Can any member go to the first meeting?11-11:30AM...Directors, I think it's called? I have to leave before the second meeting.

Yes, DVC Members are welcome to attend any/all of the meetings. The first 2 meetings (Board meeting and Association meeting) will have no opportunity for input or comment by members in the audience. They are tightly scripted business meetings where the member representatives (appointed by Disney) will vote on the motions placed before those bodies. The budget will be approved at this session.

The last meeting is more casual and allows for comments and questions from the audience. Usually the GMs from each resort will offer an overview of the past year and expectations for the coming year. Any annoucements will generally be made during this meeting.

Where will the meeting be held? You mentioned the first meeting starts at 11am, do you have the information on the other meetings?

This is from the member site and then there's a link to sign in to say that you'll be there:

Annual Disney Vacation Club Condominium Association Meeting
As part of our efforts to serve the growing Member community more efficiently, a single condominium association meeting will be held for all Disney Vacation Club Resort associations on Tuesday, December 9, 2008. Hosting one meeting allows Members to mix and mingle with their Disney neighbors from throughout our Member community, nurturing the relationships that have become such a special part of the magic of Membership.

This year's meeting is the perfect opportunity to learn about exciting new developments, events and locations; get your most important questions answered; and share you magical experiences with others.

Thanks for posting the information! I was just on the members' site and didn't see it. I looked in the "news" section but it's actually on the main page way at the bottom. I didn't scroll down far enough to see it!

We've been to the member's meetings, and got extrememly frustrated with how scripted they were as well. Most of the answers are very "canned".

How long does the members' meeting usually last? And what's the dress code?

The first 2 meetings will be about 10=15 minutes each. There will be a break for lunch and then the Member's Meeting will last about an hour depending on the number of questions/comments from members.

Dress is Theme Park casual! :)

Anythign special happen during the members meeting? Wondering if any special merhcandise or something can be purchased. Or is it strictly business?

Just so happens I will be at the BCV that day. I might wonder over to the meeting if I can figure if it's worth my precious vaction time. If it's all business, I get enough of those in the real world.

If you just have time for the directors meeting, I would not bother. They just go through the dues budget and some other items and vote yes or no (you know they will vote yes). No opportunity for the audience to comment or ask questions. At the members meeting, they will do a presentation regarding upcoming changes (probably emphasizing BLT this year) and will then take questions from the audience.

I am going this year for the first time. Even though most of this is just BAU, for me it is exciting to see yet another perspective of DVC. Can't wait!!!

Shucks! Early on, well, this vacation came to be possible on Oct. 31st, I could have booked 3 nights and been there for the association meeting, but I didn't know what was going on that week. It's a special visit to visit with good friends and see their daughter in the CP. I've already booked non refundable air, so changing would be more than the information I receive would be worth.

You are right, it wouldn't be worth my time, and I could be enjoying the afternoon at AKL. I did send MS the information that I would be attending, I will change that.

Thank you.
Bobbi

PS. I hope those who are able to go report the results here!

They are allowing 2.5 hours for the member's meeting. it may not last that long, but they are generous with their time for that meeting and will even stay afterwards for personal interaction.

Dress code is Themepark casual. Wear whatever you'd like! :)

Bumping, looking forward to a recap later this afternoon.

Thanks in advance!

Peace,
G4L

I would like to plan a trip next year and attend the meeting. Is it always the same day in December? Thanks.

Jerry
