was going to swing out and die.

It can be a bad experience if:

1) You are afraid of heights
2) You have motion sickness (Ride spins in a circular motion)
3) You have difficulty sitting in very tight spaces (Ride vehicles are TINY)
4) The weather is rainy/cold/stormy/etc. (Ride is entirely outdoors)

If any of the above are not an issue for you then you will be fine.

It's only scary if you think an kid fashioned playground carousel that's faster, elevated, and has seat belts would be scary. It doesn't spin as fast as the tea cups, but it's pretty high.

We consider it a baby ride. For reference, I love the tea cups, and I'm not afraid of heights. I don't like Space Mountain, and BTMRR is usually the most coaster that I can handle.

Its like dumbo yes, but the angle the rocket is on if feels like its much faster. I myself much prefer Dumbo during wishes.

My 5 year old's favorite ride. We rode it for the first time in April (and I've been going since the late 70s). You definitely l want to hit it before the line gets long.

I've been on too many rides to name including various roller coasters at various parks. Mission Space seems tame by comparison.

This ride hurts. You just want it to stop.

It looks like a tame ride but it's not.

It's one of the rides that is better at WDW than DL, cuz at WDW it's elevated. Not fast, typical plane ride that goes in circles and you can make it go up or down. Most kids 2 and up would like it, especially sitting with their parent. Has a moderate wait in hot and dull queue.

My adult kids rode it recently and complained that the seats were not comfortable. DS is very tall and just a big guy. Two adult ladies rode together and said it was like being squashed in a can. My four year old DGD loved it.

Me and the kids rode this last year, first and only time so far. It was cool....we rode it at night just before Wishes started.

One of only two rides that have ever made me nauseous, the other being Soarin'. Teacups do not bother me and I also grew up going to Cedar Point every summer and riding everything there no problem. But that being said, you will never know until you try it yourself. Don't let us influence your decision.

As far as the scariness factor, I took my 3 yr old on it last month and he loved it (and he's not a thrill ride kid AT ALL - barnstormer was too scary for him!). I don't find it scary at all. It is higher and faster than dumbo, but you're still just going in a circle, fastened snugly in your rocket.

As for motion sickness, I think you'll have to use your own judgement, based on what (if anything) affects you.

Not scary at all unless you have a fear of heights or have trouble handling (slowly) spinning rides, but it's a low capacity ride and almost always has a long line...may not be considered worthwhile for what you get.

I rode it for the very first time last month (and I've been to WDW dozens of times) and it was alright. Usually spinners don't make me dizzy, but this one did. It offers some neat views of the park, but I'd only ride it again if the line was really short.

I have ridden it twice. The first time was back in 2008 while on my honeymoon. That was when they had cast members walking around granting wishes and sprinkling pixie dust on people. My husband and I were pixie dusted rides on Astro Orbiter during Wishes. It was beautiful, but my husband and I were in the same seat and it was very crowded. Fast Forward to January of this year. My husband really wanted to ride it again, nevermind that it was incredibly cold and rainy (like ridiculously cold and rainy to the point that when my husband and I were walking from Liberty Square to Frontierland, we saw one other party because no one was there due to the weather). We decided to have our own cars this time which I found to be much more comfortable, especially since I was so freaked out and convinced I was going to fall out that I was practically lying down in the rocket grasping anything I could get my hands on for dear life. Not sure what the difference was, but I just really felt like I was going to fall out that time.

I had no issue with motion sickness, though, and I can't ride Star Tours, Tea Cups, Primeval Whirl, or Mission Space due to them making me sick, so take that for what it's worth.
