Asthma a problem on rides??

I think you mean the Rome scene in Spaceship Earth (there is a smoke smell effect there).

I had forgotten the Universe of Energy. While you are in the dinosaur viewing section of the attraction, there is some mist and a sort of 'wet, dank, mossy rainforest' effect smell.

Yes, thanks. I edited it. I do that all the time. It's that space word that throws me off.

Not sure if they still do it, but I had asked years ago when ds first had trouble with Universe of Energy, what the smell was in the ride. I was told by a CM they pump sulfur in with the mist.

We were just there 2 weeks ago and my DH and both of
our children have asthma!!!

They actually do better in Florida than at home.

I would carry a rescue inhaler for your son,
but most likely you do already!

This trip was no asthma attacks what so ever!

Have a great trip!

Hot weather is my trigger. Most asthmatics seem to have more trouble with cold weather so I guess I am in the minority. I keep an extra pack of prednisone to take when I got to DW so that I can enjoy my vacation (my doctor has okayed this)

The only attraction that has caused me to worry is the stink bug scene at It's a Bug's Life but it does not cause me to wheeze. I do not do thrill rides but imagine that just the fear would cause me problems.

Let your boy lead the way on what he wants to do and can do. I bet he knows very well since he has to deal with this on a daily basis.

Make sure you take extra meds just in case. If you have them you will not need them. (works for me)

Have fun and enjoy!

I have pretty bad asthma (to the point where I have to take more than one inhaler to the parks with me and use my nebulizer machine while in the hotel room), and i'm always worried about getting on one of the thrill rides and getting so excited/scared that I can't catch my breath. I've never rode Splash Mountain, M:S, BTMR, TOT, etc. in fear that I might have an attack while on the ride and not be able to do much about it.

I think you just have to guage how bad your sons asthma is, it seems like you've got everything under control so hopefully the rides won't be a problem for him.
